Gabriella was glad when Isaac took her hand once again. It was in those moments that she felt like the old Isaac was still inside him somewhere. Gabriella just wished he would show himself more often. She missed having someone to talk to at home. She missed her husband in general. "I don't know what to do anymore," Gabriella admitted after a moment. Truthfully, she was confused about everything these days. What would they do with a child, after all? And should she take time off of work now or wait until she was about to have the baby? But the biggest question was the one about names for Gabriella. She had no idea what she would name someone. A name seemed like such a precious thing.

Isaac could only nod in response, words were hard to come by these days. He too longed for simpler times, when his greatest worry was what prank he was going to pull next and how he would get away with it. But Isaac had been forever changed, right down to his very soul. It as hard not to be when he had seen the things he had, was forced to take part in the torturing of others. A shudder snaked its way down Isaac's spine at the memories that flooded back to him. What kind of father was he going to be? He could barely take care of himself.

Gabriella didn't say anything for a few more moments, allowing a bit of silence to wash over them. Then she sighed. "We have to finish this house," Gabriella commented. Now with a baby on the way, it was even more important. Gabriella didn't want to raise a child in a half-finished house.

Isaac nodded. The house was all he had been working on of late, and ever since he had resigned from the team he had had even more time on his hands. Rennovating the old house gave him something to do, it kept his mind away from where he would rather it wouldn't be. "The bedroom across from ours would make a good nursery," Isaac said simply, fixing his gaze on his knees, as if it were too hard to look elsewhere.

Gabriella nodded, glad that Isaac had thought of something like that. "Yes, that would probably work," she replied. "I think we need upstairs is to finish the floors and some paint." They, of course, would need some new furniture, but Gabriella doubted that would be too much work, considering the fortune Isaac's family had. They could fairly easily buy anything they needed.

Isaac nodded once, he hoped that someday he might be able to respond with more than just a gesture, a movement of his head, but it just didn't seem realistic. The future was difficult to think about, the past even harder, sometimes all Isaac wanted to do was lay down and stare at the wall, not have to think about anything... He kept quiet, continuing to study his knees.
