"I can't leave them to wake up without their mother like I did" nix said in a much stronger voice than she expected after sterling spoke. And then it wobbled and gave it again as she finished her sentence ,"I wouldn't be able to forgive myself. It was hard enough with James" she said before she leaned her face softly into the chair beside her. "I miss you, I miss the house, I miss having someone beside me. But we can't keep the house with one income and I couldnt work knowing my children were at home without me" she said weakly. She lifted one hand to rub at the tear streaks on her face and sighed, at least now he knew she still loved him and she did miss. And yet he knew the reasoning for her actions too. She rubbed her cheek against the chair beside her, wishing it was his hand and he was holding her but she also knew that on some level the boy still was angry at her and she was angry at her too. Her actions wouldn't just be fixed by simple words, they needed to work together to work out what would happen next now. And nix didn't know what she wanted, so what she said next she wasn't sure of

Sterling once again dragged a hand through his hair, Nix was failing to make any sense to him in her supposed "reasoning." He frowned a bit, his own logic working through what she had just said. "So let me get this straight, you ran away from home, because you want to stay home?" said Sterling, hardly able to keep the incredulous tone out of his voice, "you might have just mentioned it and we could have worked something out. We'll downsize, go into a flat or a cheaper house- I can work more hours to bring home more money-" Sterling paused, he was talking too quickly, and getting dangerously close to raising his voice. He sucked in a deep breath and released it slowly before continuing. "Nix, I love you and I'll do whatever needs to be done," said Sterling, leaning forward and resting his forearms on his knees again, "but I need to know that you're in this, too."

*just had a mad idea! How about this goes badly, we have nix run off and grow herself a tail giving us a werewolf daughter? Like?*

Nix couldn't help but feel her skin prickle as sterling spoke again in his harsher tone ,"I left because I can't stay there any longer, I'll be trapped there once the baby is born" she said in a harsher voice as her anger bubbled softly under her skin. "you think the kids will be happy with their father never around because he's working? You think I would be happier somewhere else? Everything we had is gone and different now" she said before she turned her body and uncurled herself from her defensive ball ,"I love you, but unless you can understand this, I'm not coming home" she said before she blinked quickly. A hand shot down to her huge stomach and she spread it out widely as her child kicked from inside her, "shhh flower, I'm sorry I got angry" she said softly to the growing child inside

Sterling exhaled a heavy breath, now Nix was really being irrational. How would she be trapped? Nobody was making her stay but herself and her own guilt over not being home with the children. And who was to say that he would be working all the time? If she wanted he could stick to normal hours. She wasn't thinking, or at least not clearly. Sterling was now beyond frustrated, couldn't she see that he wanted to make this work? All he had done was offer solutions and now she was getting all difficult. "How can I understand something you're doing when it's entirely irrational?" said Sterling, finally caving to his frustrations, his tone rising slightly- but nowhere near a shot. He didn't yell, no matter how angry he was. "All I've done is offered my support and solutions to your perceived problems! What more can you ask of me? Yes, it'll be different, yes, it'll be hard, but it seems you're blocking me at every turn. I want to help, but you're not letting me!" Sterling concluded, straightening up once more, dragging a hand through his hair.

*well nix turning in to a wolf would be optional via her but the fetous would *logically* before forced to change form with its mother. And being forced to change form is one of the ways to become a werewolf*

Nix felt her skin prickle and as much and as hard as she tried, her animalistic side growled as sterling spoke. "well im sorry you dont bloody well understand" she hissed, lifting her hand away from her baby and glaring at its father. "i will not leave them to be along and suffer the isolation from their mother i knew, but im not giving up that house and all we made it in to. In that world ive already lost my job and thats hard enough, so why am i being "entirely irrational" becuase i dont bloody see it" she snapped and she felt her skin grow warm.

This made her heart pause and she blinked suddenly, she was getting too angry and getting too angry meant she could go wolf. Though a part of her was most happy with this idea and it meant she could go and be herself for a while and have fun, though another part told her about her Transfigiration lessons and how it was possible for her child to end up growing the worst of all consditions and she didnt want her baby to have to go through that. A small voice in her mind told her that if her child was infected, she would care for her as a mother human and a mother wolf when she needed to and this idea made her smile. She could be with her child when stering couldnt

Sterling narrowed his gaze as Nix essentially growled at him, now knowing that he shouldn't have come. Obviously his girlfriend wasn't ready to be the adult that she needed to be, making this conversation (that was slowly becoming an argument) more than futile. It definitely didn't look like anything was going to be accomplished anytime soon. "Well something has to give," said Sterling, "and it's not my fault that you can't accept that." His own tone was getting heated, though remained only slightly louder than what was used in normal conversation. Sterling was determined to keep his head, to not yell.

Yes, he might have made a wrong move somewhere, said a thing or two he might regret later, but Sterling didn't want to have anything weighing on his conscience. In that moment, nothing was. In his mind, it was all Nix, her being more stubborn than usual and failing to listen to reason. Or much of anything for that matter. And if she was going to be like that perhaps it might be better for him to just leave, obviously they weren't getting anywhere. But could this really be the end? Would he be able to live with that?

Nix felt her skin grow warmer and warmer as sterling spoke and she tried her hardest to focus on remaining calm but the words were getting through to her, and she couldnt hold her lip anymore. "Well then leave! If you dont want to try and understand then get out!" she hissed as she pushed up on her chair and stood up, she leaned forwards and wobbled on her feet as she did so but she recovered quickly. Her skin was burning and she knew if she shifted her child would be in danger and sterling would be as good as mauled, she turned away from him and looked towards the door and a jolt shot through her system. her heart quickened and she turned back to sterling as she felt her hair growing heavier, "get out" she growled as she turned towards the door and she rested a hand on her growing stomach. "get out before you see what you've done to me and your child" she said as she felt her head burning and lifted her spare hand to feel buldges coming from where her ears would see grow

Now she was just being entirely ridiculous, perhaps Nix was less of an adult than what Sterling had previously thought, just throwing him out simply because she didn't like what he was saying. Or, rather, insisted that he wasn't understanding something that made no sense whatsoever. Really, the whole thing was a mess. He shouldn't have even come, it had been stupid. Nix sure as hell seemed done with him. Maybe he'd be done with her, too. "Fine!" said Sterling, standing up and pushing the ottoman backward with his foot to avoid tripping over it. He knitted his eyebrows as she turned away, telling him to leave before he saw "what he had done." What in the hell was that supposed to mean? "Come talk to me when you're ready to be an adult," said Sterling in a tone that was more peeved than angry. Without bothering another glance at Nix, and thus not seeing the beginnings of her transformation, Sterling left the room, going straight for the door. He stepped over the threshold and with a snapping noise, was gone.
