The duo walked around the Black Lake. Sydney was unsure of their destination, but she didn't care. She was just thrilled to know that she was with Blaize. She briefly wondered what her parent's would think of Blaize. No doubt they would be mad at first, for they wanted her to marry a Frenchman, but they would soon be ecstatic. Sydney smiled a rather small smile.

"D'you have any plans for the summer?" asked Blaize, it was his own way of figuring out if he would see her over the break. His summer would ultimately suck if he didn't have an excuse to get out of the house. Sure, he had enough to get out a couple times a week, and Blaize had asked to be scheduled for work during the summer, so he would get out then.

Sydney shrugged slightly. "My parent's will most likely take me and my brother Jack to France. I can talk 'em out of it once they hear about you though." She replied with a small smile. "Jack will go to France regardless, his heart's a little shattered, he's homesick." She finished. Sydney didn't elaborate on Jack's pain. She was still grateful for Raychel for putting Jack in his place.

Blaize's heart sank when he heard plans of France, but there was a small bit of hope when Sydney mentioned that she might be able to talk them out of it. He could care less about her older brother, a seventh year that shared their house. But why would Sydney's parents want to meet him? So far, Blaize wasn't anything special. Perhaps they were just nice people...

Sydney smiled softly, placing a gentle hand on Blaize's arm. They walked in silence for only a few short moments. "This is nice." She replied. It was really a pointless statement, but it was a nice tension breaker. Silence ensued, but Sydney didn't mind. It was moments like these that turned into memories.

"Yeah," Blaize agreed after a pause that was probably a bit too long. He didn't take notice of his fumble, though, as he usually always messed up socially, never replying quite the way he wanted to. Sometimes things sounded much better in his head than when he actually said them aloud. Blaize just had issues he supposed, but in his writings, he could make the most suave characters that could say witty things.

Sydney didn't mind the slightly awkward response. It was just another reason she adored Blaize's company. They looped around the Black Lake once more, making it the... Sixth time? Fourth? Sydney had no clue, but she didn't mind. It was soothing, loosing time on things you love.

Blaize examined his watch, he had bought it himself with his wages, it was a wizard's watch. Rather than numbers it showed planets and stars orbiting around a silver dot at the centre of the timepiece. It had taken a while to figure out, but he could now read the time easily. "We ought to head back, lessons will be starting soon," said Blaize.

Sydney looked up at Blaize. "Okay." She replied. They were already halfway around the Black Lake, so it wouldn't take long to get back. They walked in silence for a bit longer. Finally, they reached the doors. Sydney wrapped her arms around Blaize and gave him a hug.

Blaize returned Sydney's hug, surprised, but delighted by it. He had never really received any attention from girls, he wasn't anything special in their minds. None of the distinguished accomplishments his father had done at sixteen. But everything had been done before, there wasn't anything for him to do. It would all come back to them later when Blaize made a distinguished author of himself, or a professional quidditch player. Blaize opened the door for his girlfriend.
