At a Distance (Luke)

Luke grinned as Isaac's eyes came back to normal. He could see the old glint back in them, the one he had seen so often in their younger years. "Let's go!" Luke said, jogging toward the castle, waiting for Isaac to catch up.

Isaac barely had to walk to keep up. He strode fluidly and effortlessly, making it seem easy. He still had his wand out, twirling it slowly between his fingers, pondering what spells would be needed. It would be great to have Luke's help, he was the brainier. Isaac couldn't help but grin, this was going to rival the brilliance of flooding a corridor chocolate syrup last year.

Luke rolled his eyes. "Showoff," he muttered teasingly to Isaac. He had a feeling this was going to be a good one. It was amazing that he and Isaac hadn't been caught more times than they had. They had pulled so many good pranks in the past. Luke pulled open the doors as he reached them.

Isaac gave a faint chuckle. This was going to take some getting used to. But eventually, things would return to almost normal. "All right, Mr. Brainiac," Isaac said teasingly. "I know we'll need a motion-sensing spell, but what about the applesauce?"

Luke pondered this for a moment. "Well, we'll just have to get some from the kitchens, won't we?" he replied in the same almost-teasing voice. "And then we'll levitate it up above, do some other randoms spells, and it will fall just as planned."

"How about an automatic refilling charm? Then it will keep filling itself up and we won't have any worries about refilling the stores." said Isaac, twirling his wand between his fingers. This was going to be great. And he would have all night to finish it, because he didn't need sleep. His only worries were the snobby prefects.

Luke read Isaac's mind again. "Hey, I'm one of those "snotty prefects,"" he protested teasingly. "But good idea on the refilling charm. That shouldn't be too hard to handle." He smiled at his best friend, glad they were back to old times.

"Alright," Isaac said, chuckling about Luke's comment at about he was one of those "snobby prefects," he didn't really act like one. "I'll fetch us some applesauce, meet you in the Charms corridor." said Isaac. He ran down to the basements, then tickled the pear. It turned into a green door handle, he yanked it open. Instantly he was swarmed by about fifteen house elves.

"Sure," Luke said, but Isaac was already long gone. Luke sighed and headed for the Charms corridor. He got there fairly quickly and picked out the places for the applesauce and the trigger tile. He levitated his shoe to the ceiling and performed the motion-sensing spell on the tile. He threw a pencil at the tile and his shoe fell from the ceiling. Luke laughed and picked up his shoe and pencil, waiting for Isaac.

Isaac had been behind of suit of armor with a small bowl of applesauce, and a few chocolates that the house elves had insisted that he had taken. "Boo," Isaac said simply, walking out from behind the suit of armor. "Nice spell. What's that yellow thing?" he added, gesturing at the pencil. He had never seen one before, being raised in a Pureblood family, and not bothering to take Muggle studies, Isaac didn't know these things.

Luke chuckled slightly. "It's called a pencil," he said. "The Muggles use them for writing. It's a lot easier than a quill, Hogwarts should certainly invest in some of these." Luke glanced at the applesauce. Excellent, they were ready to go.

"Huh," said Isaac wearing what Allison called his "thinking expression," it vanished quickly though. He never cared for muggle gadgets, he didn't need to use them, nor know how they worked. Pencil... That was an odd word. "All right, the weather in the Charms corridor will be raining applesauce on innocent passer-by this afternoon." Isaac said, imitating a news caster he heard on the Wizard Wireless.
