Safira gave Demetri a sympathetic expression when he mentioned his father's death, but as he seemed to not be distressed by it, she decided that she wouldn't pursue the topic further, she didn't want to upset him. Yvonne Oriole, yes, the name sounded familiar, but Safira did not have a personal relationship with Demetri's sister, she didn't even know what house she had been sorted into. Safira took another sip of her coffee.

Demetri remained silent for a while, not seeing any need to continue. Not much had happened in his life since then that she wasn't already aware of. "And what about you?" he asked finally. "What has the great Safira's life been like so far? Surely it must be something." he asked with a small laugh. He knew some about Safira's life, like she had a sister, Bellatrix, and her older brother was Isaac. It briefly came to his mind that he was about to be married here in a couple of months to the Weasley girl, Gabriella. Demetri thought that was an odd mix, but then again, how many student-teacher couples were wandering around Hogwarts?

"You teach both my older brother and one of my younger sisters, Isaac and Bella. I have another little sister, Vivienne, who will be starting Hogwarts next year." Safira began. "My parents are awful, my father is a drug addict and openly admitted to detesting me after I was sorted into Gryffindor, and my mother is blindly in love with him in spite of all the horrible things he does and can't seem to do a thing to stand up for herself. I was raised mostly by a nanny, whom is now a mentor and more of a maternal figure than my mother ever was. The only reason I haven't run away is the money, not that I'm shallow, but why give that up if you had it at your fingertips?"

Demetri resisted the temptation to reach across the table and grasp her hand. She had obviously been through a lot. Now that he looked back on it, he remembered reading an article last year about Draco being sent to Azkaban. It must've been hard. He smiled gently.

"Things have gotten better since Draco was sent to Azkaban, though. I'd take my mother over him any day." said Safira. "They say people come back changed, even now that the ministry has forbidden dementors there. Hopefully that'll prove true someday." Safira fell silent and returned to her coffee, wanting to finish it while it was still hot. Nothing grossed her out more than eating or drinking something cold that was supposed to be warm when consumed.

Demetri nodded in sympathy. He hoped for the best with her family, times were tough. He realized that, when her brother got married in a couple of months, she would be the caretaker of her little sisters. Demetri knew the feeling. After his father was killed, his mother had spiraled into depression and slight insanity. Until she recovered, he was Yvonne's caretaker. No doubt that had made their bond stronger. He smile inwardly, taking a sip of his coffee.

Safira remained quiet as she returned to her breakfast, finishing off her portions and then grabbing her coffee again. She finished off her cup and poured herself another one, completely black. This would be her last cup today, she never drank more than three. And usually the last one was leisurely sipped while reading the newspaper or chatting to her friends. Safira hated that all her close friends (spare for Zelphar) were in other houses, she seldom saw them.

Demetri didn't press the matter any further. He could tell Safira was slightly uncomfortable with members of her family. He felt that no more information was needed to know that she needed him. He smiled absently, draining his coffee. He stood up and began taking care of the dishes. The day was still free, but he was clueless as to what to do. He began humming, hoping to break the tension hanging in the air.

Safira followed the tune as she began to clean up her own portion of the breakfast mess. The song that Demetri hummed was not one that she was acquainted with, but in following him closely she found that she didn't bungle the tune. When only the aroma remained of their breakfast, Safira stood behind Demetri and slipped her arms around his waist, standing on the balls of her feet to be able to lightly rest her chin on his shoulder. Even now he was still extremely attractive.

Demetri turned around in Safira's arms and wrapped his own around her. He held her in a tight embrace. He picked her up carefully, placing her feet on the tops of his so her head rested on his shoulders without any effort from her. He picked up his wand and flicked it an an old record player across the room, and it instantly began playing a soft, beautiful tune. He swayed back and forth, somewhat dancing with his love. He couldn't help but think how his own father would do the same thing with his sister when he was alive.

Safira from a very young age had been taught ballroom dancing as part of the etiquette her mother had wanted her daughters to have for the sophisticate parties that she would throw for no apparent reason. But she didn't mind this "improper" dancing that they were doing, it soothed her. Safira grinned as she placed her right hand on Demetri's shoulder, her left gently holding his. Safira softly kissed her lover's cheek as they danced.

Demetri smiled broadly at Safira's touch. He brought her closer, turning it more into a slowdance. He placed Safira's left hand on his shoulder and placed both hands on her hips. Demetri rested his cheek against hers, sighing deeply. He let his eyes close, taking in the music.

Safira gently stepped off of Demetri's feet, but still staying close. Her steps remained slow and small, that was perfectly fine with her, she didn't always need to dance grandiosely like her mother forced her. She appreciated this. Safira inched closer, so she could lay her head against Demetri's strong chest. This moment couldn't have been more perfect.

Demetri sigh heavily. He place his chin upon her head, smiling. His eyes fluttered open as the song ended. He stepped away from Safira and smiled. He bowed slightly, laughing a bit.

Safira mimicked with a curtsy, although she was not wearing a skirt, the hem of her big t-shirt would work for the moment. She laughed softly, and then leaned against her forbidden love. She kissed him gently, his cheek, his jaw, and then lightly on his lips. Safira loved Demetri so much, he was her secret, her passion, the person she thought about before falling asleep at night. "Please, Demetri," Safira whispered in his ear. "Make love to me again."
