Nat walked down the steps, pulling Giovanni's enormous sweatshirt over her head. His favorite Irish football teams logo was faded on the front. She stuffed the latest papers from the muggle court into the pouch, hoping to fill them out when she got the chance out here. She always gained a better mood when she inhaled the fresh air, and felt the earth's vibrancies beneath her feet.
The hypogriff pen entered view as she hopped onto the fence, watching the proud creatures walk gracefully. Nat grinned, reaching her hand out as she bowed to the creature. It returned the respectful gesture, before nudging her hand. She felt her hand tingle with disbelief, as it always did in times like this.
The wonders of nature were unbelievable. And this world had remained invisible to her for so long. Even more beautiful than the one she felt she had left behind. She laughed, no longer a foreign sound to her as it had once been. It was nice. No matter how hard she worked to stretch her vocabularies, she realized time and time again that sometimes only simple words can describe the most breathtaking of things.

Raug apeared quietly with Ivy on his shoulder. He saw Nat and instantly began writing in his codex. Nat: Knows to bow to hypogryphs The ink began to disapear as Raug quickly added her basic apearance and love for herbology. He then aproached the young girl.

Nat winced, shocked that she hadn't heard Raug's approach. She smiled, hopping from the fence. "Is that Ivy?" She asked, reaching hesitantly for the bird. She kept her hand a few centimeters in distance, allowing the bird to accept her first. "You must love animals," she noted quietly, smiling at the ebony bird. "May I ask, why a raven? They're quite symbolic."

"I'm quite a fan of celtic history, Are you familiar with the goddess Morgana?"
Raug nodded at Ivy who then hopped onto Nat. Ivy, very unlike Raug, was very sociable. Ivy shared Raugs curiosity, to a lower extent, and was willing to do anything to get information.

Nat grinned as she patted the elegant bird. "The goddess of death, correct?" She asked, studying the bird. "These are some of the most intelligent birds. They can be taught to speak with human-like speech patterns," she glanced at him. "Are you familiar with the muggle poetry of Edgar Allen Poe?" She asked curiously. Muggle literature fans in this school were found few and far between. It was quite a disappointment.

"Ivy mimics me from time to time but never says anything unless needed. Edgar Allan Poe? Yes I'm quite familiar. A favorite of mine." Raug bowed to the hypogryph and waited for it to return the gesture. When it did Raug went to inspect it.
"Yes the goddess of death yes. She impressed me."

Nat grinned. He knew how to bow to a hypogriff. She had seen foolish muggleborns approach hypogriffs time and time again, unknowing of their proud nature. She surveyed the creature. And why shouldn't they be proud, she thought. This world never failed to surprise her with the wonders it produced.
"I find the Raven a suitable companion for you. They are said to be the bringers of death, and from what you've told me, you foresee deaths," she hopped on the fence, stroking the hypogriff once again, as she pulled out her wand.
"Accio," she gestured at a clothesline with dead ferrets and such strung in a grotesque manner across it. She dangled the ferret, feeling slight disgust, before tossing it to the waiting hypogriff, voicing it's pleasure.
"Do you think Ivy has an effect on your visions?" She asked quietly, watching the hypogriffs.

"I highly doubt it. She, if you get to know her, is quite clumsy. I could never see her bring anything other then my codex." Raug laughed. That was unusual. He never laughs. "Such a beautiful creature-" Raug said in awe.

Nat laughed, enjoying the chime of the boys laugh. It sounded unused. Raw. "Indeed," she agreed, leaning her head on the post. Moments like this always left her in awe. She had never imagined her life could have ended in such a way. She found herself laughing. Smiling. Her thoughts challenged. "Mind if I ask a forward question?" She blurted randomly.

"Ask away, but I must warm you, You will get an answer." Raug said intending to make the girl think hard. He had had people in the past disagree with his answers and Raug was punished severeky for this.

Nat opened her mouth, before closing it. That was an odd warning. She brought her knees to her chest, studying the boy. This had to be good. He didn't seem like the type to enjoy being badgered with questions. Nor was she the type to list questions created by the limitations of society.
"What's your story?"

"I cannot read an unfinished book, but I can tell you of it's current contense. I grew up with my mother in the muggle world, my father was there but I only saw his in and out of his studio we lived over. I suppose that's how they made money. He used magic to hurt me after I told him he would never achieve his dream. My mother had protected me for years but began to hate me as I aged. Eventually I was cast out. I went to my," Raug paused almost confused,"grandfather and he raised me."

Nat had always known there was saddness in the world. She felt often as if she had encountered a fair amount of it. But every once in a while, she felt blessed, knowing others had it worse off. It was a sad moment when she reailzed she was speaking with one of those unfortunate few.
"I'm glad you found something better," she was unsure if she would call it happy. It was obvious that when one had a scarred past, happiness was harder to find. This she knew.
"So, being raised in the muggleworld, what do you think of Hogwarts?" She asked curiously. Hogwarts for her had become her sanctuary.

"Hogwarts? I see it as an opportunity to learn. Nothing more." Raug didn't think Hogwarts, like many others, was to meet friends. Raug didn't care if he had friends, If he needed someone he had his codex and Ivy. If need be he could talk to his grandfather.
"The muggle world was too restrictive for me anyway, I wasn't able to practice what my grandfather taught me at school..." Raug said his eyes clouding with memories.

"So you knew Magic before arrival?" She as jealous. She had studied books upon books for as long as she could remember, but still, she had never actually achieved a spell until Erik had taught her. The theory was understood.
The talent, she lacked.
