Mummy Dearest (Gabriella/open)

Isaac looked up at the silver door-knocker. The doors to his parent's house were huge, one had to flick their wand at them in order for them to move anywhere. He didn't really want to be here, he would have much rather spent his entire holiday at Hogwarts. But he had to admit, Pansy was so nice now that Draco was locked up. It was almost scary. She had been cruel and shrewd his entire childhood, and to hear her express the wish to meet her soon-to-be daughter in-law was strange. Isaac turned to Gabriella with a half smile. "Ready?" Isaac asked her.

Gabriella gulped nervously, something she knew Isaac would easily catch. It was a little bit scary going to the Malfoy Manor as Isaac's fiance. She wondered how Pansy would react. And what if this was a trap? "Always," Gabriella replied, pushing all thoughts aside.

Isaac gave a small, encouraging smile. "Don't worry, Mum's not too bad these days. I think it was my father, she seems better now that he's gone." said Isaac. He reached up and lightly grasped the door-knocker, and then knocked twice. The doors opened two seconds later, and his mother stood before them. "Isaac!" she proclaimed, then pulled him into a hug, pinning his arms to his sides. "Hi Mum," Isaac said, gently prying his mother off him. She instead rounded on Gabriella. "Hello darling," she said, hugging her too. Isaac turned his laugh into a slight cough.

Gabriella's eyebrows raised at Mrs. Malfoy spontaneously hugging her. It was a little bit creepy to be completely honest. After a few awkward moments of being smushed, Gabriella pried her off as well. "Shall we go inside?" Gabriella asked a bit warily.

Bella came up behind her mother and spotted Isaac and Gabriella standing just outside the door. "Come on in," Bella said in response to Gabriella's question. It was weird to see Isaac back at the house, especially since things had been so different as of late.

"Hi Bella," Isaac said with a small smile. He wanted to patch things up with Bella, but wasn't quite sure how to go about doing that. The last time he had tried, they had had a quarrel. Isaac flicked his wand at the doors once everyone was inside, feeling awkward in his own home.

The mansion was even larger inside and Gabriella instantly felt uncomfortable. She wasn't like the Malfoy's, she had grown up in a small house just trying to get through life, not excelling like them. Gabriella gave a smile to Isaac's little sister, and kept her composure. "Your house is lovely," she said to Mrs. Malfoy.

Bella could've snorted, but she restrained herself, trying not to get on anyone's nerves. "Thank you," Bella heard her mother say in reply. The air was tainted with awkwardness, and Bella could tell that she wasn't the only one not feeling comfortable in her own home. It must stink to be Gabriella.

"Well then," said Pansy, looking as if she were trying very hard to start a conversation. Isaac found his eyes traveling about a bit, the house was gleaming, as usual, but it seemed different. Maybe it was because he hadn't been there since he and Allison had run away. "Would you care for a spot of tea?" his mother asked. "Gabriella and I don't drink much tea," Isaac said, his mother had figured out that he was a vampire. More like she made him tell her. "Oh, that's right. Never mind then." she said.

Gabriella chuckled slightly before the awkwardness set in again. Isaac should've just let them have tea, it would've been better than the silence. Food was awful, but bearable if Gabriella really tried. Gabriella remained silent, not really knowing what Pansy expected her to do.

"I just realized," said Isaac's mother. "I have been neglecting to get a few things, I must go to Diagon Alley for a while." Well, why did she invite them over if she was intending to leave? That didn't make much sense. No matter, it would get rid of her for an hour or two, which was something that Isaac wanted. "Bye dears," said Pansy, then scurried off. Probably to get herself a coat. "Well, that was strange," said Isaac.

"Yes it was," Gabriella agreed with a puzzled look. Why would Pansy want to see them so badly only to rush off to Diagon Alley as soon as they had come in the house? That didn't make any sense. Gabriella looked to Isaac's sister to see if she knew anything.

Now what were they to do? His mum was probably long gone, going to get whatever it was that she was going to get. "Care for a tour?" Isaac asked with a smile, in a slightly teasing manner. It was well above his head that Gabriella was going to be his wife. It seemed as if it were only yesterday when he had asked her out on a date in the library...

That was random of Mum, Bella thought with a slight sigh. She was still a bit in awe that Gabriella and Isaac were going to be married, and now Gabriella was going to get a tour of her house. Bella gave a weak chuckle at Isaac's comment. "There's a lot to see, we better get moving," she said.

Gabriella chuckled in response, feeling like the air had been lifted slightly by Mrs. Malfoy leaving. It was still a little awkward around Isaac's sister, though she seemed nice. Gabriella wondered why Isaac had never really mentioned her before. "Yeah, we might as well," Gabriella replied.
