Blaize seated himself at the bar and promptly ordered a butterbeer. It was cold outside, and that would be just the thing to warm him up. Life seemed strange of late, some things were better, others worse. Emily had finally been cured of her seemingly endless depression, but Angel had dropped out of school because she had gotten pregnant. And now Gabriella and Isaac Malfoy were to be married in the summer. Blaize wasn't sure what he thought of that, he and Isaac had never been introduced, but he supposed as long as he treated Gabriella right, he would be fine with it.
That would be another story with Ron, however. If Hermione weren't there, Ron might go as far as disowning Gabriella. But Blaize assumed that if Isaac Malfoy were anything like his father, Draco, his sister would probably hate him beyond comprehension. Now, even more unusual, Blaize was here alone. He was popular amongst the Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors, and had a good friend basis, but he had come by his lonesome to get a butterbeer on a Saturday afternoon. He took a sip, his future was going to be complicated.

Zelphar entered the pub next, it was extraordinarily cold outdoors, even for February, it had even began to snow again. He shook his head and snowflakes flew off of his black hair. He undid the fastenings on his cloak, the Three Broomsticks was warm and inviting, a shelter from the horrid weather. He seated himself next to the Hufflepuff, Blaize Weasley. They had had prefect's duty together a couple of times. "Hey Blaize," said Zelphar, then ordered himself a butterbeer.

Blaize jerked out of his thoughts suddenly when someone talked to them. It took him a second to put a name to the face, then realized that it was an acquaintance of his, a fellow prefect and fifth year, Zelphar Séregon. He gavea small smile. "Hi Zelphar," said Blaize. "How are you?" He took a sip of butterbeer.

"Not bad," said Zelphar and took a small sip of his butterbeer. "Homework has been a real pain of late, I'm sure you've experienced that yourself of late. How have you been?" But life was good this Saturday, for once, Zelphar did not have any homework. He allowed himself a peaceful sigh.

Blaize nodded in agreement to Zelphar's statement about the immensely heavy homework load. Their OWLs weren't even until April! That was a whole two months they had. Of course, his mother had had him and Emily do OWL practice papers over the summer, which was a bit ridiculous. "Everything has just been really complicated, especially in my family," said Blaize.

In a way, Zelphar was envious of Blaize having such a large family. He did not really know what family was like, of course, Mr. and Mrs. Caprini were like his own mother and father; Sometimes they wrote to him and they sent a gift at Christmas if he stayed for the holidays. But they weren't family. He took a sip of butterbeer. "How so?" asked Zelphar.

Blaize should have known this was coming; After all, he had said a sentence that was probably too vague. He was not sure if was comfortable confiding in Zelphar, he really did not know him all that well. After a moment and a sip of butterbeer, he decided that he would. "My older sister, Gabriella, is getting married this summer, to Isaac Malfoy." said Blaize. "I don't know if she's told our parents yet, but I don't think that they're going to take it very well."

Of course, Zelphar had heard that the Weasley and Potter families had something against the Malfoys, like a school-aged rivalry. In his opinion, that was kind of stupid, they were adults now, they could solve their problems. They did not have to like one another, but at least stop holding grudges. "I'm sure it'll be fine," said Zelphar. He didn't really know a ton about love an related topics, he was only fifteen.

Safira practically ran from Honeyduke's to the Three Broomsticks, as not to be out in the steadily worsening snowstorm. She breathed a sigh of relief as the door closed behind her, and she sat up at the bar, pink-faced from the harsh wind. Safira quickly ordered a butterbeer, then smiled at two familiar faces; Zelphar and Blaize.

"Hey Safira," said Zelphar, looking over at her. She was the complete antithesis of someone's first idea of a Malfoy. For one, she was a Gryffindor, and secondly, she didn't care about blood status. Safira was also a prefect, they had become good friends. Zelphar took a sip of butterbeer, feeling much warmer now, except for the tip of his nose and fingers.

Blaize nodded to his close friend as she sat. He was thinking a bit too hard, and had a bit too much butterbeer in his mouth to say anything to her. Safira was one of the few people that both he and Emily were friends with, they did not have the same circle of friends. He swallowed. "Hi Safira." said Blaize.

Safira raised her eyebrows as the bartender placed a butterbeer in front of her, then took a sip. "You sound glum," she said after she had swallowed, her comment directed at Blaize. She could hear it in his voice, he wasn't quite the bright and cheerful self that he always was.
