Cici smiled as she took her customary spot at the staff table, it felt so good to be back at the castle. Thankfully, the trip back with Avice en tote had gone smoothly, hardly a hiccough in the arrangements. Her daughter was now in the care of Winky, an old, but capable house elf that was getting to be a little too slow to work in the kitchens. Cici found that Winky was delighted to have work to do after so long, it never failed to cheer her when she saw how eager house elves were to please.
As the last of the students filed in and the doors closed, Cici stood to her feet to deliver her speech. "Another year, gone," said Cici, smiling broadly, "each and every one of you has made me proud this year while I have been away; making this one of the smoothest years Hogwarts has seen in a long time." She paused, and then adopted a more serious tone, "I must warn all it may concern that a great evil is stirring. As all of you know, the term before last Isabelle Rivera, our former nurse, turned to the dark side of magic and fled the castle."
"While the Ministry remains in denial that this is happening, we must come together. I urge all of you to exercise great caution during your holiday, as the greatest weapons of dark magic are the very people in this room." Cici paused again, with the intent on letting her words sink in a moment, and then continued, "On a more cheerful note, the House Cup needs to be awarded! In fourth place this year is Hufflepuff, with three-hundred and sixty-five points. In third place is Ravenclaw with three-hundred and eighty-five points. At second place is Gryffindor with four-hundred and five points. And at last, first place for this term goes to Slytherin with four-hundred and twenty points."
Cici paused to accomodate for the cheering of the Slytherins, smiling a bit. Once the group had quieted, she continued speaking, "Congratulations to Slytherin, and to all of you for a fantastic year. Now, tuck in," Cici concluded. No sooner than the words had come out of her mouth did all the plates magically fill with food. She seated herself carefully, grinning as she served herself some boiled potatoes. It was good to be home.
