Angel poked into the wand shop, dark circles were etched heavily under her eyes, stating that she was exhausted would be the understatement of the century, life was difficult recently. There was all the deal with Isabelle and the Order, on top of that she was parenting two infants, and now she had to go back to work. Like some sort of drone, Angel followed her usual path. She walked straight to the back room and began working on a wand, allowing her instincts to pick the appropriate materials. For this wand she started with a fine sample of mahogany, and a peculiarly long phoenix feather. This was going to be a strong wand.
She sat down to work, using the secret magical process to get the core inside of the wand, and then began whittling away. Angel hummed as she worked, she had forgotten how much she had enjoyed her job. It was relaxing, seeing the wand take form from what used to be a chunk of inanimate wood. After polishing the wand, she put it through the standard series of tests. She had found that any wand she made cooperated with her nicely- though none of them quite so much as her own. The bell over the door dinged, and because there was not a cashier present, Angel went to tend to the customer, though when she came to the front room she was surprised to find...

Gabriella entered the shop, holding her old willow wand, which was now snapped in half. A spell had hit it, causing it to break. Gabriella was upset, as her wand had been a good one, but hopefully she could get one of Angel's creations. Gabriella smiled at her cousin as she came from the back room. "Hey Angie," Gabriella said, showing her the wand.

"Hello Gabby," said Angel, frowning a bit at the state of her cousin's wand, she had known it to be a fine creation, a thing to be proud of. At least Gabriella had come straight to her instead of trying to repair the wand. Just a glance told Angel it would have to be replaced, wands were finicky, a little chip in the wood could be fixed, but if the damage got to the core... "Let's get started then," said Angel, she then ducked into the shelves and brought out one of the newer boxes. "Hawthorn, phoenix feather, thirteen and a half inches. Snappy, good for defensive magic." Angel informed, presenting Gabriella with the wand of her creation.

Gabriella smiled as she set down her old wand and took the one that Angel held out to her. For a moment, she felt as though she was eleven once more, getting her first wand. She flicked the wand slightly with her wrist, but nothing happened. Gabriella sighed slightly before handing the wand back to Angel.

"No, that won't do," said Angel, sticking the wand back into the box and putting the wand on the counter. She darted back into the shelves, and selected four different boxes, to save herself extra trips. Gabriella was going to be a difficult person to match with her proper wand. She opened a faded purple box, this was one of the few wands they had left made by the last of the Ollivander kin. "Yew, dragon heart string, twelve and one quarter inches. Powerful, but temperamental," said Angel presenting her cousin with the second wand.

Gabriella picked up the wand and gave it a half-hearted wave. For a moment, she imagined that she felt warmth at her finger-tips, but Gabriella realized it was only because the wand was warmer than her skin. She handed it back to Angel with a slight shrug. "Guess I'm a tricky customer," Gabriella commented.

"No matter, not many people find the right one on the second try," said Angel, putting the wand back into its box and opening up another of the ones that she had brought with her. This one was an elaborate creation of hers, delicate ivy carvings scaling the upper side. "Rosewood, hippogriff talon, eleven inches, soft, excellent for charms." said Angel, giving her cousin the wand.

Gabriella nodded. "I suppose not," she replied as she took the wand from Angel. It was quite beautiful but before she even waved it, Gabriella knew that wand probably wasn't for her. When nothing happened, Gabriella handed the wand back. The excitement of getting a new wand was starting to fade away, making Gabriella wish the old one was still usable.

Angel boxed the wand and grabbed one of the others that she had brought with her. It was a strong one, she had been experimenting with new woods and cores, to expand the horizons of Ollivander's creations, this one she had a good feeling about. It was a protector's wand. "Oak, ashwinder ash core, thirteen and three quarter inches; strong, good for protective spells." Angel informed her cousin, offering the handle of the polished wand to Gabriella, it probably seemed a more likely fit than the others, but the only way to test was for her cousin to wield it.

"Alright," Gabriella said, taking the wand from Angel. Warmth spread into her fingertips and Gabriella gave the wand a half wave, with no particular spell in mind. It emitted a shower of sparks that disappeared before hitting anything. Gabriella laughed, she rather liked the wand.

"There we go!" Angel said enthusiastically, she had had the feeling in her stomach that it was going to be the right one, she was seldom wrong when she had that feeling. She flicked her own wand at the unneeded wands and sent them zooming back to their shelves. Angel rung up Gabriella's wand, pressing the brass keys on the register. "That'll be five Galleons," said she, smiling to herself at the efficiency of her work.

Gabriella smiled, glad for Angel's efficient work. With any other employee it probably would've taken ages to find Gabriella's wand, but Angel certainly had a knack for that sort of thing. As Gabriella pulled her money out of the pocket of her robes, she began thinking about how a couple of months ago, paying for the wand would've been a stretch. Now that she was married to Isaac, money wasn't a problem.

"It's a fine wand," said Angel as she tore the receipt from the slot at the top the register and handed it to her cousin. The drawer closed quickly, she could hear the sound of the coins sloshing around inside of their compartments momentarily. Sometimes she wished that wizards used paper money, that would certainly make the handling of the profits a bit less cumbersome. "But very powerful, I'm quite thankful it chose you of all people. I wouldn't want it to get into the wrong hands," Angel added.

Gabriella nodded in agreement. The Order certainly wouldn't want one of Angel's powerful wands in the hands of a Death Eater. But Gabriella still thought it was the wizard casting the spells who had more impact than the wand itself, although it was not unheard of for wands to do magic without the aid of a wizard, she supposed. "Well, I'm really glad that I have a working wand now," Gabriella commented after taking the receipt from Angel.

"That does tend to help, doesn't it?" said Angel, smiling. She checked her watch, was that really the time already? She flicked her wand at the sign on the door and it flipped over to the side that read Closed!. She looked back to her cousin. "It's time for my lunch hour, do you want to hang around with me? That's if you haven't other errands to finish," asked Angel.
