Stevie Rae had never been more peaceful. Her father was gone. There were no more worries. Julie was as fragile as ever, but at least they were speaking again. Stevie Rae, however peaceful, was still on edge however. It seemed like something was off. Maybe it was a maternal instinct or something of the sort. Julie was seeming... different. Stevie Rae tried to shake the feelings off. Today was another lazy day for her. Her school work was done, and she wasn't quite sure what to do. As if on cue, a familiar face was wandering up the streets towards her...

Julie came down the street, bundled up in her cloak, gloves, scarf, and snow boots. As of now she was quite enjoying the cool weather, it gave her more of an excuse to cover up the scars obtained through years of abuse by her father. She was just thankful that they did not extend to her neck and face, those were harder to cover. She saw her sister from a distance, and took a few strides to catch up. "Hi Steves," said Julie, looking as if nothing were wrong. She was an expert at her masquerade by now.

Stevie Rae smiled at her sister. "Hey Jules," she greeted. No doubt Julie was still depressed about what had happened. However, she wasn't going to intrude. Julie already knew that Stevie Rae still wished that it had been her. "How are things?" she asked curiously. Lately, Julie was wandering around with a seventh year boy, whom had yet to be named. Stevie Rae hoped he treated her sister well. That was all that mattered to her. Stevie Rae leaned back, examining her younger sister.

"Fairly well at the moment," said Julie, shoving her hands into her pockets in order to keep them warm, "I was promoted to Assistant Manager at work." She wasn't going to talk about Darren unless her sister mentioned her being seen in the company of some guy. Julie wasn't going to bring on awkward conversations about her love life, but she would let Stevie Rae in on some things, piece by piece, though probably not the entire picture.
