Angel yawned as she unlocked the front doors. The Three Broomsticks opened, without fail, everyday at eight in the morning. Why was beyond her. Who in the world wanted to go out and get a drink that early? Nevertheless, she had woken up at four-thirty in the morning to get here on time to refill all the kegs and sit around to wait for a customer. Which there probably wasn't going to be one until a bit after lunchtime. Angel dragged a chair behind the counter and sat down with a sigh of relief.
She was exhausted already. She folded her arms on the counter, and with some difficulty owing to her midsection, laid her head atop them. Before long, Angel had drifted off to sleep, breathing slowly and heavily. She did not even wake when the bell above the door tinkled, signaling that someone had come in.
It was Raychel. Tears stained her face, her messy black hair not even groomed, only flung back in a greasy ponytail. Her eyes were dull, and she couldn't even bear not coming into the Three Broomsticks. She sat next to Angel, then seeing she was asleep, began to leak her heart out. She needed to tell someone, even someone who wouldn't listen. She wove a tail of how she hadn't seen Jack for months, and then he had broken her heart.
((OOC: I am doing this since Jack hasn't been on in almost a month.))
"Huh?" Angel said once she heard the sound of a person talking. A girl. Her voice sounded oddly familiar to her. She opened her eyes slowly to see Raychel, looking an absolute mess. "Raychel?" Angel said sleepily. Without waiting for her to repeat the whole story, Angel hugged her. It just seemed like it would be the right thins to do at the moment.
Raychel smiled gratefully. She hugged Angel back, closing her eyes gently and letting time slow down. After she stopped the hug, she looked over at Angel and rubbed her eyes free of tears. "Thank you." she said softly.
"Anytime," said Angel with a small smile. She flicked her wand at a mug on the rack and it filled itself with hot butterbeer from the keg. It had a thin layer of foam at the top. The mug placed itself in front of Raychel. "On the house," Angel told her, she knew all about boyfriend troubles, she had had more than her fair share of them. Perhaps if things went well they might make some form of oozy chocolate dessert. They would pretty much have the place to themselves until early afternoon anyways.
Raychel smiled graciously. She pulled out her wand and quickly used a charm to fix her cloudy eyes and smeared make-up. She placed her wand back inside her robes, cupping her hands around the nice hot drink. Tentatively, she sipped it so as not to burn her tongue. "Thanks." she replied, placing her mug back onto the bar, although not withdrawing her hands. She supposed that this was all her fault, seeing as how she dumped him, but she couldn't help but be depressed.
"Don't mention it," said Angel, resting her hands on her stomach. She winced slightly, as one of her boys (though she was certain that it was Morgayne) was sticking his heel between her ribs. She used a hand to push back on the area, and he pulled his foot away again. "I'm sure we can make things a little better with some girl talk and chocolate," Angel said with a wink. She waved her wand and the ingredients for her famous double chocolate fudge brownies floated over to the counter. Who cared if it was only eight in the morning? Angel had a craving, and when she got cravings, it didn't matter what time of day it was.
Raychel laughed, her normal, wonderful, musical laugh. She took one of the brownies and broke off a bite size chunk, shoving it in her mouth. She savored the delicious chocolaty goodness. It somehow tastes better now, at 8 AM, after a heartbreak. Raychel smiled as the happy feeling warmed her soul. She washed the chocolate down with butterbeer and sighed. Angel was a true, golden friend. Raychel was glad to have been able to meet her.
Angel immediately sank her teeth into a brownie, biting off nearly half of it and swallowing after chewing four times. That was probably the only advantage to pregnancy, she could eat like she had never eaten before in her life. And she was certainly hungry enough all the time. "Oh, that's good," Angel said, it seemed to scratch a metaphoric itch. She finished off the brownie and reached for another one.
Raychel laughed once more. She polished off her brownie, then took a hearty swig of her butterbeer. She watched Angel scarf down brownie's, laughing to herself. Angel's urges were getting worse and worse with each passing day, and it seemed every hour she would have a new craving. 'Oh the joys of being pregnant.' Raychel thought caustically. She continued watching Angel without pressing anything further.

After her fourth, Angel was satisfied, and then flicked her wand at a goblet on the shelf. It placed itself before her, and she used a cool little charm she had learned to pour water directly from her wand tip into the goblet. She took a deep drink. "How is school going for you?" asked Angel. She missed Hogwarts greatly, but there was no going back. With two jobs and rent to keep paid for her flat, she couldn't just stop everything and go back.
Raychel nodded as she drank from her mug. She set it down on the bar counter. "Well. Very well." she replied happily. School was something she was always good at, that never failed her. She never was a slacker, always a good student. Perhaps that was why she was put into Ravenclaw. "How's work?"
"This place is a hell-hole," Angel said, pulling a face. She really hated working here, but she needed the money immensely. "It's only supposed to be part-time, but last week I was half an hour short of full-time hours. Not to mention one of the staff doesn't do anything," She paused to take a sip of water. "But my job at Ollivander's is the best, I make wands."
Raychel shook her head in disgust. "I can imagine. This place must be ridden with troublemakers. You really shouldn't be worked so hard here." she replied, placing a comforting hand on Angel's own. She really hated to see such a sweet woman get worked to death, especially one as pregnant as she. It had to be some sort of cruel, unusual punishment in her case. Hearing about Ollivander's however, she smiled. "I think that suits you just fine!" she replied. She had seen Angel's handiwork before, and it was breathtaking.

Angel grinned. Yes, one might be able to say that she was born to be a wand-maker. She felt that she was more talented in that than anything else, even seeking (although she had inherited Harry's talent on that). She had even made her own wand after her first had been broken in a fight with Death Eaters. And now, she had made her father's wand after his had been broken. Although they never spoke anymore, they were still connected through that wand. It gave her the tiniest bit of hope that she would be able to have a relationship with her parents.

Due to a change of circumstances in my life resulting in neither the time nor the energy to invest in the forum, Hogwarts, a New Era is now closed, this time permanently. For nearly seven years this place has been like home, and its members a second family. I'm sad to see it go, though I also need to move on to the next phase in my life. I'll leave the site unlocked for anyone who wishes to look through it for nostalgia's sake. It's been a great run, guys, love you all. -Jaqi
Unrest in the magical community is continuing to grow- tensions between half-breed activists and pure-blood supremacists are running high. Things may very well be reaching a breaking point.
SPRING 2021
MARCH
The weather is beginning to warm as the snows of winter switch to heavy rains of spring. While temperatures are getting milder, sightings of the sun are rare as it competes with the rain and heavy overcast.
