Elliot yawned as she shuffled into the Three Broomsticks, it had been a long, though interesting, day at work. She and a few coworkers had dealt with a hostage situation, things had been tense, but they had managed to get the two hostages to safety even if one of the criminals had evaded them. No doubt that would be Elliot's next assignment to track him down. Though at any rate, she felt that she deserved a drink at the pub and then a quiet night at home. Elliot seated herself at the bar and ordered herself a sherry instead of her usual favourite grenache. She wasn't sure why she had gone for a drink out of the ordinary, but it sounded good. While she waited as the pub was rather busy, Elliot pulled a cigarette from her cloak and poked it with her wand to light it.
She took a long drag on the cigarette, waiting for her drink. Though she didn't blame the barkeep for not getting to her straightaway, there were quite a few others that needed tending to. When the busy bartender finally got her sherry, Elliot nodded her head at him, and gave him an extra large tip, simply because she knew what it was like to be very busy. She took a sip of her sherry, holding her cigarette aloft. A rush of fresh air told her that someone had entered the pub. Unable to prevent her curiosity, Elliot looked over her shoulder only to see...

Dominique walked down the street with a bounce in her step, her blonde curls dancing over her shoulders merrily. Her shift at the hospital had not long ended and she was to be heading home, but had decided instead to drop by the Three Broomsticks, after dropping by the Auror office to catch her cousin, Uncle Harry had said his daughter may be at the bar.
Pushing open the door to the bar, she looked around the constant smile still on her face as she spotted her pretty cousin sat at the bar, but frowned slightly when she saw the cigerette. Shrugging slightly, she waved at Elliot when the other girl turned to face her and made her way through the bar, settling down on the stool beside her, "Hey cuz, how you doing?" she asked, shrugging off her jacket and laying it over her lap.

Elliot smiled when she saw that it was Dominique, although at the same time felt her throat tighten a bit. So far she had managed to avoid anyone in her family finding out that she smoked, she guessed that the cat had been let out of the bag now, she just hoped that Dominique wouldn't tell anybody. But as far as her friends went, cousins or otherwise, Elliot felt that Domi was probably the one who was closest to her. Truth be told, Elliot had been debating on a long while on telling her about the struggles she had had with anorexia, and still continued to have.
"I'm all right," said Elliot, taking a puff on her cigarette, she had been craving the nicotine and wasn't going to deny herself even though her cousin had found out. She held her cigarette aloft a moment so she could sip her sherry, it was a good batch and went down smoothly. "What about you, Domi? It's been too long," said Elliot as she tapped a little bit of ash of the end of her cigarette into the conveniently placed ashtray up by where her drink rested on the bar.

"Well missy if you weren't working all the time we'd be able to hang out more..." Dominique chuckled, ordering some pumpkin juice. Truth be told she wasn't much of a drinker, never had been she was one of those girls who didn't need a drink to have a great night out, all she needed was good friends, good music and a big dance floor.
Looking back at Elliot she smiled, "So how are you finding work, everything you thought it would be?" she asked, genuinly interested to know. Being a healer was everything she had thought it would be and more. It was only now she was realising how much she had actually missed Elliot, growing up they'd been closer than best friends which was why she knew Elliot wasn't exactly telling her the truth when she claimed to be fine.

"An Auror's work is never done," said Elliot lightheartedly, though she did know that she worked too much. Even her boss was noticing, forcing her to take some days off, go home early others so she wouldn't be doing overtime every week. But to be honest, she didn't really have any hobbies aside from reading to keep herself occupied when she wasn't working. Perhaps she would take up writing again, she had enjoyed it in her school years. It had also been a while since she had painted as well, maybe she would invest in an easel and some new paints.
She took another puff off her cigarette before answering. "Yes, actually," said Elliot, Dominique knew as well as anyone that she had wanted to be an Auror her whole life. She remembered being a little girl and running up to her father when he got home from work, excitedly asking him if he had caught any bad guys that day. "It's a lot of work, but I'm challenged throughout the day, I never do the same thing twice," Elliot added, "how are things at St. Mungo's?" Elliot sipped her sherry before taking the final drag on her cigarette and then putting it out in the ashtray.

"I've heard that said before but you my friend work way too much." Domi said with a small laugh, whilst wagging her finger at Elliot. Tucking her hair behind her ear she looked around briefly before facing her cousin once more, "St Mungo's is the same I guess, I love it so much...helping people, working with them, it's everything I could have wanted and more."
Dominique smiled, she truly did love her job with all her being, it was one of the most rewarding things she could imagine doing and she'd met some amazing people through it. "I do think we need to both forget about work for one day and spoil ourselves." she said pointedly.

"I'll work on it," Elliot said truthfully, knowing that it probably wasn't good for her to work so much. Though that wasn't quite as important to her as getting over her anorexia. One lifestyle change at a time would be the best route for her, especially since she already had problems with anxiety. Change was a difficult thing for her, she could handle it, but it took her longer to adjust. Elliot nodded, glad that Dominique was enjoying herself at the hospital, the job seemed to be tailor-made for someone like her cousin, who was very much a helpful people-person.
Elliot sipped her sherry, although it was good she would only be allowing one glass for the evening. She hadn't gotten completely drunk since January when she had been completely intoxicated in the Hog's Head and had nearly been taken advantage of by an equally tipsy man three times her size. "How so?" asked Elliot, she wouldn't say no to some shopping, or perhaps going out dancing, or even just hanging around in the pub for a while. If Dominique would be with her she would allow herself a little more sherry.
