Angel had went up to the owlery, amazingly, she had finished her homework for the evening. She frequently sought comfort in the windowless tower and the owls either sleeping or swooping in and out as they pleased. It reminded her of an open field, no limits, just doing as you pleased. An owl hooted shrilly at her. Angel looked to the sill and found herself looking at her mother's owl, with a letter addressed to her in its beak. Angel relieved the owl of its burden and watched it fly away. Puzzled, Angel opened the envelope and pulled out the letter. Dear Angie,
I read the newspaper and found out that Wolfgang was selected to be a champion in the Quadwizard Tournament. You should be proud of him. However, your father and I do realize that you will miss him horribly while he is gone. After much encouragement, I finally got him to agree to send you to France for the Christmas holiday, instead of coming home. Enclosed in the envelope is a plane ticket to France, don't lose it, we don't have the money to buy you another one.
~Mum Angel grinned for the first time in forever as she pulled out the plane ticket, looking from the letter, to the ticket, then back to the letter again. She couldn't believe her parents were allowing her to go! She was internally swelling with happiness and dread at the same time. The date of the first task was drawing closer, but she was going to see Wolfgang for Christmas!
