Emily watched Gage with a smile, chuckling lightly as he began tucking into the porridge in front of him. He was obviously a lot more hungry than she'd realized, training must have been intense. "Whatever you want, my pet," he said to her making her smile again at the use of the nickname. "Well there's a couple good things showing so we'll have a good few to pick from..." she said, picking up another piece of fruit with her fork.
Emily loved being at the cinema's, she always found some great comfort watching films. Her favorite of course was 'Singing in the Rain', it was her feel good film for when she was ill, though it was only her Father who knew that, it was their thing. "I'm sure their showing those old Alien films...could be fun." she said with a smile, already being a little bit of a fan of the film franchise and she was sure Gage would know them, after all he was muggle-born like her, they'd grown up with movies, unlike their peers at school.
Taking sip of her drink she looked around the diner and smiled softly, her eyes drifting slowly back to Gage. "So when does your team start playing away?" she asked, wondering when he'd start going away for matches. She was sure as hell going to be trying to get to his games. There was no doubt it would be hard trying to work it around school but she at least wanted to be there for his first game, support him.
Part of her felt slightly nervous, now he knew she was ready, now that they'd established that things were sure going to change soon. When, she wasn't sure, but at least they were on the same page now. " I was hoping I could convince you to come to a barbecue my parents are throwing for our street next week...interested? she asked, only having just remembered she'd told her Mum she'd get Gage to come. He still had yet to meet her parents properly.

Now that he wasn't speaking Gage returned to shoveling down his porridge until there was nothing left in the bowl before turning his attention to his pancakes. He picked up the little silver pitcher filled with syrup and dumped the entire thing onto the stack that was six whole pancakes high. Really, this was going to be the best breakfast ever- he hadn't fully grasped just how hungry he was until he had started eating, and now Gage felt like he couldn't eat enough. Thankfully he still had an almost full banquet around him- though he still had a hard time believing Emily would be full off just a bowl of fruit.
"All right, sounds good," said Gage. He had gone straight from school to training, so he hadn't been spending much time keeping track of what was and was not in the cinema. He didn't think that he had so much as looked at the television since summer started. Mainly because Gage didn't like spending time at home, it was lonely for the young man. His parents barely paid him any attention, and they worked most of the time anyway, leaving him to his lonesome in the house. Hence why he was eager to move out, and perhaps get a dog to keep him company during the day.
"You know me well," said Gage, smiling. He liked to watch old movies, especially old horror ones since they tended to be more funny than scary. He figured that could be fun, especially if it turned out to be a consecutive showing of the series. He didn't have anywhere to be, lord knew his parents didn't give a damn what time he came home. It was perhaps the best advantage to having parents that didn't really care all that much about him, he didn't think he had had a set curfew since he was twelve.
"Season starts in July, opening match against Ecuador and I've got a ticket with your name on it," said Gage, smiling. He got three tickets a match to give to whomever he wanted, though he couldn't think of anyone he would rather have there than Emily. He switched from pancakes to his eggs and bacon, taking a quick break for a sip of coffee. "Sure, I'll try not to eat too much," said Gage, smiling. From what he had heard from Emily her parents were great, and he figured that with how long they had been seeing each other he ought to meet them.

"You know me well,"
Emily smiled, picking up a grape from her bowl, "I sure hope so, we've been dating long enough." she said with a small chuckle before popping the grape into her mouth, reaching for her drink. Gage was like her when it came to films, she loved the old horror ones, especially Alien, it was number 3 on her top ten films list, right below singing in the rain and A Christmas Carol. It was insane how much she loved having someone to talk about this stuff with, someone who actually knew what she was on about.
"Great. Well I'll be there, the embarrassing girl-friend in the front row, cheering you on." she joked, sticking out her tongue at him, before returning his smile, excited at the prospect of going to his first match. There was no doubt in her mind he was going to completely blow everyone's mind with how good he was, she'd seen him on the Quidditch pitch at school and he was by far the best player she'd ever seen..though it was possible she was slightly biased in her opinion.
Taking a sip of her tea she smiled over at Gage and nodded her head, "You can eat as much as you want, Dad always goes overboard...and it'll more than likely run late but I understand if you can't stay..I know how early your up." she said with a smile, using her fork to pick up a piece of strawberry, excited again to know he'd be coming to finally meet her parents who were incredibly eager to meet the guy making their daughter so happy. She had after all gone on about him loads in all her letters back home.
"I know they'll love you, just like I do." she said, with a soft smile, popping the strawberry into her mouth as she watched him continue to devour the feast in front of him as though he hadn't been fed in a long time. She felt she should at least try eating more but her appetite wasn't that big, so she was satisfied with her fruit bowl.

Gage chuckled slightly, though he was a bit too involved with his food for much conversation. That was just how he was, he ate first and then he talked. Mostly because he was always starving. But he was an active young man, and he needed to keep up with all the energy he spent by what he ate. He polished off his bacon and eggs before migrating back to the pancakes- though he still felt like something of a black hole had formed in the pit of his stomach- like it was absorbing everything he consumed before he had an opportunity to feel remotely satisfied.
Gage smiled, glad that Emily had agreed to come to his first real match, though he hadn't thought that she would refuse the offer. It was even a home game, so there wasn't any extensive traveling required. Though with apparation and the Floo network even if they had to go to Ecuador it wouldn't take but a moment to get there or back. "You could never embarrass me, my pet," said Gage, beaming fondly before returning to his half-eaten stack of pancakes. He was looking forward to the day ahead of them, he couldn't think of what he would do had Emily not turned up. Likely resumed his search for a flat.
He figured that on his pay he could more than afford a house, though he didn't have any idea what he would do with that amount of space. He didn't really collect anything that he could display in a house, it would be empty since he hadn't the foggiest idea about decorating. A flat was better suited to his needs, even if he did want to get a dog. "Well then, they sound like my kind of people," said Gage, smiling. He figured with all that Emily told him about her family that they would get along well enough, which could only be a good thing, especially with how serious he felt about her.
He continued attacking the stack of pancakes, it was fairly thick and was likely going to take him the longest to eat his way though, but he of course would be able to do it. He was still hungry, after all. "I can stay as late as you want me to," said Gage, waving his hand as if it weren't of any importance. If she wanted him there, he would be there. She took a few seconds to take a sip of coffee, now finally feeling like his stomach wasn't going to digest itself. "I hope so," said Gage.

"I should warn you about my Dad though...he's eager to learn as much as he can about the football game on brooms we play..." she said imitating her Father's voice with a frown. Rolling her eyes she shook her head and laughed slightly, popping a grape into her mouth. She'd tried many times to explain to her Dad the rules of Quidditch but he still didn't seem to get it and often persuade her to play football and explain whilst playing that.
She looked at Gage and chuckled, watching as he all but attacked the stack of pancakes in front of him. She shook her head unable to get her head around how much he was eating, it kept her amused. "I warned you before don't be saying that...I'll have you sticking around all night..." she said with a smile. It was the truth, she hated him leaving her anytime, it was like no amount of time with him was enough...God only knew how she was going to get through being at Hogwart's.
Sure Gage had promised he'd see her when he could, but it was still not going to be the same. A year would fly by quickly she was sure, soon it'd be Christmas, then Easter and then she'd be taking her exams and then she'd be finished with school and what came after that she didn't know, hopefully it was something involving Gage and figuring out what the hell she wanted to do with her life, because as of right now she was at a complete loss.
"Sure they will, how could they not." she said with a smile finally finishing her bowl of fruit. Pushing it aside she reached for her tea, taking a small sip as she looked back at Gage. "You sure your going to be able to move away from the table after all that?" she asked playfully.

Gage chuckled, he was certain that the idea of Quidditch, or even magic in general, was fascinating to muggles- unless of course the muggles to which one was referring happened to be his parents. They had asked a few questions here and there, though at large seemed totally uninterested. He was sure they would suddenly be talking to him a whole lote more once they realized how much money he was making, but Gage was reaady to do all in his power to make sure they never saw a dime of it. It wasn't right, they had practically ignored him all his life, though if they started paying attention to him once he had something to offer...
As far as Gage was concerned, he was done with his parents- they had reached sort of a mutual understanding that they weren't meant to be close to each other. They worked too much, anyway. Gage ate dinner alone most nights, he had actually gone so far as to start teaching himself to cook so he didn't have to scavenge for leftovers. Really, the only difficult part for him was measuring- his dyslexia made it a very slow process with plenty of room for error. "It won't kill me," said Gage with a shrug, "I can always sleep after training."
That much was true, his days thus far were virtually empty, having little to do other than scan the paper for flat ads that caught his fancy. His mind wandered a bit, mostly to how he was going to make it a whole year without seeing Emily every day. He figured it would go fast, he would have his training and the Quidditch season to keep him occupied- he would be going all sorts of places in that time. Hopefully he might be able to get Emily to go on the circuit with him, at least when she was on holiday, though he figured her parents might also want her home.
"True, I am loveable," said Gage, giving forth an over-exaggerated beam before taking the last bite out of his stack of pancakes. Now that just left the toast and the fruit. He spread a generous amount of marmalade on the first slice, mostly in hopes that it would cover up the taste of the patches that had been burned. "Of course, my pet, and I'll be more than ready for lunch come noon," said Gage before digging into his toast.

Emily nodded her head when Gage mentioned he'd be able to sleep after training, but she didn't say anything. They had a guest room, she knew if it got to late her parents wouldn't mind him using it to sleep over. They were pretty liberal when it came to most things, they'd draw the line of him sleeping in the same room as their daughter though so guest room it was...if he needed it that was. With how things were getting lately the last thing Emily wanted was for Gage to be going home alone after night fall.
Was she a worrier, yes she was and she had no problems admitting it. After Ascella's death on Hogwart's grounds, Emily had quickly figured out things were getting way too dangerous and that poor Auror who'd died in her own office, it was becoming painfully aware none of them were safe...they were vulnerable anywhere, even the self proclaimed safest places around.
Barely able to repress a shiver she looked out the window, seeing the street growing busier. At Gage's words she rolled her eyes and laughed lightly, "Well that's three hours away, so you my dear will have to be patient." she chuckled, shaking her head at her boy-friend. Come lunch time the most she'd probably eat is a sandwich, like previously mentioned she wasn't much of a big eater and knowing her she wouldn't even get through that, she'd probably eat half at the very most.
It was strange there'd been a time when her appetite would have rivaled Gage's but lately it had lessened considerably and the only biggish meal she had was at dinner time and even then it wasn't much and that was if she even had anything anyway. "Well we'll go catch a film after lunch then grab dinner after the movie if you'd like...?" she asked, finishing off her drink and using a napkin to wipe the corners of her mouth. Brushing her hair back over her shoulder she smiled at Gage, satisfied now from her breakfast.

Gage figured that Emily would likely insist that he get his rest at the appropriate time, but he figured that he would be fine as long as he didn't make a regular habit of it. He might even be able to manage once a week- so long as it did not conflict with a game day or their double-training Thursdays. Really, he was excited for when the season would begin, granted, he would have only had a little less than three months to prepare, though Gage had every confidence that he was going to do well. Truthfully, at some point in his career he wanted to break the record for fastest snitch capture.
It might be a difficult thing, as the record had stood unbroken for over a century, and for good reason. Six and a half seconds was a very fast capture indeed, and was likely the result of either undetected cheating, or sheer dumb luck. Though Gage was determined he might do it eventually. He polished off his first slice of toast and then immediately reached for the second, this time opting for strawberry jam over the marmalade. He paused between slices for another sip of coffee, however, he head needed to wash down the first one.
Gage's eyes traveled to the window as Emily's did, the clouds looked just as gloomy as they had when they left the stadium, though now the streets were beginning to get busier. People leaving their homes, heading to work, the daily grind. He thought amusedly at the fact that his workday was already finished, leaving him to spend the day as he pleased. Granted, he had gotten up at four thirty in the morning, but now it was nearing nine and he had already finished with work and had rather been enjoying his breakfast. And really, it had only been three hours of actual work.
"Ah damn," said Gage, pretending to be disappointed, though it would be enough to hold him over until it was an acceptable time to eat lunch. Though he wouldn't even mind having an early one. That was just the way he was, Gage could eat, and eat a lot. He forcefully swallowed an overlarge bite of toast as Emily suggested what they could do. "Sounds good," said Gage. He was very flexible as far as Emily was concerned, most of the time he would be fine with whatever it was she wanted to do.

Emily rolled her eyes at Gage and laughed lightly, his ability to eat not something she was likely to get over any time soon. She envied him somewhat when it came to that. "Okay then it's agreed, though before lunch I was hoping we could hit another shop. I need to pick up my new outfit for the BBQ, they said they'd have size today..." she smiled sweetly, hoping he'd agree. She knew he would, he always seemed so flexible when it came to doing things together, but she knew most guys drew the line at clothes shopping. Though in all fairness it wasn't like she'd be trying things on...her size had been specially ordered so they were already aware it'd fit.
"I'll be right back..." she said, smiling softly as she excused herself from the table to use the bathroom. Closing the bathroom door behind her she went to the mirror and lay down her bag on the side before running her fingers through her hair to fix it. Quickly she began to touch up the lip gloss she wore, before stepping back from the mirror. Reaching in her bag she grabbed her phone and quickly sent a txt to her parents letting them know her plans for the day. Washing her hands she grabbed her bag and headed back out to Gage.
Seeing him sat at the table still eating she couldn't help but smile softly, her heart skipping again. Walking over to the table she came to a stop behind him and leaned over to wrap her arms around his shoulders, before dropping a kiss onto his cheek. Pulling back she smiled again and walked around the table to sit down, "Did you miss me?" she asked jokingly, shooting him a smile as she crossed her legs beneath the table.

Gage inhaled his second slice of toast just as quickly as the first, finally beginning to feel somewhere near full, though he would be able to finish the order of fruit and his cup of coffee no problem. He swallowed as Emily finished explaining that she had ordered something or another in her size and that they needed to pick it up. He wasn't terribly thrilled about going shopping for clothes, even now with the money that he had he would go in, grab something in his size and leave. Though he knew that Emily wasn't the type to meander in stores, at least not while he was with her, and he appreciated that.
But he could more than easily stomach going into a shop while she picked something up. "That's fine," said Gage, he would be fine popping in so she could pick up what she had ordered. Gage nodded as Emily excused herself from the table, as his mouth was quite full indeed. In her absence Gage finished up his toast, and just as quickly consumed his bowl of fruit, and was now left with just the last few sips of his coffee. He signalled to the waitress that he was ready for the check, hoping it would come before Emily got back so he could quietly pay for it.
Thankfully it was on the table, and no Emily in sight. Gage dug around in his wallet for his muggle money, fishing out the appropriate amount plus a fair tip for the waitress. He placed the cash at the end of the table for the waitress to pick up, smiling as his girlfriend came back. "Terribly, my pet," said Gage, and then added, "I'm ready to leave when you are."

Emily wasn't soft, she knew Gage had quickly paid for their meal because she'd caught sight of the waitress leaving their table when she had been returning, but she was also good enough not to say anything to Gage. If he wanted to pay that was fine, she had no problems doing it herself and he knew that, she figured she'd allow him to get away with it this once, after all it was only breakfast.
"I missed you too." Emily teased, sticking out her tongue to Gage before laughing lightly. She wrapped her bag over her shoulder and tucked her hair behind her ear as Gage announced he was ready to leave. "I'm ready." she said with a nod and a smile, the smile widening somewhat when se caught sight of an elderly pair of women seemingly talking about her and Gage...she knew this because they were pointing and smiling.
Shaking her head, Emily laughed softly and reached out to take Gage's hand giving it a small tug as she stood up from the table. "Lets go then babe..." she said, her bag swinging at her side as she rounded the table and headed towards the door, thanking the hostess as she passed. Pushing the door open Emily stepped out on to the street, now happily ready for the rest of the day ahead of them.
