Raychel opened the door to the Empty Classroom hesitantly. Finding that no one was inside, she breathed a sigh of relief. This was obviously the right room. She quietly closed the door behind her and took a seat a top of one of the tables. She had gotten a strange letter from Gabriella during breakfast this morning. It had told her to come down to the classroom on the first floor, and to wait. Raychel looked around, hoping she wasn't early. Something was up, and she was eager to learn. The door opened a crack and she jumped. It was... Outfit: www.polyvore.com/outfit/set?id=14259363

Gabriella slipped in the room after checking behind her to make sure no one had followed her. You could never really be too careful with these sorts of things. She smiled at Raychel, noting that her heart rate had jumped when the door creaked open. Gabriella decided it was better not to mention that at the moment. "Hey," she said in a low voice, coming over. "Thanks for coming."
Gabriella reached for the window and opened it with her wand. Since they were on the first floor, it was just a short drop to the ground. There was really no point in walking out to the main doors since they were here. And Gabriella felt that she would rather show Raychel than tell her anyway. "I need to show you something," she said. "Come with me." Gabriella slipped out of the window, landing on her feet in a rather cat-like position. The drop was about two feet, so even Raychel, who was human, could handle it. Gabriella waited for her friend to follow. She was going to take her to the forest so they could run.

Raychel rushed to the window and watched her friend fall wordlessly to the ground. She didn't hesitate to follow. Being a rather graceful person herself, the landing was not unlike that of Gabby's. She stood up and raised her eyebrows. Something was off about her friend's general appearance. She couldn't place what it was. Gabriella had been hiding something from her. Arguing would have to wait.

Gabriella's jeans made little noise as she and Raychel began to walk toward the forest. She could tell that Raychel was confused, merely by her heartbeat, and for good reason, as Gabriella really hadn't explained anything yet. "Don't freak out too much, alright," Gabriella said once they were next to the forest. She took a few steps inside and the trees enveloped her. Gabriella smiled. She loved the forest.

Raychel said nothing. She followed Gabby into the forest. She noticed a very strange thing. Her friend had an unusual grace in her every move. Her clothes hardly made any noise when moved, and her feet made little to no sound. Gabby was practically floating compared to Raychel. It was eerily beautiful.

They reached a small clearing in the forest and only then did Gabriella turn back around. She had allowed a tint of green into her eyes, though it wasn't quite as bright as a few nights ago when she had last hunted. At first she didn't quite know how to break the news to Raychel. "Want a piggyback ride?" she asked at last.

Raychel's eyebrows arched yet again. She pondered the unusual question for a while. Suddenly, she took note of Gabby's eyes. The green was odd, and it was unusually... well green. It was a vibrant, almost bottle-green. Raychel shook off the chills that had begun to run up and down her spine. Nodding, she stayed where she was. She finally walked over and waited for Gabby to look like she was ready to have someone upon her back.

Gabriella noted Raychel's chills and began to wonder if this was the right thing to do. But she couldn't let the poor girl be oblivious to her vampire condition. Gabriella crouched down and Raychel jumped on her back. Gabriella held tight to her legs and leaned forward slightly. Raychel seemed light, actually, like she could almost fly away. "Hold on tight," Gabriella warned. Then she began to run. Not the slow run that she did when people were watching, but her real, unnatural, run. Wickedly fast, her feet barely touched the ground. Her sharp eyes noted the tree branches and she pushed them out of the way so that they wouldn't hurt Raychel.

Raychel's breath caught in her throat. She watched as the world, her surroundings, blurred together. She had definitely not expected this. Her friend, unusually pale, with bright green eyes, the most graceful creature on earth. Raychel was dumbfounded. Gabby had done a good job hiding her huge secret. Raychel would have never guessed it, given the opportunity. Surprisingly, even with the speed at which they were traveling, Raychel hadn't lost her breath. Her lungs still worked. She let out a laugh. Gabby's hands flew out at incredible speeds to stop branches that appeared out of nowhere the minute her hands made contact. Raychel was in utter awe.

Gabriella took it as a good sign that Raychel was laughing rather than screaming and sobbing. A smile came across her face as she ran faster still, holding Raychel tight to her back. She stopped in one of her favorite clearings, slowing down a bit before it so her friend wouldn't get whiplash upon stopping. Gabriella let Raychel slide off her back and then turned around and grinned.

Raychel grinned back. Silence was shared as they sized each other up for some time. Raychel finally reached forward and pulled her friend into a hug. "Thank you for telling me." She whispered into Gabby's hair.

Gabriella gave her friend a gentle hug, still smiling. "You're welcome," she whispered before she released Raychel. Gabriella fingered the rings on her left hand, first the engagement ring, then the one that Angel had given her. She decided that she might as well tell Raychel what that did, now that her other best friend knew her secret. "This ring from Angel protects me from the sun," she said, allowing Raychel to view the ring again. "It was an early wedding present."

Raychel watched the ring sparkle dimly. She knew it had something of an eerie quality. but she never would have guessed it did that much. "I had a feeling there was something off about the gorgeous ring." she replied with a smile. She sat down in the grass, breathing in the smell. She loved the outdoors, but the weather had held off her runs. She looked up at Gabby and couldn't help but smile. It was incredible.

Gabriella chuckled, examining the ring once more. Perhaps it did look odd to a human, because of all the magic surrounding it. To her it merely looked normal, like Isaac and Angel, or any person that wasn't entirely human, actually. It was probably the opposite to anyone else. Gabriella interrupted her thoughts to look down at Raychel, who was sitting in the grass, looking rather content. At least she hadn't completely freaked out. Gabriella was grateful that she had such great friends.

Raychel breathed in the fresh air once more, at peace. She looked up. "How long ago were you Bitten? Long before I met you I imagine." she asked quietly. She desperately hoped she wasn't touching base on an uncomfortable subject. She was extremely curious however, and couldn't help herself. Vampires, werewolves, the whole bit, completely fascinated her. Their natures, their effects on humans, their weaknesses and strengths. The whole thing was incredible and interesting. Most would find such topics mortifying and frightening, but not Raychel.
