Words (Gabriella)

Isaac walked out onto the pitch. Nobody was training, because of the Triwizard Tournament, the Quidditch season had been canceled. He mounted his broom and began to fly at a lazy pace around the stadium, thinking of what to say to Gabriella. He loved her. He really did. He didn't care about what his dad said anymore. Isaac ached for her, he needed to feel her in his arms again. He wanted to come right out and say; "Gabriella, I love you, I don't care about my dad, I care about you. I was stupid, I know you won't, but I'll ask anyways. Will you please take me back?" But he couldn't. Isaac sighed, then picked up his speed as he flew.

Gabriella's head hurt. The vampire had been controlling her again, but now it was only in her head. Just little things, like walking down the wrong hallway. She would try to resist, but it did her no good. She ran down to the Quidditch pitch, broom in her hand, ready to fly, hoping that when she did her troubles would ease away. As soon as she reached the pitch, she noticed Isaac's smell. Looking up, she saw him flying. Gabriella bit her lip a took a deep breath. "Isaac!" she called.

There was that voice. Isaac stopped dead in midair. Gabriella's voice rang in his ears. God, you're stupid! Move, Issac! Move! Issac thought, then collected himself and flew over to where Gabriella was. He gave her a small smile. "Hi." Isaac said.

Gabriella had set her broom on the ground by now. Her mind was held within a whirlwind of emotions, and she hardly knew what to say. He was...he was perfect, that's all she knew. "Uh...hi," Gabriella said, her voice still sounding calm, but the words themselves expressed her nervousness.

Isaac hoped off his broom and set it beside Gabriella's. Although his face reflected a calm composure, Isaac was scared out of his mind. He really wanted her back, but he wasn't sure what to do. "I heard Alec was sucking face with Scarlet Golden. Do you want me to break his nose for you?" Isaac offered. "Then maybe he won't be such a pretty boy anymore."

Gabriella could hear his heart pounding and smell his nervousness on him like a lingering scent and became relieved that he was as nervous as she was. She laughed without humor at his statement. "If I had wanted to, I would have done it myself," she said. "I do want to, but some things are better left unsolved."

That was deep. Isaac still wanted to punch Alec though. Gabriella was amazing, she did not deserve to be treated with such disregard. Isaac gave a nervous smile. Come on, you idiot. You broke it, fix it! he mentally told himself. "Gabs, I don't know how to say this-" Isaac began, feeling more nervous than ever.

"Since when do you call me Gabs?" Gabriella asked, grinning to break the tension. It was strange, though, Isaac had always called her Gabby, like many other people. But Isaac was serious still and Gabriella wanted him to continue. "Go on," she said.

Isaac gave a small smile in return, but because of how nervous he was, failed to see the attempt at humor from his former girlfriend. "I was a fucking idiot. Will you take me back?" Isaac blurted out. There. He said it. He braced himself for her refusal, knowing she most likely wouldn't take him back.

Very slowly, a smile crept across Gabriella's face. "I thought you would never ask," she said, positively grinning now. Her hand reached out and grabbed his. "I would love to take you back. Just let me fight my own battles. I can take your dad."

Gabriella's hand was cold, but Isaac had come to get used to it. In fact, the temperature was soothing to him. She was his again. "I never should have doubted that." Isaac said, still in shock of how stupid he really was for letting her go. "Are you still sure about Alec, though?" he asked, his tone lighter, almost joking now.

"I'm sure," Gabriella replied firmly. "I would rather that you didn't hurt him." For a brief moment, Gabriella imagined the satisfying crunch that would come if she punched Alec. She smiled slightly, but then her smile faded. She would have the advantage.

"Ah, well something are better left alone, or unsolved, or whatever you said." Isaac said, grinning sheepishly. Internally he was swelling with so much happiness, like a balloon being stretched to its absolute limit with helium. Isaac had missed Gabriella so much, he no longer felt depressed. For now, all was good in the world.

"Unsolved," Gabriella said laughing. She grinned up at him, looking into his blue-gray eyes that were several inches above hers. "I missed you," she whispered truthfully. She had missed him. It just hadn't been the same with Alec, and after Alec.

"I missed you too." Isaac whispered back, using his free hand to brush the strands of hair away from Gabriella's eyes. This was just as it had been long ago, and how it should be. Forget that lying, cheating Alec. He was a jerk, perhaps now he'd realize how much he would hurt when he would no longer be able to hold Gabriella's cold hand in his, no longer hear her beautiful voice...
