New arrival (prudence)

Nix found James soon grabbing for the quill and nix made sure ti hold it steady but far away to encourage him to lean forwards as the nurse had told her to do and James did just as he needed to, he leaned forwards just a little and grabbed the end of the quill and remained sitting up for a few seconds before letting go and falling back in to his mothers arms. Nix smiled at this before dropping the quill to her lap and then tucking it in to her bag so James couldn't see it to want to play with it anymore he seemed more happy to be batting at the hair that had fallen over nixs shoulder for the moment.

"if you wanted then me and Jamie could come see you some time if you think you'll be out for a bit after hazel's born, I'd even be happy to babysit the pair if you needed healing time. "it's what's friends are for" and all that jazz" nix said as she turned her head back across the table to her friend again and she noticed the slight worry appearing on prudences face and wondered what was concerning her now.

Prudence finished off her water, forcing down every last gulp. She had never been much a fan of just plain water, she would prefer to drink tea, or at the very least carbonated water instead of just still, tasteless water. Though ever since she had become pregnant Prudence had found her sense of taste was much more sensitive, even water had a distinct flavour that she could not describe. Though she mentally reminded herself that it was for the baby, and the odd taste seemed to vanish slightly. She smiled lightly as Nix played with James, encouraging him to reach for the quill with his chubby little fingers.

Prudence smiled a little wider when Nix offered that they might come out and see her whilst she recovered- there was no doubt in her mind that she would be out of action for a little while. Her health had always been a fragile thing, and she was weak anyway, she wasn't sure how her body was going to react- and the healers seemed quite intent on keeping an eye on her. They had even requested she come to the hospital for the birth, rather than do it at home as she had wanted. "I'd like that," said Prudence, though she didn't imagine she would ask for any babysitting unless she found herself bedridden- she sincerely hoped that would not happen.

Nix smiled at the idea of her and prudence sitting in some huge house that prudences father owned and they were both drinking tea while sterling sat with the kids and tried to amuse them both while prudences father sat quietly in the corner and said nothing but smiled softly. Of course nix had never really met him so her image and idea if him were most liking miles away from what he was really like but she could wish and dream, she was good at that after all.

A small whine from James alerted nix to a part of mothering she had never liked and knew she would never have and she sighed, she'd managed her food and now it seemed she had to leave the company of her good freind. "James and I shall need to find a bathroom to change sir stinksalot, so I think we'll have to leave you now" nix said with a chuckle as she made to stand up slowly without bumping herself or James
