"I'm sorry Ivy, but owls can be quite friendly." Raug said walking up to the owlry with Ivy on his shoulder. His raven, though loved by many, didn't like being inside. Ivy was not too friendly with the owls either. If only there was another place to keep her.
"I'm sure you'll be fine, but you'll still need to watch over my codex. I think if I leave it with you it will be more safe." Raug arrived at the owlry doorway, he had always had a fear of owls. Stories his father told him about large owls stealung away young children in the night kept young Raug from sleep. "You should be fine here, Ivy. I'll visit soon," Ivy hopped to his now raised arm, "to add information to the codex." Raug gave his raven a small roll of parchment, his codex, his life. His grandfather had given his three peices of paper that, he said, would keep words forever. Raug simply need to write down his information and it would disappear until needed as the codex saw fit. Sadly he had no one to share this grand treasure with. Recently he had been lost in the excitement of school, making him unable to learn anything advanced.
Raug turned as his raven left. With it, his happiness and sanity.

Nat climbed the stairs exasperatedly. She ran a hand tirelessly through her thick hair. She hadn't had the time to keep up with it as of late. In her hand another muggle court pack of papers. It was touching. It gave Nat hope that Erik would fight for her custody. She rubbed her cheek at the thought, still slightly swollen from Giovanni's temper. She swallowed the lump in her throat, entering the owlery.
"Oh," she whispered, stumbling on Raug. She managed a distracted smile, running a hand through her hair again in exasperation. She took in the boy. "How are you?" She asked. He seemed off. He seemed distracted, which was odd for someone like him.

Raug was lost in thought, he was trying to think of a way for Ivy to continue staying with him. Transfiguration possibly. He was just going to go the library when he saw Nat.
"Hello, Nat. I'm doing alright considering I'm no longer able to keep Ivy with me." Raug said dismissing the thought of transfiguration. "You'd think Ravenclaw would be more accepting."
Raug didn't like being seperated from his raven. She was his first friend, his confidant, his protector.

Nat gathered that Ivy must have been his raven. She laughed. "You would think," she agreed. "You don't look too thrilled," she noted, leaning on the wall. She stuffed the papers quickly into her back pocket. She had no need for any one to realize what was going on with her life. Especially Giovanni. When word went around to him, it wouldn't end well.
"The Owlery is a great place though. Hardly anyone goes there. Wonderful place to think," she suggested as optimistically as she could.

"And send important papers" Raug hinted. He was almost able to predict her thought processes perfectly. "A letter to mom?"
Raug laughed at himself. He had never sent a letter to his parents, they didn't deservd it. His father would probably hurt Ivy anyways. "I usually do my thinkings in the morning, That's the time when I over think less." Raug had a tendency to over analyze every little detail. Even in his clothes, his tie had to be completly straight, his pants perfectly ironed, and his shoes clean. He was, to say the least, a perfectionist.

Nat couldn't describe it. The words almost stung. She resented her mother, and she realized no one knew that. That was how she liked it. But sometimes it was hard to hide it.
"Very important indeed," she managed a small smile. "To my mother, no," she added. She laughed knowingly. "Over-thinking will be the death of one," she grinned. "But I suppose it hints to a higher intelligence. I'm impressed," she changed the topic from herself quickly.

"As only a fellow Ravenclaw would know. I suppose it could hint towards intelligence but it could also hint at insanity." Raug countered. He did not like to be reffered to as intellectual.
"I have seen my death many times, Then I over analyze them and it changes, so my death comes from my analycizes."
Raug began to sense the subtle tension around Nats mother. Not deciding to persue this issue he asks "Who are you sending a letter to then? Ordering books?"

Nat was impressed. That was intense. "Many of the most intelligent people of the muggle world, were indeed considered insane," she stated. She realized she had no idea if this was one of those pure-bloods who studied muggles through books and magnifying glass, or if he was thrown into this new world as she was.
She inhaled deeply. These letters were burning a hole in her chest, suffocating her. "They're court papers," she traced the bruise on her cheek, slipping into thought. She blinked, looking back at him. She managed a smile.
"You must be the most fascinating person I've ever met," she stated frankly. "You foresee your own death?" She had never heard of it. Divination and such had always been her weak point, which she would never admit to any soul that she had a weak point.

"The future is ever changing as my grandfather says. A powerful wizard said not to dwell on dreams though. I feel that there are many against my predictions. Especially my mother." Raug whistled for Ivy, he had new information he needed to record. When Ivy arrives Raug begins to write. "Who is that man?" Raug askes Nat?
Once Raug stopped writing he asks "Would you like me to fix that? I have used Episkey many times." And Raug had. Too many times.

"Was that quote from Dumbledore?" Nat was unsure. She hated uncertainty. It left her with a lesser feeling. Leaving her feeling ignorant. The ultimate evil in this world and that of muggles was always ignorance. She watched him scratch across the parchment. "You record things?" She asked, not really expecting an answer. "Fascinating..." She paused at the next question.
"What man?" She traced her cheek gently, before bringing her hand down again. She swallowed, blushing. "If you wouldn't mind," she whispered, brushing her hair from her cheek.

"Episkey," Raug casted and healed Nat "The one who did that to you." Raug said monotonously as he went back to writing.
Raug had seen many different things in his life. This was less common to see. He didn't like it. At all.
"It was Dumbledore by the way."

Nat rubbed her healed cheek, storing that spell away for future times. She had almost been afraid to heal it, afraid to anger him further. Afraid that if she gave him a blank canvas, he'd paint it purple again.
"Thanks," she murmured distractedly. She studied him again, as she found herself doing every time she learned something of this mysterious boy. She realized, he was not the type who would breath solemn words to other people in jest. She swallowed, knowing she should be able to speak of it, but it was as if her throat had closed completely. She glanced over her shoulder, although no one came from the spiraling stairs, and no one was in the owlery, she still feared that the wrong person would hear.
"My brother," she whispered, despite the early morning hours. "But it's nothing," she dismissed quickly. She was not a dramatic person. Drama irritated her. It only added more unknown variables in the equation of life.

Raug continued to write. "If it was nothing there would be nothing. You also would not be whispering. He is not a student is he?" Raug asked inquisitively. Raug looked at Ivy, who flew and began to circle the pair looking for possible on-lookers and possible students coming to the Owlry.

Nat studied him. She wondered what he was writing. Her insecurity made her think it might have been about her. Of course manners dictated not asking. Plus, she didn't want to know if it even was about her.
"It's nothing," she repeated, although the truth of his words were clear to both. "He is a student. He'll be graduating soon anyways," she said blankly. She struggled to find anyway to shove the attention from herself.
"Did you find the answer you were looking for the in the Herbology book?" She blurted.

"I took notes in my codex about it, It has not apeared to me. Therefore is is unimportant. My codex helps me that way." Raug stopped writing and pocketed his codex. Those peices of parchment were his lifeblood, without them he would be lost.
"This brother of yours does not please me. Let's hope those papers solve the problems."
