Different (Friends)

Ariana laid across the tracks. She stared at the fall sky absentmindedly. "If it makes you feel better I like you more than Alec, even before that thing with Scarlet" She gave him a small smile. Ever since she first met Isaac she had been a big bratt, and now she felt bad about it. She turned her head to one side, watching Isaac's reaction.

He gave a small smile, feeling his lips working rather hard at doing it. Like his muscles had forgotten what it was like to move in that direction. "I'm glad you think so." Isaac said. Alec, lying, cheating son of a bitch. Just thinking about him made Isaac clench a fist so tightly that his fingernails dug into his skin and every muscle could be seen on the back of his hand.

Ariana saw his fist tense up. "Wow, that bad?" She asked. She brushed her hand across the cold ground, covering it with dust. She brushed her hand on her jeans, smearing a huge dust streak. "Hmm...are you going to the dance with Gabby then?" She asked casually, sitting up, rubbing her dirty hands on her jeans.

Isaac shook his head. He wanted to take her to the dance, but he didn't think he would be able to handle it. All the people for one, then the frantic hearts of the lovestruck, and the dancing queens. "I don't think I'd be able to control myself." Isaac admitted.

Ariana nodded. "You don't give yourself enough credit" She frowned. "You can handle yourself just find around people, maybe not that many people. But you still have a lot of control" She sighed. Why did newly turned people always have to be depressed.

"You're very kind," Isaac said, straightening out his legs. Perhaps he would get up and follow the tracks all the way to platform nine and three quarters. But why do that when he could simply apparate there? "But it's not as simple as slapping yourself on the wrist. It's much more complicated than that." he said.

"I understand that but you're a good person, you have a good mind. Maybe your right, I don't know all there is to know about Vampires, but I do know it didn't change you one bit" She said. She didn't meet his eyes when she said that.

No wonder Ariana was a Gryffindor, she was so stubborn sometimes. Everything had changed. Isaac was physically unable to sleep, he usually felt depressed. His thirst was a constant beast, tearing at him. He had already killed... He had changed, regardless if Ariana wanted to accept it or not. "Very kind of you," Isaac said.

Ariana raised her eyebrows. "Did I detect a hint of sarcasm?" She asked sarcastically, watching Isaac's face. She pulled out the pain killer bottle and spun in around in her hands. It had become addictive since she had overdosed.

"No," said Isaac frowning slightly. He blinked slowly, it seemed that this movement was no longer involuntary, much like breathing. He only did these things as not to freak other people out. Isaac slid his wand from his pocket and began to twirl it between his fingers.
