Gabriella took a deep, but un-needed, breath and then knocked on the door to her own house. She had a key, but figured it would be better to knock, considering what she was about to tell her father. Gabriella had already told her mother, who had been a bit puzzled at first, but had come around eventually. But Ron was bound to be more of a challenge, due to his immense rivalry with Draco Malfoy, Isaac's father.
To Gabriella's relief, her father answered the door. "Hi Dad," Gabriella said and stepped inside. Ron looked confused, but shut the door behind her. "Hello Gabriella, what brings you here?" Gabriella sighed slightly. "I have news," she said slowly and deliberately. "Did someone die?" her father replied immediately. Gabriella chuckled softly. "No Dad, good news," she replied with a slight shake of her head. "I'm getting married."
Ron raised his eyebrows high into his flaming red hair. "Oh, to who?" he asked. Gabriella had expected this, since Ron had never found out about her dating Isaac the second time. "Isaac Malfoy," Gabriella said very quitely. "Pardon?" said her father. "Isaac Malfoy," she said, firmly this time. As if in slow motion, Gabriella watched her father's face turn scarlett. She bit her lip softly.
"WHAT?!" he bellowed. "I thought I told you never to mess with that family again! They're all no-good, filthy pure-bloods, disgracing wizards and mixing up with Death Eaters! Why are you marrying him?!" Gabriella narrowed her eyes, feeling anger bubbling inside of her. "Because I love him!" she shouted back. "He's nothing like his father, or his mother for that matter! And I'm getting married to him whether you like it or not! I'm of age, I can do that." That last part was said more softly, a threat almost.
"Not if you want someone to walk you down the aisle," Ron said, his voice soft, but filled with anger. Gabriella could've cried. "Yes, I want your blessing and I would love it if you walked me down the aisle, but I don't need it Dad!" she said, more loudly. "I'm sorry, but you can't get me with that anymore!" At this, Ron seemed speechless. For a moment Gabriella thought she might have won him over. "Goddamnit, Gabriella, you're not your mother!" he yelled, the ending to nearly all of their arguments. Then he stalked away.
Gabriella let out a sigh, feeling suddenly defeated. Her efforts had failed and her father didn't seem to trust her judgement, though she was now seventeen, nearly eighteen, and about to be married. He never seemed to fully trust her. She pulled open the front door and walked out, shutting it behind her. There she sat on the cement steps and put her head in her hands, hair spilling all around her. What was there to do?

Isaac had wanted to accompany Gabriella there, but for whatever reason, had not gone. Feeling guilty for not being there, he had taken the day off work and apparated into Godric's Hollow. It didn't taking him long to find his fiancee, soon-to-be wife by smell. Instantly, he could tell that things had not gone well. Isaac bit his lip as he sat beside her. He wrapped his arms around Gabriella, being gentle, although he knew that he couldn't hurt Gabriella. "Don't worry, love," Isaac said quietly, kissed the top of her head.. "He'll come 'round."

Gabriella instinctively leaned into Isaac and sighed. "It's just so stupid, though," she said quietly, but anger was still present in her voice. "How he can't even get over that old rivalry with your dad. And your dad's not even going to be there." At least her mother had said she would come, though Gabriella couldn't imagine Hermione without Ron. It would just be odd. She hoped Isaac was right. Whatever she said, Gabriella wanted her father at her wedding, walking her down the aisle.

"Even if he doesn't," said Isaac, gently rubbing his hand up and down Gabriella's arm, his own arm around her shoulders. "Nothing a little Confundus Charm wouldn't fix, hm?" He said the last bit a little teasingly. The fact that Mr. Weasley judged him upon his father did seem rather cruel, but Isaac was going to do whatever it took to get the Weasleys to accept him.

Gabriella laughed, lifting her head up to face him. "But I think if he could just meet you without totally blowing up, he would figure out that you're not going to be the next Malfoy Death Eater," Gabriella said with a sigh. "But if we even tried, he'd slam the door in your face."

"It'll just take time," Isaac said reassuringly. Although he wanted Gabriella's family to like him, it wasn't nearly as important to him as she was. The fact that they would be together for as long as they would live was exciting. Isaac didn't want to spend the rest of his days with anyone else. "Perhaps today won't be a good time," said Isaac. "We'll let him cool off a bit, after all, we have until August."

Gabriella smiled a bit at this; Isaac always managed to make her feel better, no matter what it was. "Yeah, you're right," she said quietly. She sat up a bit straighter now. "Well, what would you like to do with this day?"

Isaac gave Gabriella a small smile. He looked straight into her eyes, beautiful brown eyes. He was jealous of her Metamorphagus powers, he had to use charms to make his eyes look even remotely normal. "Whatever floats your rock, love," Isaac said in a teasing tone. He was up for anything fun, and he knew that Gabriella usually had ideas.

"Did I ever show you my clearing?" Gabriella asked with a small smile. She remembered showing Angel the place that she had magically enchanted, but she was pretty sure she hadn't shown Isaac, unless she had before she had become a vampire. But those memories were a bit fuzzy now. "It's not far from here; we could run."

"Can't say that you have," said Isaac, standing up and offering his hand to help Gabriella. Although she was a lot faster than he was, a run did sound like fun, he had not had the opportunity to do so with all the work involving NEWT exams of late. And at night, he usually only had enough time to go hunting and then come back to finish the loads of homework.

Gabriella took his hand and let him pull her up to her feet, where she immediately felt a lot better, stronger too. Yes, she wasn't about to let her dad bring her down, not today at least. "Alright, let's go," she said, starting to walk toward the woods, which wasn't far from her house. "We can run when we're in the woods."

Isaac nodded with a small smile. Knowing Gabriella, this had to be good. Ever so slowly, he lightly grasped her hand, his fingers sliding between hers. Their hands fit together so perfectly, it was almost as if they were made to fit that way. Yes, here they were, the world's most unlikely couple. Isaac wouldn't have it any other way.

Gabriella and Isaac walked hand and hand until they reached the woods and then Gabriella tugged slightly on Isaac's hand and broke into a run. It was a relatively short run to the clearing for a vampire, but a bit of a walk for anyone else. And it felt amazing to run again, especially since Gabriella was holding hands with Isaac while doing so.

Isaac had to push himself to keep up with Gabriella. She was much more swift and agile than he was. Like a gazelle. Isaac had more like brute-strength than speed. Isaac stopped after Gabriella did. It felt strange to not have to take in several deep breaths after running so quickly. He looked around, waiting for something to happen.

Gabriella led Isaac into the clearing and felt a sort of shift as the bubble closed behind them. She went to the middle and gestured for Isaac to lie down on the grass. Gabriella did so as well and the sky started to darken, from an overcast day into the darkest of nights. Stars shone from the sky and Gabriella grinned. She had been working on her spellwork and there would be more to come.
