"I knew divination, Simple readings. I wanted to learn other things my my grandfather refused to teach me. He said I wouldn't understand the meaning of magic if I used it for anything and everything." Raug thought back to his childhood. "He though I would challenge my father.:

Nat was shocked by the frank honesty. At the same time, she felt honored someone would trust her wtih that. She didn't know Raug near well enough to know weather or not his grandfather's theories would have been proven true. Most humans, according to statistics, would have indeed attempted revenge.
But Raug was different.
"Would you?" Nat asked quietly, unsure if she was overstepping boundaries. Boundaries had always confused her. More variables. More unknowns.

"I wouldn't give him the satisfaction that he got to me. Though I made this clear to my grandfather, He remained adamant."
Raug thought that if he were able to get another opinion on this matter, his grandfather would teach him more alchemy.

Nat nodded, unsure of what to say. That was more mature than most humans, let alone a fellow first year. She glanced at him.
"Perhaps you'll learn what you want to at Hogwarts," Nat offered. She had always been optimistic, even when it didn't make sense. Optimism was an unexpected variable in life, one that she felt should come up more often.

"Perhaps. Then again I could just as easily try and fail." Raug sat on the groung and began writing in his codex while observing the majestic animal.
"I'd have to find someone who knew alchemy, Alchemysts are few and far between."

Nat nodded, understanding.
"First place to always try is books," she smiled to herself. Books always had the answer. "Although I doubt Hogwarts places a great deal of stock in Alchemy," the last part was more to herself as she thought aloud. The entire concept of Alchemy had been of interest to her. Not to learn, but merely to know.
"How did you ever take a liking to Alchemy?" She asked, glancing down at him from her perch on the fence.

"I've always liked muggle science. The basis of equivalent exchange is simple. Yet so many things can change..." Raug rambled.
"I have some refrences," Raug said pulling a thin book out of his bag," I have it in my codex so you can keep it." Raug handed the book labled 'Morettis notebook'.

Nat took the book, eagerly scanning the first few pages of notes, finding it new and unknown. She gratefully hugged the notebook to her chest, grinning.
"I'm in your debt, really," she smiled, flipping to the first page as she hungrily read the notebook.

"It is my grandfathers notebook. He has many illustrations of circles and his writing is legible. You should be able to do something easy. Origami perhaps. It teaches the destruction and reconstruction that you need know." Raug felt as if his new... friend? would like alchemy very much. Perhaps to the level he was at. In understanding at least.

Nat grinned her stupid grin. She always had hated her grin. It was too much like that of Giovanni. However, it was too much of a thrill to find new information in her hands and not grin like an idiot.
With books, it didn't matter what you looked like. Nat had never looked like other girls, she realized this when moving to the UK. But books didn't judge, and they still gave you everything they had to offer.
"You're amazing," she smiled, closing the book to run her hand over it in admiration. "I'll return it, I promise," she looked at him with a smile. No one did such things for her. No one understood what it meant for her.

"There is no rush. I have a copy in my codex. The information has been collected and archived. Right, Ivy?" Ivy stared at Raug and then gave a slight nod.
"Ivy knows everything I have in there." Raug laughed. His bird was his partner in crime.

Nat smiled. "Ivy is the most impressive bird I've seen," she complimented. She thought of Maka, who had been too tired from a night of mouse hunting to accompany her anywhere today. Maka had seemed to have made friends throughout the castle, ever the social being.
"How did you find Ivy?" She asked curiously. [/center]

"Very un-eventfully. She,when I studied outside, would stand precariously beside me. As if reading. Began to feed her and we bonded as my grandfather calls it." Raug glanced at his bird who was perched on a nearby tree. "Nothing interesting happened until out information gathering missions."

"That's sweet," Nat smiled. Smiling had grown more accustomed to her as of late. She remembered when it had once been a foreign concept, almost hurting her face. Now, there was so much to smile for. She cast her gaze upon the hipogriffs once more. Such beauty as that gave her hope.
"It's always wonderful to have a friend like that," she thought of Maka, sleeping in a lazy ball on her bed. The small innocent kitten had given Nat inspiration to keep going, being rejected from her litter and left for dead, as Nat had been. Yet Maka always seemed to have love and affection to spare.

Raug offered for Ivy to land on his arm. Ivy hesitated then flew over to him. Raug smiled at Ivy, who in turn glared back. Raug had had some good times with the avian. He wouldn't trade her for anyone. "Yeah, she's quite a talker."
