Angel dragged herself in to the Three Broomsticks, she wasn't scheduled to work this evening, but was completely stressed out. The weather was far too cold for her to go swimming, even as an otter. So she decided to get a drink. Not get herself drunk, Angel was far too smart for that business, just a little something to let her unwind. She seated herself at the bar, not removing her cloak, since people were going in and out. "What'll it be?" said the woman behind the counter. "A firewhiskey please," said Angel politely, pulling out her enchanted coin purse. She could fit anything in there. "What size?" asked the woman. "Just a small one." Angel replied. "Will that be all, Angie?" the woman said, then blew a bubble with her gum. "Yes, thanks Phylis." said Angel. Before her co-worker could tell her the price, Angel slid three sickles and a knut across the counter. Phylis nodded, then brought Angel her drink. She took a sip, it stung at her throat, but she could feel the stress going away already.

The old door creaked loudly as Gabriella pushed it open, her mind clearly elsewhere. She came up to the bar, sitting down next to Angel, but not really noticing her for the moment. It was only when Gabriella bothered to breathe in that she noticed her cousin was next to her. Gabriella turned to her, noticing that Angel was drinking firewhiskey. Well, that was definitely abnormal for Angel, but Gabriella didn't bother to say anything. After all, she was here for the same thing. "One firewhiskey please," Gabriella said, sliding the amount over to the woman behind the counter, who handed her the firewhiskey. Gabriella uncapped it and then turned back to Angel. "Hey Ang, what's new?" she asked.

"Running around like a chicken with its head cut off, trying not to collapse on the floor from exhaustion, and I'm out of my mind with worry." Angel said wearily, then took a sip of firewhiskey. "You know, the usual." She didn't know how on earth she was going to drag herself back to the castle. But that didn't matter, she had a few hours before the Three Broomsticks closed, it was only eight thirty...

Gabriella nodded, feeling sorry for Angel now. Her cousin had a lot on her plate with all of her classes and Wolfgang being in the Quadwizard Tournament. Gabriella was glad Isaac was safe and sound in Hogwarts. "The usual..." Gabriella mused with a small sigh as she took a sip of firewhiskey. "Not a very good usual, is it?" Gabriella had planned on becoming the vampire version of drunk, but now that Angel was here, she would be more conservative. After all, even a little bit electrified her senses.

"Chaotic," Angel said wearily, then took a rather un-ladylike gulp of her firewhiskey. "To say the very least." She was so uptight, even when she got herself buzzed she was still prim and proper. Angel didn't know how she would behave if she got completely drunk, but she wasn't planning on doing so. Not tonight.

Gabriella nodded to her cousin and took another gulp of the firewhiskey, feeling her energy level shooting up now. But Angel's words were keeping Gabriella rooted into reality for now. "I'm sorry, Angie," Gabriella replied with a frown. Her poor cousin, she had so many things to worry about.

Angel didn't respond at first, she took another sip, savoring the throat-tingling sensation. Her firewhiskey was half gone. Maybe she would go for a second glass. She was unsure of what to say, she was grateful for Gabriella's sympathy, but at the same time, she didn't really want it. "You don't have to be," Angel said, fingering her glass.

Gabriella nodded, figuring Angel would say something like this. She didn't like pity or anything of the sort. Gabriella took another large gulp of her firewhiskey, pretending not to notice that it was almost gone. "Well, whenever you want to go swimming or anything, just let me know," Gabriella replied. "I hardly sleep anyway, these days."

Angel nodded, she wasn't planning on going swimming tonight. She was just going to have a drink or two, then go to bed and sleep it off. Not that there would be much to sleep off, since she wasn't going to get herself drunk like Ariana did sometimes. Angel took a sip of her firewhiskey, then set her empty glass on the counter. "Another round please, Phylis." said Angel. Her co-worker nodded, then refilled her glass.

Charles flounced in to the shop, wearing his usual flamboyant attire. He was wearing royal purple robes that had darker purple stripes on them, like tiger stripes. The shirt he wore beneath them had ruffles down the front and he was wearing black dress pants beneath them. His shoes were an obnoxious hue of lime green. He made his way up to the bar, ordered a butterbeer, then sat next to Angel. "Hellooooooooooooo dears!" Charles greeted his cousins.

"Me too," Gabriella told the woman named Phylis, just before Charles came in. She paid the woman and took a sip of the second glass. "Hey Charlie," Gabriella said as cheerfully as she could muster. If she and Angel hadn't been talking about such depressing things, Gabriella would probably be dancing her day off on the floor by now.

"Hello Charles," Angel said, her normally kind and motherly voice tainted just a bit with her recent bout of minor depression. Everyday things were hard now, and being permanently weakened at the ball last Halloween didn't help. She no longer possessed the energy to complete the things she once did. She would resign from the Quidditch team next term.

Charles couldn't help but notice the glumness in Angel's voice when she replied to hiss over zealous greeting. He could just tel that she was fretting about Wolfgang and his being in the Tournament. He couldn't blame her for it, but she ought to have a little fun sometimes. He laid a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Oh Angie, don't worry so much. Wolfgang is a big boy, he'll do fabulously and come back home and sweep you off your feet!" Charles said kindly, giving Angel a wide grin.

Angel had to work really hard at returning the smile. She just didn't really feel happy at the particular moment. What she really wanted to do was burst into tears. But hopefully, Wolfgang would do fine. The first task was yesterday, the owl would probably be waiting for her on the sill of the Ravenclaw common room when she got back.

"Oh Angie," Charles said, working hard at keeping his smile. Angel was like radium, only with emotions. Her sorrow was very contagious. Well he wasn't going to have any of that. "I'll treat you to some fried potato skins," Charles offered, then before his cousin could respond, ordered some with cheese and pepper.
