Gabriella nodded in reply and set down the nail gun. She smiled at Isaac and descended the ladder, not wanting to jump for fear of hurting the roof. Until it was done, a vampire probably shouldn't be running on it. "Now what?" Gabriella asked once Isaac was down as well.

"Whatever you want my dear," said Isaac after jumping from the fifth rung from the ground. He slipped his arm around his wife's shoulders, it was almost surreal to think that they were married and this was their house... Sure, they were young, but Isaac felt they were mature enough to handle it. The war had made them grow up too quickly, while technically adults, they were still just kids. Isaac didn't like feeling so old.

Gabriella smiled, thinking for a moment how just a few years ago, she never would have imagined herself married and with this nice of a house. Time had really flown by. "Let's go inside," Gabriella suggested, taking her husband's hand and leading him toward the main entrance.

Isaac nodded, walking hand-in-hand with his wife. If someone had spoken to him two years ago about marriage, he might have laughed at them- he had certainly been a lot less commitment-oriented then. And a lot more careless, Isaac was reminded of this by his almost two year-old son. Going inside now did not sound like a bad idea, perhaps they might find something productive to do, or at least lengthen their list of things that needed to be fixed.

Gabriella opened the main door with ease and entered the house. Their house, she reminded herself with a slight smile. It was still a bit odd to think about, but Gabriella supposed she would get used to the idea of living in a big house with Isaac. And fixing it up was bound to be fun.

Isaac slipped his shoes off, sticking them next to the door leading outside. He didn't really like keeping them on around the house, he couldn't say the reason, just that he didn't like it. Absently with his eyes, Isaac traced the route he had taken as he worked on the roof, about a quarter of it was done. He kind of wanted to get back on the roof and finish it that day, but reminded himself he needed to slow down. It would take a muggle couple well over a year to fix the place, not a month. Isaac looked toward his wife, waiting for her to suggest something to do.
((OOC: I think it would be funny if Gabriella initiated a conversation about having a baby, what do you think?))

((OOC: I think that's a rather excellent idea.))
Gabriella followed Isaac's suit and kicked off her shoes by the door before heading toward the kitchen, which was really the only room in the house with a livable floor. Gabriella leaned slightly against the counter, thinking hard about how to say what she wanted to talk to Isaac about. After a moment, she finally decided that she better just get out with it. "So, I've been wondering," Gabriella started, "if you wanted kids." Gabriella would've blushed if she wasn't a vampire, so she was glad for that at the moment. She wasn't sure what Isaac would say; he already had Xavier after all.

"What?" said Isaac, stopping dead in his tracks. He had very well heard what his wife had said, he just hadn't been expecting it. He was just thankful he hadn't been carrying anything, he might have dropped it. Isaac ran a hand through his hair, then leaned against the counter, biting his lip. He wasn't sure what he was going to say other than what first popped into his head... "I don't know, Gabs," Isaac began.

Gabriella bit her lip, knowing that it probably hadn't been the best time to mention having kids, but it had been on her mind for weeks now, nagging. She was somewhat jealous of Angel, who had two baby boys, and Safira who was expecting a little girl. Gabriella loved kids, but perhaps now was the not the time. "Well not right away," Gabriella added quickly. "Just like...eventually." She bit her lip again.

"Perhaps later," said Isaac, frowning a bit in thought. They were still young, the both of them freshly eighteen. He knew they were mature well beyond their years, but it just seemed a bit early to him. That and the baby they would be welcoming would be a vampire, he didn't want to bring a child into the world with the prejudices against their race still so strong. "The time isn't right, with the war going on and all. It's not just that either, we're still young, you don't want to give up your career so soon, do you? We've only been married three months, I want to enjoy it being the two of us for a while before we think about kids." Isaac added thoughtfully, he wasn't ready to be a father. Sure, there was still Xavier, but Miranda had full custody of him- He only watched the kid every once in a while and helped out financially. He felt more like a good friend than a father.

Gabriella nodded slowly. Perhaps Isaac was right, though that didn't keep Gabriella from wanting to have a baby. She knew that if she and Isaac were to have a child, that it would be a vampire, and subject to prejudice it's whole life, but Gabriella figured growing up with something like that and having two supportive parents was bound to be a lot better than getting Turned at the age of seventeen.

"Besides, we've got a good two-hundred years left," said Isaac, trying to make the conversation a bit more positive. He was a bit curious about the development of vampire children, it would be interesting to see one born and grow up. He still didn't think it was a good idea, not with the Ministry still regularly employing vampire hunters. Isaac knew it would be impossible for their race to be entirely stamped out, but he would feel irresponsible for fathering a child with what he was. Not while the prejudice and fear was so strong.

That was certainly an odd thing to think about. Gabriella felt that with the war that her time was limited, but if Isabelle's followers didn't kill her, she would likely live a few hundred years. So yes, there would be time. "It's weird to think about sometimes," Gabriella replied thoughtfully. She leaned further against the counter, thinking again.

"Indeed, very weird," said Isaac in agreement with his wife. It was almost a disheartening fact, that if they did not become casualties in the war that they would outlive their friends by hundreds of years. The fact made Isaac want to cringe. He knew they wouldn't live forever, but five hundred years or so was well beyond the grasp of the humans, unless they practiced alchemy. For the first time in a long while, deeper thoughts were coming to Isaac, touchy subjects like mortality.

It was moments like these when Gabriella resented being a vampire. Things certainly would be simpler if both she and Isaac were still human. For starters, any children they had would be human, and they wouldn't outlive their friends by hundreds of years. But Gabriella knew they were stuck now, things definitely weren't going to change, and there were some advantages to being a vampire. It certainly helped her job. "We should start on the inside of the house soon," Gabriella commented after a couple of minutes had elapsed. Now that she knew that Isaac wasn't ready for kids, she didn't really want to talk about it any further.
