Farewell *Jasmine*

Jasmine looked away. "What good are you to me dead?" she muttered, breaking away slightly. She went and cried. She cried and cried, until the tears were gone. She was devastated, felt like her chest was being ripped apart. It was one thing over the summer when they were dating and she didn't know where he was. It was another now that they were engaged and she did know where he was, and the chance that he could die became greater as the flight to France grew closer.

Ryan sighed. Nice he thought. Nice way to say good-bye, make your girlfriend think you're gonna kill yourself He slumped against a tree. He closed his eyes and slid to the ground. He couldn't think straight. Everything seemed to be crashing down on him.

Jasmine waited for the final hug. The final kiss. It never came. She sat down on the ground, waiting. Waiting for what, she did not know, but she waited. She was beyond crying, beyond tears. She could only feel pain now.

Ryan felt like the ground disappeared beneath him. Everything was spinning and fading. It was fuzzy and all that was left in his mind was an image of Jasmine, crying. It tore through him so bad it actually made him cry. Everything went black and he couldn't feel anything. In the distance was a speck of light, and warmth radiated from it...

Jasmine turned around to see Ryan, unconscious. She quickly went and scooped him up. "Ryan, Ryan! I'm so, so sorry." she whispered, mysterious tears finding their way back down her cheeks. She was scared, confused, hurt, mesmerized, and worried, all at the same time.

Ryan could see in the distance Jasmine's face. Her tears. Her pain. Ryan opened his eyes and saw nothing for a moment. He blinked and everything came into focus. He slumped against the tree, confused and dazed. He had only had something like that happen to him once in his life, when he had found out about his mom. He couldn't stand to look into Jasmine's face, to see how she probably hated him now...

Jasmine wiped her tears away from her tanned cheeks and grasped Ryan's chin in her petite hand. She guided Ryan's eyes to meet her own reddened ones and she smiled. "Ryan. Go to France. Win. Bring home the money and we'll begin our new life together." she whispered, voice cracking. She lightly kissed him.

Ryan took a deep breath, inhaling her scent for the last time. He kissed her fiercly on the lips. "I'm gonna miss you and you're kisses the most" He sighed and stood up. "Bye..." He gave Jasmine one final hug. He dissapeared into the darkness, tears rolling down his cheeks.

Jasmine bolted up. "Ryan!" she cried, letting the tears fall from her eyes like rushing waterfalls. But he was already gone. "I love you." she whispered, hoping it was just loud enough to hear. She missed him already.
