Isaac kept hold of Gabriella's hand as they ascended the staircase, the steps creaked as much as the floors downstairs. He was afraid that if they were any heavier they might put a foot through the floor. Or perhaps the house needed to be lived in again, the place didn't look like it had seen much activity in a long time. "Most of the rooms here have a private bath," said Hazel, opening up the door to the first bedroom, "but the ones nearest the stairs either share or do not have one connected." Isaac nodded, looking around.

Gabriella nodded and began looking through the bedrooms. She found a room in the corner that she thought she would have liked to grow up in. It was slightly smaller than most of the other rooms, but it had a beautiful bay window that looked out over the backyard. And a tree was near enough to the window for a child to climb out onto. Yes, if Gabriella had grown up in this house, that would have been her room. Smiling slightly to herself, Gabriella left the room in the corner and followed Hazel over to the master bedroom.

The master bedroom was huge, because of its convenient location on the back wall of the house it allowed for dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a wonderful view of the wood that engulfed the property. Isaac's instincts told him that way was west, it must be spectacular at sunset. Isaac squeezed Gabriella's hand lightly. "Isn't this lovely?" he asked, smiling.

Gabriella grinned when she saw the master bedroom, now she was sold on the house. "I'm thinking that this room is my favorite," she said with a smile toward Isaac. Out of more habit than actual interest, Gabriella examined the large master bathroom before coming back into the bedroom. She loved the view, it was fabulous, and she couldn't help but think that it would be even better at sunset.

"Do you think this is it?" Isaac asked Gabriella, using a tone low enough so Hazel would not be able to listen in on them from the next room. He himself had liked the house the moment they stepped inside; but he had never been the best at reading his wife's emotions. Isaac just wanted her to be happy, all she had to do was say the word and they would leave the house behind in search of another.

Gabriella paused for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah, I think this is it," she replied in an equally low tone. Even if Hazel was in the room, she and Isaac could talk quickly enough that the agent wouldn't be able to understand them. But with Hazel in the other room, Gabriella and Isaac just had to speak quietly in order to not be overhead.

Isaac smiled, then gave Gabriella's hand a squeeze, he had known that she was going to love the place, which was part of why he had been so excited to see it himself. He could imagine the pair of them lovingly working on the things that needed fixing over the weekends- the muggle way, it would be much more fulfilling, plus many muggle families lived in the area. "Then I think it would be cruel to leave Mrs. Winthrop waiting for much longer," Isaac said, continuing his low tone, and then led the way back into the bedroom where Hazel was waiting eagerly.

"Probably," Gabriella whispered in reply, then followed Isaac back into the other room where Hazel was anxiously awaiting their return. She was obviously hoping that they would like the house. "I think we'd like to make an offer on the house," Gabriella told her and she smiled genuinely. "Why don't we head downstairs and we can fill out some paperwork," Hazel suggested, then lead the way back down the stairs toward the kitchen.

Isaac was not looking forward to this, but he decided it would be worth it in the end once they had bought the house. They took seats at the table as Hazel pulled out a stack of papers from her briefcase. Isaac was not sure how many times he signed his name, jotted down his initials, and stuck the date on forms. At least Hazel had stuck tiny sticky notes where they needed to sign, initial, or put the date.

Gabriella signed her name several times and scribbled in her initials a couple of times after that. At last, that paperwork was done. Hazel smiled at the two of them. "Alright, now I just have to call the seller to confirm your offer, but I'm sure they'll accept," she said. She pulled a cell phone out of her briefcase and headed into the other room to make the call. Gabriella glanced nervously at Isaac.

"Don't fret so much, love," said Isaac, finding his wife's hand, and putting a gentle kiss on her forehead, "with how long the place has been on the market, they'll probably be glad to be rid of it." He gave her hand an encouraging squeeze, there wasn't a doubt in his mind that they would accept; even if they reclined Isaac could easily double or even triple the offer, this was going to be their house one way or another.

"I'm just excited," Gabriella assured him. She could hardly believe that she and Isaac were going to have a house so soon. Gabriella felt so young and yet so old at the same time; it was certainly a bizarre feeling. There was no doubt that this would be their house, with all the money that Isaac could offer the seller, they just couldn't refuse.

Isaac grinned at his wife, this moment was so exciting, their own house. It was twenty times the space they would ever need, but he could imagine their friends stopping by a lot. Perhaps they could give the Order a proper headquarters. But he and Gabriella would have to discuss that later. Hazel came back into the room beaming. "They've accepted your offer! Once the paperwork is final we'll arrange a meeting so I can hand over the keys, and there's just one more move-in inspection- But once those things are out of the way, the place is yours." Isaac squeezed his wife's hand, feeling excited for the first time in a while.
