Gabriella shrugged, thinking for a moment. "Then let me do it and then you can blame me, I'll fess up and she'll grumble, but forgive both of us," Gabriella replied. Her fingers felt for her wand beneath her cloak, but she didn't pull it out, not yet.

Emily gave a small chuckle. She didn't really need help, but that's exactly what her mother would do exactly as Gabriella predicted. It was just like Hermione to behave that way. "All right then, ready to play orthodontist?" Emily said teasingly.

Gabriella chuckled, smiling widely. She pulled her wand out now, thinking of all the appropriate spells. It should only take a few moments to get Emily's mouth looking perfect. "Only if you're ready to open wide," Gabriella replied, grinning.

Emily gave a small chuckle. She seated herself on the ground so Gabriella wouldn't hurt her neck trying to see into her mouth. See? Slytherins are capable of being considerate toward others. She brushed her hair out of the way. "Ahhhhhhhhh," said Emily, opening her mouth as widely as she could.

Gabriella knelt so that she was hovering just above her sister. She pointed her wand at Emily's front teeth, performing non-verbal spells to shrink them. Next, her spells re-alligned all of Emily's teeth to be perfectly straight. And to finish, Gabriella turned them pleasantly white. Not the overdone white that some Muggles thought was good, but a real-life white. "Done," Gabriella said. "Now give me a smile."

Emily had to work to smile with her teeth showing, she wasn't quite used to smiling in this manner, it felt strange to her. "Look good?" Emily asked. She wished that she had some sort of mirror so she could see Gabriella's handiwork. But she trusted her older sister, she wouldn't do anything bad to her.

Gabriella glanced at Emily's smile. "Well that's just about the prettiest smile in all of Hogwarts," she said, smiling herself. Gabriella pulled a miniature mirror out of her pocket, resizing it with her wand. "Take a look yourself," she added, handing it to Emily and stowing her wand away.

Emily held the mirror up to her face and examined herself. Her complexion was clear and perfect, the one that most women envied. She smiled into the mirror, feeling rather vain. "Wow," Emily said in a tone that could barely be heard. There was no other word for it. Her teeth were properly-sized and straight. They were a bit whiter too.

Gabriella picked up Emily's words easily. It seemed like so long ago when she wouldn't have been able to hear something of that volume. "Well, I would try to be modest, but what the heck," Gabriella said. "I think I did pretty good."

"Bloody hell," said Emily, handing the mirror back to her sister and looking at her in astonishment. "That's too modest. Brag about it, your wand-work is pretty damned amazing!" Gabriella really did need to flaunt her talents, she wouldn't be annoying about it.

Gabriella grinned, showing her own set of teeth, which weren't quite as perfect as Emily's, but had never bothered her. "Well thank you," she replied happily. She paused for a moment, remembering when she was getting sorted. The hat had wanted to put her in Ravenclaw, but had finally decided on Gryffindor.

Emily had to admit, sometimes she was jealous of Gabriella. She had Ravenclaw-brains like Hermione but was sorted into Gryffindor, automattically making her the "favorite," until she started going out with Isaac. But they still liked her better. "They look amazing, Gabs. But it feels different, all the sudden having your teeth in the right places. I'll get used to it, I suppose." said Emily.

"I'm sure you will," Gabriella said, still smiling. Her thoughts went to how she was a vampire and the fact that she still wasn't quite used to that. And then they went to Isaac. Her parents didn't know that she was going out with him again. She had told Hermione about breaking up with Alec, but hadn't the courage to tell her about Isaac yet. Surely they would kick her out this time.

Emily could see it in her sister's eyes. She was brooding over something, but she didn't quite know what that something was at the moment. Not wanting to pry and make her sister angry she let it go. "Want to go for a walk or something?" Emily asked.

"Sure," Gabriella replied, getting up from her kneeling position. Emily knew she was thinking about something. Gabriella figured it must be pretty plain on her face because everyone always seemed to know. At least Emily didn't ask or anything. She didn't really know what to say about Isaac and her parents. Gabriella began to walk, making sure her sister was following.
