Marvel entered the pub, Galleons clinking around in his pockets. He'd come to Hogsmeade for the day to wander around and grab a butterbeer on his free time. It was a rare occurrence, for the boy not to have been working that day, but he wasn't complaining in the slightest. It was nice to have a little spare time to himself, rather than have to work inside the stuffy Menagerie. Granted, he adored his job and loved the animals he got to work with on a daily basis, but it was a refreshing change, smelling the brew and food and the chatter of people, rather than the smell of sawdust and owl droppings accompanied by the chatter of the menagerie.
Sitting at a table in the corner, he produced a book from his bag, as well as set the Galleons and his wand upon the table. A waitress came and took his order, a simple butterbeer, and disappeared once more. Opening the book, a rare smile crossed his features. The Ravenclaw rather enjoyed charms, and before him was a small book on charms that Hogwarts would never bother to teach their students, claiming they were too challenging. Marvel scoffed at the very thought, finding many of the charms within the book to be rather mediocre. His butterbeer was brought to him, and the amused smile grew as he grasped the mug and took a sip.

Izzie had never been much for a drink, but lately she had been needing something fiercely. So though Hogwarts had let out for the summer, she made her way over to Hogsmeade, not wanting to risk an encounter with another member of her family. None of them could really be told about the sorts of things she had been up to lately and she didn't want a loose tongue and a friendly sibling to spill her secrets. Nor did Izzie want either of her parents seeing her with alcohol in hand. She wasn't planning to drink too much, though.
Stepping into the Three Broomsticks, Izzie immediately felt better. She stepped right up to the bar and ordered herself a firewhiskey. However, the stools were largely occupied, with the exception of a spot between two burly men. Deciding not to sit there, Izzie glanced around the place, hoping to find someone she could converse with. At last she spotted a boy in the corner. She had seen him before, of course, but Izzie had never really noticed him until now.
Grabbing her firewhiskey from the bartender, she started over toward the boy, who, upon closer inspection, was reading a charms book. Izzie smiled, already thinking she had made the right choice. Charms was always near the top of her list for the best topics of discussion. "Hello," Izzie said when the boy didn't immediately look up. "Mind if I sit here?"
((OOC: I was thinking that Marvel wouldn't immediately recognize her as a Malfoy. What do you think?))

Marvel had been completely engrossed in his book when, out of no where, a voice rang out. He moved his eyes from the page towards the girl he vaguely recognized. Still, Marvel wasn't too good at placing names with faces, though he figured that he would have remembered someone's name with a face as pretty as the girl's before him. He wasn't a materialistic person and didn't normally admire good looks, but the female was undeniably pretty. A rare smile pulled at his lips and he nodded.
"Go right ahead," Marvel replied, eyes watching the girl inquisitivly, then transferring back to his book. "Forgive me," he added, bringing his eyes up from the page once more. "I'm not too terribly social. I'll talk back, don't worry, but I don't usually say much," he replied, realizing how arrogant and outlandish the words sounded coming from his lips.

Izzie set her firewhiskey down on the table and promptly slid into the seat opposite the boy. She figured he was a bit of a queer one, since he was reading a charms book that clearly wasn't taught in school. Probably a Ravenclaw. But Izzie considered charms to be dead useful, so it wasn't quite so odd.
She burst out laughing at the boy's ridiculous words. Who said things like that anyway? Izzie quickly covered her mouth with her hand, trying not to appear rude. Still, she thought it was rather funny. His honesty had surprised her, that much was for sure. "Well, that's alright," she said once she stopped laughing. Izzie wasn't too terribly accustomed to unsocial people, so she figured she should probably be nice about it at least.
"Is your book interesting?" she asked before taking a sip of her firewhiskey, feeling the familiar burn as it went down her throat. She noticed that the boy had a butterbeer and wondered if she should have gotten something less strong as well. But she hadn't anticipated coming across such a character when she had come to the Three Broomsticks.
