"Do you play Quidditch at all?" asked Ella, trying to avoid an awkward silence. While she was scared to death of flying, she did follow her favourite team, the Chudley Cannons, quite avidly. She knew that many a student at Hogwarts were Quidditch enthusiasts, several of them holding, or aspiring to hold, places on their house teams. Ella took a dainty sip of sherry, after this glass she would call it enough for the night, she still had to apparate home, after all.

Cora nodded, a smile coming across her pale face. "Yes, I'm a chaser for my House team," she replied. Quidditch was one of her favorite subjects; Cora never grew tired of flying around on a broomstick. Being a chaser was quite fun. Originally, Cora had tried out to be a seeker, but had found that she liked chasing better. Besides, having the whole Ressel family be seekers was just boring.

"That's cool," said Ella, folding her hands around the stem of her glass. "I have great respect for Quidditch players, flying scares me to death." She could remember her first year during the mandatory flying lessons that she would be almost in tears, even if they would only be hovering about the ground to the point where their toes could skim the grass. No brooms for her.

"Aw, that's too bad," Cora replied. "What's your favorite team?" Cora couldn't imagine not liking to fly, but she supposed that some people couldn't stand to be off the ground. She remembered during her first year flying lessons, one girl had thrown up after flying a foot in the air. But not everyone was good at everything.
