Instead of giving birth at home with the midwife as they had initially planned, Safira had ended up at St. Mungo's due to the baby being breech. The labour had been long, spanning from eight in the evening the previous day until after six in the morning. Safira was completely worn out, but she had done it- she had delivered her and Demetri's daughter. The tiny infant lay asleep in Safira's arms, carefully swaddled in a pale pink blanket.
Tears still remained in Safira's eyes, her daughter- their daughter was beautiful. Cautiously, as not to jostle Aurora, Safira raised a hand to her eyes to wipe them. The baby seemed so fragile, so dependent on the parents which brought her into the world. It was surreal to think about, but Safira was a mother. Too engrossed in the quiet moment of emotion, Safira didn't even look up when she heard the door open.
