Jenna pulled her curled hair into a low ponytail on the right side of her head and examined her handiwork in the mirror. It wasn't bad for a girl who had spent most of her life not caring what she looked like. Sliding in her silver earrings, Jenna took a moment to examine her engagement ring. It was still as beautiful as ever, though she could hardly believe she would be married soon. Everything seemed as though it was happening so fast. Both the good and the bad.
Checking her makeup once more, Jenna smiled slightly at her reflection and deemed herself good enough for dinner with Luke. They had decided to dine in her apartment due to the constant threat of Death Eaters on the streets these days. Jenna had placed many spells around her apartment for protection; it was unlikely that they would be disturbed.
Exiting the bathroom, Jenna walked over to her small kitchen, feeling slightly awkward by the heels she was wearing. It wasn't often that she wore heels because she was too short for them to make much of an impact anyway. But Jenna had liked these shoes, so she was wearing them. She pulled out her silverware and set the dining room table for two people, putting out glasses and napkins as well. She kept the plates in the kitchen, though, as Luke was supposed to bring the food. Jenna wasn't very good with cooking.
There was a knock at the door. "Coming!" Jenna called, stopping at the mirror in the hallway to check her hair. It rarely stayed in place, but tonight it was simply perfect. Grinning at the prospect of seeing her fiance, Jenna briskly walked to the door and opened it to reveal...

Luke, holding a giant pan of vegetable lasagna. It was his mom's favorite thing to make and she had been more than happy to help him whip it up for his date with Jenna. While Luke admitted that it was a bit odd to be having a date in an apartment, he really didn't mind. Being with Jenna was the only thing that mattered to him. They would have a great time, wherever they were.
"Hello beautiful," he said with a grin, giving Jenna a small hug as he let himself inside her apartment. "You look positively gorgeous tonight, as always." He followed her into the kitchen, thinking that the dress made her look especially beautiful. The blue really brought out the similar color in her eyes. Luke placed the lasagna on the counter and took the top off. "Hungry, my dear?" he asked with a smile.

Jenna returned the hug and led Luke into her kitchen, thanking him for the comment about her looking gorgeous. "You look quite handsome, yourself," she commented. Jenna inhaled deeply, delighted by the warm scent of lasagna. It was one of her favorite dishes, especially the way Luke's mom made it. She had been over many times during the summer and had eaten it twice previously. Jenna couldn't say that the experience was quite as pleasant when Luke met Penelope, however.
"Yes, I'm quite hungry," Jenna replied, knowing that it was after seven. She handed Luke the serving spoon and set the plates next to the dish of lasagna, allowing him to serve tonight. Taking her steaming plate of pasta, Jenna led the way to the dining room table, just a few feet away.
