Remembering [open]

Aly brushed away the fresh tears that had leaked onto her cheeks. She could hardly remember how long her mother had been dead anymore, but the pain still reached her everyday. Now more than ever, because her relationship with her father was falling apart. Aly sat down on a bench and tried to remember Hermione's smile. She needed a picture, but she didn't have one. The thought only made her want to cry more. A twig snapped a little bit behind her and she turned to see...

Indago, pulling the hem of the four-sizes-too-big robes of a bush. Maybe she ought to make them a bit shorter. "Hello." Indago said dully, sitting beside her cousin. "I thought you might like this..." Indago began, then decided not to say anymore. She pulled a silver locket from her pocket. On the front it had an inscribed image of a raven, with dark blue sapphires where the eyes were. On the back, in beautiful calligraphy was "Aly Weasley". Inside was a picture of Hermione, on the other side was a shrunk family portrait. Indago held the locket out. "I enchanted it, only you or I can open it." Indago explained, lowering the locket into Aly's palm.

Aly's fingers clasped the locket. "Thanks," she said, looking at Hermione's smile. "It's just what I needed." Aly pulled the locket around her hair and clasped it. The locket seemed to dangle perfectly. "Where'd you get this?"

"I bought the locket in a muggle shop, I engraved it and stuff myself." Indago said, drawing her wand. She cut a few inches length off the hem of the robes. It wasn't a terribly neat job, but at least they wouldn't trip her anymore.

"It's really nice of you," said Aly. "Thanks." She fingered the locket again. "Why do you have such big robes?"

Oh great, now how am I supposed to get out of this one? Indago thought to herself. She really didn't like the idea of spilling it when others could be around, listening in. It's not that she had a reputation to be worried about, that was ruined for her a long time ago. But she didn't like the idea of everybody in the school knowing...

Aly noticed the look on Indago's face and decided it was a secret. "You don't have to tell me," she said. "I was just wondering..." Aly trailed off as a shadowy figure lurked behind Indago. "Look out!" she screamed, jumping up.

Indago whipped around. "You have three seconds to leave us the hell alone." Indago snapped. The follower laughed. "Right, I'm terrified of you, bitch." He snarled. Picking Indago up around the waist. She dug her wand into his neck, which only made him laugh harder. "Is your cousin always this feisty or is it 'cuz she's pregnant?" The follower asked, reaching to grab Aly too. "LEAVE HER ALONE!" Indago snarled. "Stupefy!" She cried, causing the follower to drop her.

Aly barely had time to react before the scene was over. She grabbed her wand and pointed it at the follower. Her jaw was open in surprise at finding out that Indago was pregnant. She supposed that made sense. She heard a rustling behind her now and turned around to face another follower. "Stupefy!" she shouted. She missed, but the follower began to run away.

Indago panted slightly, she hated those followers. She pushed the stunned follower against a tree and tied him there with rope conjured from her wand. "Let's go in before more of them decide to show up." Indago said.

"Yeah," agreed Aly. Still holding her wand, she ran out of the garden. And to think, she thought, that was such a peaceful place. "Why are they after you anyway?" she asked once they were out of the garden.

"Well, I've messed with their plans millions of times, killed at least 20 people in their rankings and evaded them murdering me more times than I care to count. They've all got a grudge against the Potters." Indago explained dully, not really standing up straight and sort of dragging her feet.

"I suppose that would be a good reason," said Aly. "That really must stink, though." Aly tensed as the trees rustled. She looked around and realized it was just the wind. Stop being paranoid, she said to herself.

There's no such thing as bad paranoia, keep on your toes. They'll attack the second you're off-guard. I've had them attack me at funerals and graveyards. Stay alert. Indago projected. It was true, she hated the followers, they were just a pain in her neck...

I know, it justs get old, projected Aly. I'm tired of sore and tense muscles. Aly didn't even bother to block the next thought that came to her. And blood. Aly looked down at her shoes. They were old and worn, she needed new ones. Just another thing to ask daddy for, she thought sarcastically to herself. She would buy them herself.
