Ariana frowned. "Ok, you got a buzz, how about that? Now I can room with..." Ariana stopped there. She bit on her lip and straightened up. "I have a place, OK? I will live, it's not that bad learning mortal things" She shrugged.

Gabriella rolled her eyes and sighed. "Whatever Ariana, whatever," she replied. "I don't really care what you do, as long as your happy." Gabriella ran a hand through her hair, thinking of a way to leave the conversation. "Oh, I hope no one writes your parents though," she said just a little smugly as she began to walk away.

"And I hope you'll get over yourself because I know that Alec is already over you" Ariana growled after her cousin and walked into the pub. She sighed and collapsed into a stool at the bar.

And then Gabriella ran, she ran faster than humanly possible, faster than she thought even was possible for a vampire. The world was no more than a blur as she ran, her jeans rubbing against each other as they began to wear out again. She was running so fast that she couldn't even be seen anymore. And then she stopped, right at the doors to the castle. Someone was standing just inside as she pulled them open. It was...

Ryan was walking out of the castle to get the ring for Jasmine engraved. He nearly ran into the red head, Gabby was her name. She looked mortified. "What's wrong?" He asked as she nearly slammed into him.

*OOC: quick note, Gabby has brown hair...*

"Sorry Gabriella muttered as she saw Ryan. "Oh, um...it's complicated," she muttered vaguely. "And it's a little bit of a long story." She stopped talking, noticing the little bulge in Ryan's cloak. "What's that?" she asked.

Ryan bit his lip. "Can you keep a secret?" He asked after a minute of contemplation. He didn't want Jasmine to know before he popped the question, especcailly if she heard it from one of her cousins. He also wasn't too sure if Gabby approved of him.

Gabriella grinned. "Sure," she replied, knowing it was something to do with Jasmine. She hadn't liked Ryan to begin with, but that had been a tough time in her life and he had really grown on her since then. She was happy that he and Jasmine were together.

Ryan looked over his shoulder to make sure no one was listening. "So..." He began and pulled out the box. He showed Gabby the emerald ring with a gold band. "I'm going to ask Jasmine to marry me" He told her. "I'm going to get it engraved" He ran his finger along the smooth gold band.

Gabriella covered her mouth before she could scream. "Oh...my...gosh!" she exclaimed, restraining herself from jumping up and down. "That's so exciting! You're so sweet!" She looked more intently at the ring. "That's a really pretty ring, too. She'll love it."

"I hope she does" Ryan couldn't help but smile at Gabby's reaction. If she liked it wouldn't Jasmine like it? "It's not the ring I'm worried about, I'm worried about what she will say." He admitted, carefully placing it back in the red velvet box.

"If there's any thoughts in your mind that she'll say no, than you might want to check into a mental hospital," Gabriella said, smiling. "She's crazy about you. She loves you. Trust me, she loves you forever."

Ryan nodded, repeating those words mentally to himself. He needed reassurance. "So you won't tell her or anyone else?" He asked, biting his lip. His proposal was tomorrow night, but it couldn't come fast enough.

"I promise I won't tell anyone," Gabriella said, smiling at Ryan. "It would ruin the effect. It will be interesting when she comes to tell me about it though," Gabriella said after a moment, laughing just a little.

Ryan forced a smile but he was still nervous. He was going to ask what was wrong with Gabby, but he had seemed to cheer her up. He didn't want to ruin her now happy mood. "Thanks for listening" he smiled at Gabby, running his thumb over the smooth red velvet of the case.
