Christian wasn't quite sure what he was doing inside of the Catholic church, for it was neither a Sunday, nor was he particularly religious, but the sanctuary had proved to be a refuge from the almost unbearable summer heat. As he plopped down in one of the pews, Christian wondered how ironic it was for someone with his name to not be of that particular religion. Not that he was directly opposed to religion, Christian just wasn't sure what to think about the concept.
He casually pulled the hymn book from its wooden shelf on the back of the pew in front of him, flipping through the pages. Christian was glad to not be at home, at least for the moment, he didn't like being there when his father was, on the off-chance he might be cornered and pressured to join Isabelle. That, he was opposed to. Christian might have had doubts about religion, but one thing was for sure, his father wouldn't even think of looking for him here. The youth, however, was not alone as the sound of footsteps alerted him to someone else's prensence...
