Nix lowered her head and sniffed at the ground until she caught her own scent and nodded before turning back to gage and tapping her tail again his side ,"see the small rock there, it opens a dug out passage but you need to unlocked it and I'm currently stuck in the way of spell casting" she said in both answer to his question and in a requesting tone too. She then flicked her tail away again so as to not be to forward and turned her head to look at the sky and found herself wishing it was darker, more clouds or more moonlight atleast

Gage watched a moment as Nix continued to poke around the ground, until at long last she tapped his side with her tail (it was an odd thing for him to think of, his friend having a tail) and and spoke to him again. "All right," said Gage, reaching into his pocket and pulling out his wand, looking at the rock. He didn't know what spell he was supposed to use, though he figured that a simple charm would do just fine. Nix didn't seem like the type to put overtly complicated spells on an entrance to a tunnel. Gage did as requested, generating an opening where the rock once was to a tunnel. It looked awfully narrow, he was mildly claustrophobic, but as long as they didn't have to go far he would be all right.

Nix stepped back as gage opened the tunnel and nix dipped her head in thanks before stepping in to it, she knew different sorts of magical things took refuge in these warm tunnels she had dug out so she always preferred to check them before allowing humans to walk down through them. Her nose twitched as she walked and she didn't catch the smell of anything so she paused and waited to hear the sounds of gage walking behind her and the tunnel closing over and locking again. She felt a drop of mud on her head and rolled her now bright Amber eyes at the feeling of it dripping back over her furry neck before shaking herself a little to try and make the feeling go away

After Nix went in Gage took a moment to take a couple of deep breaths before heading in. Enclosed spaces had always bothered him, he supposed that was the reason he enjoyed flying so much. In the air there was an unlimited amount of room, nothing restricting or pressing in on him. Gage was already uncomfortable, and the fact that the tunnel immediately closed behind him didn't help the feeling. He smiled a bit as Nix shook herself after some mud had landed on her head, though the falling mud made the experience if anything, worse. It made him almost feel as if the whole thing were beginning to cave in. Gage allowed himself another deep breath and kept moving, the sooner they got out the better.

Nix caught the sound of gage's breathing behind her and nodded her furry head before beginning to pace her way through the tunnel. It was a deep tunnel but a short one too, they only had to go down a bit before the tunnel snaked up to the left and opened out beside a broom shop that nix knew all too well. She chuckle to herself for a moment before walking a bit faster as she picked up gages uneasiness from his breathing

Gage was grateful when Nix quickened her pace so they could get through the tunnel faster- he didn't want to spend any more time underground than what he had to. He had to admit that he still found it sort of strange that Nix was an animagus, yet hadn't told anyone but him. What had made her decide that he was trustworthy enough to know that information? Gage wasn't sure, though he probably wouldn't ever truly know his friend's motives, and wouldn't pretend that he did. He began to feel slightly relieved when he could feel them going up at an incline, they must be getting close to the end.

Nix felt the ground become harder under her paws and nodded her head again then wished she hadn't, her ears scraped the ceiling of the tunnel and more mud dripped on to her head before she gave a sigh at her own stupidity. She soon reached the point where she could smell the wind but now she needed to find the stone around here that she'd rigged to open to her paw and her paw alone. It took her a moment of placing her paw randomly over the floor before the tunnel was filled with moonlight and nix smiled and started up towards the exit with mud dripping down her sides once again

Gage stopped behind Nix, finding himself remaining surprisingly calm as she searched around where the tunnel dead ended. He assumed it was to find some sort of switch or something to open the door, he hoped that she would find it soon. Gage may be keeping calm, but that did not mean he necessarily liked being underground. He smiled when the passage finally opened, moonlight flooded in and fresh air! It felt almost liberating in a way. "Ladies first," said Gage, falling into pace behind Nix and only then realizing how filthy, not only his hands, but his entire person was. Not that he particularly minded.

Nix chuckled at gages words as she stepped out of the overly warm tunnel and in to the cool air of the night above her and she shook herself a little away from the tunnel and sent mud in directions but it was fine. She lifted her head to see the broom store with it's back window open and a light on inside it and she considered going over to see what was being worked on, she flicked her tail to one side to send the last of the mud again before padding slowly towards the open window and lifting her head to peak inside at the work table she knew lived there

Gage stepped out, smiling and shaking his head at himself and how messy he had gotten. At least they were done with the tunnel for the time being, though he would have to suggest an alternative route back. He didn't want to go back underground if he didn't have to. "Hey, watch it!" Gage said playfully with a smile as Nix shook herself off and lightly spattered him with more mud. He followed behind Nix to the window of the broom shop, peering in above her to what looked like a workshop. "Isn't that something?" Gage whispered when he spotted the broom on the table. It really was a thing of beauty, a newer model.

Nix chuckled as she heard gage behind her and shook her head before flicking her tail to touch his side, "a friend of mine lives and works here, this is where I stay in the summer. That there is a broom I've been working on myself recently, it's a firebolt with many an edit on it so it flies and turns faster. I'm still working on the balance of the handle so it's why I can't have it at school yet but she's all mine" she explained as she saw the word lightningblot gleaming on the redwood handle of the broom before hearing footsteps in the shop and chuckling to herself

Gage emitted a low, quiet whistle as Nix explained about the broom on the table. He was as enthusiastic about brooms as some muggle men were about cars. They fascinated him, and went hand-in-hand with his passion for flying. He felt that perhaps if he didn't make it in professional Quidditch he might try his hand at building brooms. "You'll have to give me a go once you've got it figured out," said Gage quietly, "it sounds mighty impressive." Gage slipped out of view from the window when he heard footsteps within the shop, he wasn't sure if he ought to be seen straightaway, even though Nix had told him that the person who owned and lived in the place was a friend of hers.

Nix watched tain walk down the stairs that lead to the home above the shop and considered saying hi but thought of it for the moment and lowered her paws from the windowsill and hit the ground softly. She sniffed at the cold air before nodding her wolfy head and starting to walk towards the street, "no one else around, moonlight night, looks like we'll be having fun" she said to herself with another wolfy chuckle as she paused to wait for gage to keep up, paws were faster than legs of course

Gage was fine with the fact that Nix wasn't going to introduce him to her friend that night, he never minded meeting anyone as he was very much a people person, but there were other things that they could be doing- as Nix reminded him as she passed. Gage smiled a bit, and walked at a brisk pace to keep up with his friend's four paws. "Where shall we go next, my friend?" asked Gage as he stepped out into the moonlight, smiling. It was great to be outside, and somehow being outdoors at night was even better. It was liberating in a sense, it fed his soul the same way that flying did.

Nix smiled as gage asked her for her plans and she chuckled softly and flicked her tail to tap his side again ,"hey now, ive done all the thinking so far, I think you should have a go for a change" she said with a smirk as she fought back a laugh before flicking her tail away as her nose caught the smell of fresh bread and current buns and she twitched her ears to listen for the location of the cook and their food. She was a hunter and she had tried far and rabbit and other forest animals but she was and always would be a human before a beast so she would take bread and buns and skip rabbits and rats if she was ever given the chance
