Emily sighed, leaning her head against the glass of the window. Because of the stormy weather, the pane was cool against her forehead. For the first time since summer had started, she had left the house on her own. She hadn't had a destination in mind when she came to King's Cross, but now found herself on a train bound for Aberdeen, unsure of why she was even going there. Emily watched absentmindedly as people dashed about to the trains they were trying to get to in the pouring rain. A clap of thunder seemed to rattle the very windows of the train.

She allowed a sigh to escape her lips, wondering what her parents would say if they discovered that her idea of 'going out for the day' was going all the way to Aberdeen; of course it wasn't too far, just an hour or two by train, but it was still a relatively big step for a girl that hadn't gone anywhere by her lonesome since December. Emily sighed, but found herself looking away from the window as someone familiar boarded the train.

Alec was quite bored that day and on a whim, had decided to visit some distant relatives of his in Aberdeen. They didn't know he was coming, since Alec wasn't the type to call ahead, but Alec figured they would welcome him anyway. Most of his family members were ridiculously kind people.

As he boarded the train, Alec spotted a familiar face. Coming closer, he realized it was none other than Emily Weasley, Gabriella's younger sister. Though he hadn't really talked to her before, Alec approached the girl. "Hello Emily," he said, standing next to her seat. "Mind if I sit here?"

Emily surveyed the boy, it took a moment for her to place a name to the face, but was able to dub this older guy as Alec Reese. Notorious for his 'player' type attitude, and she recalled that he had dated Gabriella some time ago; when she and Isaac had not been together. She mentally decided in a split second that she would take a risk and spend some time with him, she was feeling carefree today, and Emily wanted to keep that feeling going for as long as possible. And somehow, Alec seemed like the right person to keep fueling this metaphoric fire. "Not at all," said Emily, scooting over a bit to make room.
