Late night fun *open*

Gabriella's words seemed to illuminate the room as she spoke and Alec was partially mesmerized. He squeezed her hand. "Definitely," he said, pulling her onto the dance floor and beginning a slow dance, knowing that she would take over with her usual style.

Gabriella's face instantly lit as she began to dance, her body moving in a way that only she could. All of her steps were perfectly in tune with his, but there was a certain spark missing that she couldn't quite calculating. And all of a sudden she began to feel tired. Luckily, the song was already over. Grabbing Alec's wrist once more, she pulled him back to the table. "Will you get me some punch?" she asked sweetly. As he left, she tried to puzzle out what was wrong with her and why she could not enjoy herself.

Scarlet scanned the room. Ryan could wait for another time. She spotted that Gryffindor she had taken a liking to at the snack table. Scarlet walked over and ladeled herself some punch, all of her Veela energy on the Gryffindor. She stood next to him, pretending not to notice him.

Jasmine took Ryan's hand and lead him to the dancefloor, grinning as she passed Scarlet.

Scarlet scowled at Jasmine. The boy was too dense to see her standing there. She groaned and kicked her Veela power into full kick. For the finishing touch she grabbed a random boy and led him to the dance floor, making sure she was in the Gryffindor's line of view.

Alec handed the punch to Gabriella, but his eyes were hooked on the blond girl, dancing with a random boy. A wave of jealousy overtook him. He couldn't go after them in front of Gabriella, though. He sat down next to her and sipped the punch, trying to pull his eyes away from the blond.

When the song ended Scarlet walked away from teh dazed boy. She sat at a table by herself, watching the dance. Maybe she should go up and study soon. She hadn't kept up on extra crerdit over summer and maybe she still had a chance to get ahead of the class...

Angel and Wolfgang had stepped out onto the dance floor. The song that was currently playing was slow, which was a good thing, for neither Angel nor Wolfgang were too gifted at dancing. Angel saw nothing but Wolfgang's eyes, it was almost as if they were the only living things in the room. Nothing else mattered. The song ended, and the two of them quickly made their way off the floor as a faster tune came up. "How about we go outside and be... Alone?" Angel whispered in her boyfriend's ear.

Wolfgang's lips pulled into a small smile at Angel's suggestion. He knew perfectly well what those words meant. "As you wish." Wolfgang whispered back, giving Angel a kiss on the cheek (he would have kissed the top of her head, but Angel was taller than him by about an inch). He led the both of them outside into the garden. Simple white lights decorated the bushes.

Scarlet called her Care Of Magical Creatures book to her with her wand. She opened it up and began reading about Centaurs. When she read, her Veela charm swirled around by itself. The dance seemed to fade away as she got lost in the world of reading...
