Emily smiled brightly, excited by the prospect of seeing Alice but also possibly getting that alone time she needed so much with her fiance. The thought sent thrills coursing through her body to her center. Biting down on her lip she blushed and shook her head, not responding to him and instead continuing to look around. Taking a breath she tried to calm herself already otherwise she'd suggest they skip the meal altogether. As they approached the restaurant she smiled, it was a cute place, and at Gage's answer she chuckled softly.
"I think a beach sounds good...somewhere hot, engaging but also somewhere secluded where we can just be us for a while...we've spent too long apart. Call me greedy but I just want you to myself for a week or so..." she told him as they entered the restaurant and were led to their table. The thought of a secluded beach was one she liked, she'd never been anywhere like that and the though of being there with Gage, the two of them alone, able to take moonlit walks along the beach, wading in the water, making love beneath the stars, it was a happy image. "Sure we could find a villa or hotel somewhere like that right?" she asked him as they sat down.
For a moment she looked at the fountain smiling, before turning to the menu's. "Since this was your idea Mr, I'll let you decide what we have...tell me what's good." she told him, pushing aside her menu, leaning against the table and smiling softly. Really it was all she'd been doing all day, and surprisingly her face wasn't hurting yet, joking aside, she was feeling happier than she had in a long time.

Once situated at their table, Gage thought a moment on locations, really, there were any number of places they could go if it was a secluded beach that she was after. His first thoughts were someplace in the Caribbean, or somewhere like Mexico or Hawaii. Now was one of the times where he wanted Emily to be a bit more decisive, he wasn't sure if he could narrow it down on his own, there were just too many potential spots, all of which he were sure were pretty awesome in their own way. He smiled a bit at her saying she wanted him to herself, he liked the sound of that.
Really, he wanted her to himself, just have it be the two of them somewhere else in the world. Then they could forget about all that was going on over here and just be young, carefree newlyweds in an exotic place. And while saying money was not an object was a bit of a stretch, Gage did have the resources to take them somewhere nice. "Yeah, you can find that sort of stuff at any of those places," said Gage, "where sounds good? We could do Mexico, Hawaii, Jamaica..." He trailed off, having not learned much geography, he didn't know all the places in that area of the world.
He chuckled a bit when Emily gave him the reigns when it came to ordering as the Japanese place had been his idea. When the waitress came by, the daughter of the owners, a girl all of fourteen, Gage ordered their largest sushi platter, it had a bit of everything, and enough for two, so he figured that it would work. The girl went back to the kitchen, and even from their table he could hear her calling out in Japanese, smiling and lightly shaking his head, Gage turned back to Emily to hear her reply.

Emily smiled brightly, biting down on her lip as he went on to list a few places, asking where sounded good for her. "Jamaica sounds incredible, but so do the other two...maybe...maybe we could split our time between the three over the couple weeks?" she asked hopefully, really they were young, they had the money and best of all they could apparate which would save a good heap of money. They wouldn't have to worry about flights, just a place to stay. It was exciting to say the least but she would be alright if Gage wanted to stick to one place, they could always visit the others at another time.
As he ordered she sighed softly and watched him, waiting for his reply whilst smiling brightly at the obviously young girl who was taking the order. Hoping they brought a drink soon to settle her stomach, it was still a little bit of a nervous flutter because of the apparation. As they waited she reached across the table taking Gage's hand in hers, her engagement ring glittering on her finger. "Looking forward to seeing what you ordered us, feeling rather hungry, work was too busy to eat this morning..." she said, pouting slightly.
Looking around the restaurant she paused, feeling eyes on her and no sooner had she located the source than she turned away. A guy way across the restaurant, with his friends, sat there smirking at her and Emily shifted slightly ignoring him and his uncomfortable glance as she continued to look at her fiance, offering him a smile. "If you wanted my parents wouldn't mind having Alice when we go away for our honeymoon..." she suggested, though if he wanted his neighbor to mind Alice that was cool as well.

Gage could see that Emily was having issues deciding, as was he, there were simply too many places in the world that they could go to, especially since the only descriptor that his fiancee had given him was "beach." Though before too long she had suggested that they spread the time they have over the three places he had listed. That might make things a little easier. And with apparation on their side they would have much more time, not needing to dedicate any of it to traveling. "If that's what you want," said Gage, "I can go ahead and find places to stay and book them."
He smiled when Emily reached across the table to take him by the hand. He began lightly rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb, an absent gesture, and he smiled softly. It hadn't taken Gage long to grow accustomed to the sight of the engagement ring on her finger, really he had been ready to take this next step. Though he might not be the most mature, responsible person around, he did feel a great deal older than nineteen. He had seen some bad things, had come to terms with mortality at a young age, that wasn't something that exactly allowed for a completely carefree existence.
"I'm sure you'll like it, it's got a little bit of everything," said Gage. It was actually what he ordered when he came by himself, he would simply have leftovers for the next day. It was then that the waitress returned with a tray holding two glasses of water, as well as a teapot and two small cups, the customary green tea that the place served with most orders. She placed the beverages on the table before ducking back to the kitchen, likely to get their food. "If you're sure they won't mind I don't see why not," said Gage, though he figured he could probably ask Mr. and Mrs. Baker for anything and they wouldn't be apt to reject him.

Emily smiled brightly, excited again. "Great. They'll be incredible Gage...the culture, I cannot wait to experience it all..." she said, biting down on her lip mentally beginning to make a list of the things and places she wanted to see there. Drinks arrived cutting whatever she had opened her mouth to say short. Smiling politely at the young girl she waited till they were alone again before lifting a glass of water to her lips and taking a small sip, before laughing softly at Gage, laying her glass down and shaking her head, "Oh please, Mum and Dad love you, Mum is smitten with Alice...really they'd do anything for you." she joked.
Though the more she thought about it the more she knew it to be true. Her parents adored Gage, not a common occurence she was told, at least not with other parents and their daughters boy-friends. Maybe her parents knew just how right Emily and Gage where together, knew they were smart enough not to rush into things. Sure they were getting married with Emily just out of school but they'd been dating a long time and her parents knew this was the real deal, this wasn't just two crazy kids in love. Sure they were crazy about each other, but they'd been sensible, and most of all they seemed to trust Gage. He'd been accepted so easily into the family that Emily knew she didn't need to worry about her fiance when she was away at school.
"You know what we have to do...something I've always wanted to do, swim with dolphins and Jamaica has this alligator pond where you can actually get in and be up close to them...could be fun..." she said, mentioning only two of the things they'd possibly get to do. Brushing her hair back from her face she sighed, "Though when we get back I'm going to have to try and figure out what I'm going to be doing out of school..." she said, pulling a face, in two minds about her career, one said Auror, the other Healer but she didn't know if her heart was really into either.

Gage smiled at Emily's enthusiasm, he liked being able to arrange for things to make her happy, he liked seeing the way her eyes lit up when she got excited about something. Really, he'd be hard pressed to think of something that he didn't like about Emily. The young couple simply seemed to click together without having to think about it, they made a good team. Gage gently took back his hand to pour them both tea, ignoring the water for the time being. He lifted the handle-lacking cup to his lips, taking a cautious sip as the tea was still quite hot.
Gage chuckled a bit, it was true that the Bakers had taken to him immediately, the last time he went over Mrs. Baker had insisted that he start calling her "Mum," even though the wedding was still a few months off. And it was true that the woman fawned over Alice as if she were a baby... "Amazing how they are, Em," said Gage, sipping his tea again, "I might have thought I'd be met with a lot more resistance from them." Emily was, after all, their little girl, as well as their only child. Before they had met he had thought they would be fiercely protective of her.
He nodded along as she spoke of things to do in Jamaica, keeping them in mind. "That sounds great, both of them, actually," said Gage as the girl came back with an artfully arranged platter of sushi. He quietly thanked her before she dashed off again to take the order of the other table. Picking up his chopsticks, he nodded again when Emily mentioned needing to find her career path. Honestly, he made more than enough for the both of them, though he imagined she wouldn't be content to stay home with nothing to do. "Well, the Harpies have an open position if you're looking for a little spousal rivalry," Gage said jokingly, wiggling his eyebrows at Emily.

Emily followed suit of Gage and took a small sip of her tea as well after drinking a little of her water. Smiling softly she lay the cup back down, it was still quite hot but not too bad. As he began to praise her parents, Emily found herself smiling before she chuckled lightly at his final comment, "Yes well Dad wasn't your biggest fan, all changed as soon as he met you though...guess he realized I hadn't been exaggerating when I told them in my letters how amazing you were," she said, winking at him. It was true, her Dad hadn't been keen on the idea of meeting Gage, in fact according to her Mother he'd had every intention of scaring him off, thankfully though he'd realized just how great Gage was upon first meeting and welcomed him into the family with open arms.
Really he'd just been worried about her. Emily knew this and it was some sort of comfort, knowing how protective they both where. Showed how much they trusted and loved Gage as well giving their blessing on the marriage like they had. Her smile widened again as he agreed that her ideas sounded great, really she couldn't wait now and had to keep reminding herself it was only a few more months away till they were finally married. In another way it felt like forever and she was impatient, but compared to the 7 months they'd been apart, four months would be a walk in the park. They'd do it easily.
Again she laughed and shook her head after reaching for her chopsticks. "I'll admit it's tempting but I wouldn't want to embarress you sweetie..." she said, smiling and winking at him teasingly again. Shaking her head she shrugged and reached for a piece of sushi, pinching it between her chopsticks, "Besides I'm good but I'm not that good plus Alice needs at least one of us home to take care of her...I was thinking Healing maybe...but I'm not too sure yet, not sure I could handle all that not after..." she frowned and shook her head, before smiling at him, "Plenty of time to figure it out yet, I think I'm just going to concentrate on our wedding, the honeymoon...the rest can wait." she said, wanting to enjoy being free of school, being married for a while before settling down. Besides she'd soon have all the time she needed to figure that out, but part of her didn't want to wait too long and rely on Gage to support her.

Gage chuckled a bit, now that was what he had been expecting in the first place, but apparently he had made a good first impression. Not that he had ever had much experience impressing parents, the girlfriends he had had in the past were short things that happened during school years, not during the summer or any holidays when the opportunity to meet parents would arise. Gage had only met one set before Emily's, and they hadn't seemed to like him very much. Now that he was thinking on it, Emily had never met his parents, not that they had made any inclination that they wanted to meet her.
Though it would be a necessary thing at some point, Gage couldn't not invite his parents to their wedding, even if they had never seemed to care for him very much. At least they hadn't come running when they caught wind of the money he was making- he wouldn't stand for anything like that. "Well I'm glad he was convinced quickly," said Gage, smiling as he picked up his own chopsticks and selected a piece of sushi, not paying attention to the type before eating it, he had yet to come across a variety that he didn't like.
Gage mostly listened as Emily spoke, using the opportunity to eat, he hadn't realized just how hungry he was until he had put food in his mouth. He nodded along as she said she still wasn't sure what she wanted to do, had thought about healing but didn't know about it, though came to the conclusion that she had time. "Yeah, don't stress on it, wouldn't want to rush into anything you don't want to do," said Gage, pausing for a sip of tea before returning to the sushi.

"My Dad's protective of me to the point where sometimes it's smothering almost, but he said he knew instantly you were a good guy and he knew how serious we were and knew I wasn't someone who'd bring a guy home if I wasn't confident they'd like him..." she said, though Gage had been the first guy she'd ever taken home, back to meet her parents and he'd been the last. They were getting married soon after all and she couldn't wait. There weren't many people who could claim they'd found their better half so early on in life but she was one of those lucky few. Gage had been her first everything and if possible it made what they had all that much more special, at least in her mind. She wasn't his first she knew that but she didn't mind, he'd chosen to spend his life with her after all.
After that they ate in relative silence, though as always it was the comfortable kind. No pressure to fill the silence with mindless chatter, they were just comfortable to sit and share a meal. Emily though didn't eat much before declaring she was full, never one to eat a lot, but being with Gage more than made up for that. Even now, she still found herself fascinated with how much that boy could eat, but considering his profession and how hard he worked, she could understand it a little, he needed to keep his strength up. So sitting back she took her tea, taking a few small sips before finishing it and laying it back on the table.
"That was nice..." she commented, shooting him a smile. Part of her was really hoping he decided to skip the dessert though she wouldn't hold it against him if he wanted to eat some more. They had all day before she had to get back to school so they could still spend a good few hours together. The thought made her smile, though she wanted more than a few hours considering how long they'd been apart she'd accept it. After all it was a hell of a lot better than nothing. "So any ideas what we do for the rest of the day?" she asked coyly, already knowing what they'd be doing, or at least she was hoping so.

Gage only nodded, he might eat obscene amounts in a downright impolite span of time, but he wasn't one to talk with his mouth full. Actually, he wasn't much of one to talk over dinner, he would converse before, and after over dessert or coffee, but not usually while the main course was in front of him. And Gage didn't feel the pressure to keep a conversation going when it was just him and Emily, of course, they didn't ever run out of things to talk about, but they had learned early on how to simply enjoy one another's company, and not have to fill every silence with chatter.
They ate in silence until Emily stated that she had had enough, as usual she hadn't eaten very much. Gage had decided that their contrasting appetites only made them all the more perfect for each other, she ate well less than half of what he ever did. She would eat her portion and be content, whilst he would eat everything else, it worked for him at least. But Gage did need the food, the intense physical regime burned a lot of energy, he needed to keep up with it so he didn't begin withering away. He'd probably eat another large portion of something that evening, sushi was fantastic, but it wasn't very filling, nor high in calories.
Gage finished off the last of the platter, laying down his chopsticks and sighing contentedly, his appetite, for the time being, satiated. He swallowed the final dregs of his tea before reaching into his wallet for his muggle money, he knew just how much it would be without needing to look at the bill the young waitress had just dropped off. "Well, you were telling me how much you miss Alice, and she's been dying to see you," said Gage, that mischievous glint returning to his eye, "and we've still got a good amount of time for a visit." He winked lightly, depositing the money on the table before standing.

Emily looked at Gage in amusement but glad they appeared to be on the same page. That mischevious glint in his eyes was enough of a give away to let her know what was on his mind, more than likely the same thing on her own. Smiling she nodded, deciding there was no harm in playing along, "Yes Alice...I can't wait to see her." she said, though she wasn't joking she truly had missed the pup, it was strange how attached she'd become. Brushing her hair back from her face she followed Gage and stood from the table, lightly brushing down her clothes before she stepped out from her chair and smiled at him.
Leaning forward she planted a kiss on his lips, "Thank you for lunch it was lovely," she said, dropping another chaste kiss onto his lips before pulling back and taking his hand in her much smaller one. No matter how many times she did this she always found herself marvelling at the stark difference between them, but again her hand seemed to fit so perfectly with his own. Another clear sign they were meant to be in her opinion, they just fit not only emotionally but physically to. Like two pieces of one whole.
"So come on I wanna see her..." she said, tugging at his hand lightly as they left the restaurant. It was still fairly early in the afternoon so there was no rush but the blonde hufflepuff was all kinds of impatient now. Sure she wanted to see Alice but there were other things she was looking forward to doing, not that she'd let on about any of them just yet though. Though again, if she knew her Gage, which she did, his mind was already there, with her own.

Gage could only smile wickedly as Emily agreed to go and see Alice, so he had managed to convince her after all, granted, he hadn't figured that it would take much. For young people such as themselves, four months was a ridiculously long time to be apart. And although he wouldn't like it, he wouldn't keep her long, she did still have exams and things to finish up. Though he figured that they both would be happier once they were over with. Gage himself had hated both OWL and NEWT exams, having barely scraped by with both of them. He never had been an academic sort.
Thankfully, he was now done with schooling, having no aspirations to go to a muggle university like his parents had. Really, Gage didn't emulate them in any way, shape, or form. They had only spoken on a handful of occasions since he moved out of the house, even during the holiday season there hadn't been a single gift, card, or phone call exchanged. Not that he was complaining about that, it was probably better off that they weren't involved much in each other's lives. Of course, he had invited them to the wedding, but only out of obligation. Regardless of how little attention they gave him, they were still his parents.
Gage kissed her back lightly, having to work a great deal at keeping things appropriate for the setting. He then chuckled as she insisted that they head out. He lightly squeezed her hand, leading the way out of the restaurant and to the alley behind it before apparating to the hall outside his flat. "Brace yourself," said Gage as he fitted the key into the lock, "the beast is liable to attack, at least your shoes anyway." She was naughty about shoes, Gage had been taking to stowing them on counter tops.

Emily squeezed her eyes closed tightly as Gage apparated them to his apartment, burying her head into his chest. Again she didn't mind it but side long was a little hard on her stomach and for a moment she didn't move. Though when Gage spoke and pulled away, she opened her eyes, smiling as she heard the rustling of keys. By now she was practically bouncing out of excitement as she waited for him to push the door open. Rolling her eyes at him she swatted his arm playfully "Beast...please...she's the softest, most beautiful thing ever..." she said almost in a sing song voice as she stepped into the apartment, making her way through knowing Gage would follow. Sure it wasn't her apartment but this was where she felt most at ease and it clearly showed.
All too soon as she dropped her bag onto a nearby counter, Alice came bounding down the hall. Laughing Emily quickly dropped to her knees just as the much larger, and rounder dog came to a skidding halt in front of her, practically falling into Emily's lap with the force of trying to stop. "There's my best girl..." Emily gushed, leaning down to press a kiss to the dogs head, hugging her before tickling her sides. Clearly something Alice liked, she was wobbling all over with excitement, probably having them both back here. It had after all been far too long, and no sooner had Gage come back then he'd come out to meet her, so she began to feel slightly guilty for that. "It's insane how much I missed her..." she said, looking up at Gage with a smile on her face.
Alice pottered her way over to Gage as Emily spoke allowing the blonde to stand and for the sake of keeping her shoes safe she slipped them off and tucked them into her bag, which had been enchanted to be much larger on the inside than it actually looked on the outside. Same as all her bags. Leaning against the counter she looked at both Alice and Gage before holding her arms out to him. "I think I'm going to have a hard time leaving this place again." she pouted, jutting her bottom lip out playfully before wrapping her arms around Gage's shoulders and pressing her lips to his, finally kissing him in a way she had wanted to all day.

Gage laughed, he figured referring to his dog as a beast wasn't at all accurate, she'd likely be no use at all in the case of intruders, and would try and play with them before she would even consider attacking. The effect when he opened the door and pulled his key from the lock was instantaneous, he could hear the sound of Alice's nails clicking against the hardwood floor as she sprinted to meet them at the door. Gage chuckled lightly as the bulldog immediately went to shower his fiancee was affection, it really was adorable how fond they were of each other.
Gage didn't know what he'd do with himself if Emily didn't like his slobbering, hyperactive, slightly dimwitted dog. Lucky for him, the pair got along famously. He locked up the door before waving his wand, enabling the protective enchantments once more. Given the times, one never could be too careful... "Not really, she's a lovable thing," said Gage, kneeling down as Alice came over to his feet, "yes she is." He scrunched up her face, scratching behind her ears before straightening up. The puppy he had gotten ages ago had definitely gotten much bigger, well on her way to being an adult dog. She was a lot stronger now, too- if he didn't have such keen balance she could probably knock him over.
Gage straightened up as Emily held out her arms to him, gladly closing the gap and kissing her back deeply, the way he had wanted to back in the square in Hogsmeade, yet held back. He lightly pinned her against the counter, resting one hand on her hip, while trailing the other one up and down her side lightly. He pulled away after a moment, however. "Been wanting to do that for a while," said Gage.

Emily smiled happily as Gage closed the gap between them and kissed her deeply, though she knew her guy well and was sad to say he was holding back on her. Well she'd try and change that very soon, she didn't want any holding back, they had so little time together and she wanted to make every single second count. Her back was against the counter, her body wedged between it and her fiances solid body and in actual fact it was a pleasant feeling strangely enough and only seemed to make her crave just that little bit more. As he pulled away she caught her breath, her hands slipping over his shoulders to rest lightly against his chest.
"Been wanting to do that for a while,"
Emily smirked lightly as she looked up at him, her eyes twinkling with a little mischief as she played with the collar of his shirt. "Really? If we're being honest there's a few other things I've been wanting to do..." she said coyly biting down on her lip as a wicked smirk befell her before she leaned in to kiss him again, pressing her body just that little bit closer to her. It was strange how forward or wanting she became with Gage, to look at her you wouldn't consider her the kind of girl to do so, at least without being married first but everything with Gage was right and natural, so much so she didn't even think about it anymore. They were young, in love and soon to be married so she really didn't care what any one else thought.
All too soon though she was forced to break away a small pout settling on to her lips. "Alice..." she commented looking at Gage before smiling and looking down at the dog now pottering around their feet. Sighing softly Emily looked back up at Gage, shaking her head, the dog was looking for more attention. It was adorable and any normal day Emily may just spend hours on the floor coddling her but there were other things she really wanted to be doing, like catching up with her fiance in the most intimate of ways, it had been god knows how many months after all, right now she couldn't remember.
