Quin could hardly believe he hadn't talked himself out of this yet, come up with another excuse for putting off letting Ron Weasley know he had a son. He bit his lip as he stood at the door, looking quite ordinary in his dark jeans, plain white t-shirt, and red Converse. Quin had worn his thick-rimmed glasses that day, and his hair was a little untidy as always. He took in a deep breath and let it out before ringing the doorbell.
Quin still had no idea how he was going to begin a conversation, or how one of the Weasleys would even react to him randomly turning up on their doorstep. Surely it wasn't a normal thing for members of Puddlmere United to just go around knocking on doors. Deciding he was just going to make it up as he went along, Quin took another deep breath as he heard the door unlock...

Gabriella was in the kitchen with her parents when the doorbell rang. She had come to tell her mother that she was pregnant, but had ended up staying the majority of the day. Gabriella was now in a better mood than she had been in a long time; it was nice to have some conversation after months of silence with Isaac.
"I'll get it," Gabriella chimed after the ring of the doorbell. She got up with ease from the chair in the kitchen. Her baby bump, while somewhat there, was still hardly noticeable and not really bothering Gabriella, apart from a bit of extra thirst. For that, she was grateful. Gabriella unlocked and opened the door. She was surprised at who was standing there and spent a moment trying to place him. "Brown, right?" Gabriella asked, vaguely remembering the Puddlemere beater from her professional quidditch days.

"Um, yes," said Quin, already feeling incredibly awkward. He mentally told himself to stop acting in this manner, unearth the braveness that had gotten him into Gryffindor all those years ago when he was eleven. "I wondered if I might have a word with Mr. Weasley," Quin said, at least managing to omit the "um"s, "is he there?" Unable to prevent himself, Quin shoved his hands into his pockets.

Gabriella thought that Mr. Brown sounded rather awkward, and appeared nervous as well, judging by his rapid heartbeat. Extremely confused, Gabriella nodded. "Yes, he is," Gabriella replied. "You're welcome to come in. I'll get him for you." Gabriella gestured him inside and then went to get her father. She entered the kitchen, quite puzzled indeed. "Dad, you have a visitor," Gabriella said to her father.

"Thank you," said Quin, but the girl had already retreated into the house. He stepped inside, already feeling even more awkward. He stood on the mat just inside the doorway, although his shoes were practically spotless, he didn't do a lot of walking around, much preferring to either fly or apparate. When Mr. Weasley came around the corner Quin had to swallow forcefully, there wasn't any turning back. "Quin Brown, the Puddlemere beater!" said Mr. Weasley, holding out his hand, "what can I do for you?" Quin shook his father's hand, feeling incredibly nervous. "Might I have a word?" asked Quin.
