Trinity smiled to herself, things in her life were starting up quickly, and she was quite excited for the changes. She hadn't spoken to anyone about her sneaking off during the holidays to try out, but that morning at breakfast she had gotten a letter asking her to join. That would mean having to drop out of school, but it was a sacrifice the newly-seventeen Trinity was willing to make. Her parents might skin her alive, but an opportunity like this probably wouldn't present itself in a long time.
Unable to keep the news to herself, Trinity had asked her brother to meet her up in the owlery, that way they might have some privacy to discuss what was going on. Trinity might have been excited, but she didn't want everyone in the school to know just yet. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other in her excitement, finding herself growing impatient waiting for Tristan.

Tristan climbed the steps. He was wearing normal clothing, jeans and a flannel shirt, his hair thrown into a random disarray. He wasn't one to normally concern himself with his hair. It was usually fine, in his opinion. Trinity had seemed a bit urgent when informing him to her wanting him to meet him. And, there she was, pacing impatiently. Tristan stood back and admired his sister. "What's up?" he asked, cutting right to it. She obviously needed to tell him something. They were twins, and he could always tell when Trinity was antsy about something.

Trinity whipped around and grinned widely at the sight of her brother, her waiting was finally over. He and Asher were the people she was most eager to tell the news, but she figured that family came first, but her boyfriend would know soon. "I tried out over the holiday," Trinity began, excitement growing within her like a great crescendo, "and just this morning I got an owl at breakfast, it's from Puddlemere- they want me to join the team!" Trinity hoped Tristan would be as enthusiastic as she was, although she had no idea how he was going to react.

Tristan was quiet at the news. His mind was working like clockwork. "So, you're dropping out then. After all this hard work at school, you're dropping out?" he questioned, his tone a little icy. Maybe he was being selfish, jealous that his sister was getting this shot and he wasn't. But, mostly he was hurt. How was he going to survive, not seeing his sister. He wasn't ready to give her up yet. And Tristan had a fuzzy feeling that she got the idea from her seventh year boyfriend.

"The schedule won't exactly permit schoolwork in with it," said Trinity, slightly taken aback, she had hoped Tristan was going to be happy for her. Apparently not. She bit her lip a moment, pondering what she could say to his less-than-enthusiastic response. "But I'll take the exams at some point. And the offer won't last forever, if I wait another year I might not be able to get anything," Trinity added, wishing reason would apply to her twin brother.

Tristan folded his arms across his chest. "Whatever Trinity, you could have told me," he hissed, eyes narrowed. "If I find you did this for him, I will never speak to you again, and he will get it," he warned, his tone murderous. Tristan was scaring himself. Sure, he was happy that Trinity was successful in her endeavors. But she was throwing her life away. What idiot would drop out of school for a job? Couldn't she do somethin sensible? She was only sixteen for God's sake...

Trinity furrowed her eyebrows and her frown deepened, was it really that hard for her brother to be happy for her accomplishment? Was he really dragging Asher into it, too? "Just as it happens I don't need your permission to do anything. And if you really have to go down this road Asher was not involved at all! It was my choice, and so you know I haven't even spoken a word of this to him! You see why I didn't tell you in December? You would have reacted exactly like this and spoiled the holiday for everyone." Trinity argued, a bit surprised at how heated her tone had gotten, but she was quite angry.

Tristan took a step towards his sister, pointing a finger at her. "I don't believe that asshole doesn't have something to do with all this? Do you think I don't see this as more than just a coincidence? That he's graduating after this term, and you'll be leaving?" he countered, his voice raised. At the comment about not telling him, he faltered. "I would have ruined the holidays for everyone? What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" Tristan yelled, not caring that anyone coming up to the tower would hear him shouting.

Trintiy completely ignored Tristan's first set of comments. She had been planning on doing that ever since fourth year, it had been her own secret, her private ambition. Red patches of anger rose to her cheeks, it took all her self-control to not hex her brother for all he was worth. "I know you, Tristan! You'll be sulking about this for days and snapping at anyone that so much as breathes on you the wrong way! Now please stop shouting!" Trinity said firmly, tone slightly only slightly raised, although nowhere near a yell.

Fury boiled up inside him, something that he had never turned against his sister. He was definitely angered by all this, and now she was personally attacking him, something she had never done, something they had never done. He was offended, nonetheless. "No, Trinity, I won't stop shouting! Not in the slightest! Where do you think you can get off, leaving school, leaving all this security, to jump into the world when you yourself are barely seventeen?! You're going to kill yourself out there, in that dangerous place! You aren't ready!" he screamed, jabbing his finger at Trinity.

Trinity stood still for a moment, almost completely dumbfounded by her brother's words. Too dangerous? It was just Quidditch, she wasn't planning on going curse-breaking or becoming an Auror. Sure, there were some security issues, what with the recent attack at the Wimbourne stadium, but she felt she could handle it. "I'm not stupid, Tristan!" Trinity snapped, "and furthermore, who are you to determine my capabilities? It's Quidditch for Christ's sake, I'm not about to go on some expedition or join the Death Eaters!" She paused for a moment, taking in a few deep, rattling breaths. "I don't think I've anything else to say, I'm joining the team whether or not you think I'm ready." Trinity added, tone reduced to that acceptable for normal conversation.

When Cora got up to the owlrey, she immediately knew that she had bad timing. Upon opening the door, she was greeted with a fierce shouting match. Tristan had just finished when Cora entered and then Trinity started up again. After a moment, though, Trinity had calmed herself. "Tristan?" Cora asked, figuring that the twins didn't yet know that she was there. "What's going on?" Her questions were directed at her boyfriend, but she didn't mind if Trinity answered. Cora was rather confused, but she had figured that Trinity was joining and Quidditch team and Tristan did not seem to be happy about it.

"Someone happens to think that they're in control of my life," Trinity said icily, glaring at her brother, not caring if the words that the girl had spoken weren't directed at her. She instinctively folded her arms, mostly as a measure to prevent herself from whipping out her wand. Trinity was scaring herself with just how angry she had become, she and Tristan had never really shouted at each other before. They had some quarrels, sure, but never anything of this magnitude.
