Nix gave a small smile before stopping in her walking and then looking down to the other girl ,"I never spoke to anyone, they beat me and starved me. But you just have to prove them all wrong by being loud and proud and everything you wanna be" she said in a small voice before lifting a hand up and pulling back her robe sleeve. She held her arm out and then twisted it to the light, a long and deep dark scar showed up against nixs pale and freckled skin and she gave a small sigh

Whatever Prudence had been expecting it certainly was not that, she would have never in her wildest dreams imagined that a complete stranger would reveal to her something so deeply personal. Had it been her in that situation she would have hidden it, even now most people had no clue about how restrictive her father was of her. She was rarely allowed to leave the house, could only wear or do what he approved of, and would likely be forced into the career that he picked for her. Prudence shifted a bit uncomfortably, finding her eyes widen as Nix revealed dark scar against her fair skin. She could only nod, words at that moment had decided to fail her entirely.

Nix saw the other girls head stiffly nod and nix fought back a grimace, she had always been one to stand up for those weaker than her that couldn't or wouldn't do it for themselves but of course that came at a price. Those on her arms were reminders that she came from a house where no once accepted her and they showed that any way they could. She took a moment to stifle a growl that grew in her throat before shaking her head and shifting her fingers so her robes fell back over her arms and the scars that lay there before lifting her head up and then turning to the other girl ,"just remember, no matter how things get, firstly you can always change them but you need to be the one to do them and second, there's always someone stuck deeper in the mud" nix said with a glance down to her arm

Prudence's hand that was not clutching the stack of Runes books to her chest found its way into the pocket of her robes. It was an absent habit for her, mostly because her hands were near always freezing, no matter how warm it was outside. She never understood that about herself, it was just the way that she was, even if it made her father fuss over her worse than ever. Always thinking she was ill, even when she felt perfectly fine. "Right," said Prudence, reflecting on her own experiences. It was true that she could be the one to change the course of her life. Of course, that meant having to stand up to her father at some point, and that was frightening. Prudence had never defied him before, never once insisted that she do what she wanted, not what he wanted for her.

Nix noticed quickly that the other girl wasn't speaking and turned her head to look back at her ,"can I ask? You seem to be more oppressed rather than someone who is beaten down, so who's pressing?" she asked in a careful voice. She didn't want the make to the other girl she had only just met feel awkward or upset but she also felt like she had to look after her because it was a clear as day thar she was unhappy with atleast some of her life if not a very big chunk of it. She then heard something move and twitched her head sharply and looked around, her wand flicked in her fingers and shot forwards as the tip followed nix's eyes around the corridor as she looked for the source of the sound

If Prudence had been uncomfortable before, she was extremely uncomfortable now. She had never discussed her father's overtly protective nature with anyone before, not even Sulu. He only wanted what was best for her and her health, though her happiness at times took a backseat to the decisions he made for her. Prudence wondered if she would ever be able to move out, or even get married. Likely no man she would ever meet would be good enough for her father. And the shock that she had entered a relationship without his arranging it for her might kill him. "My father," said Prudence, shocked at herself for admitting it. Prudence just hoped she wouldn't be pushed to discuss it too much, a lot of it stemmed from her mother's death, which was still a painful topic for her almost a decade later. Prudence flickered her eyes in direction of the noise, though wasn't alarmed by it, Hogwarts was a peculiar building, odd noises were commonplace.

Nix heard the girl speak and then had been about to reply when she'd seen something move and broke in to a grin ,"you are a hell of a pain miss, get over here" she called out before turning back to the younger girl behind her. "I had a whole family to beat me down, actively too" she said in a small voice as a blur of black ran over towards her legs. "but you have to make sure that you are the one living your life and no one else" she said before bending down and picking up a black and very wild looking cat and holding her in her arms and stroking the cats ears with a growing smile

Prudence momentarily raised an eyebrow, thinking at first that Nix's first comment was aimed toward her, though when she saw the flash of black fur running over to her she immediately knew that it wasn't about her. The cat was a peculiar thing, it looked like it were wild, though behaved almost like a dog with the way it greeted its master. It reminded Prudence nothing of her own cat, a purebred white-haired blue-eyed Persian. Harmony was an affectionate feline, though rather lazy and somewhat stupid. She hadn't caught so much as a spider in her life. Prudence only nodded when Nix spoke again, it was sound advice, but she wasn't sure if she coud ever find it in herself to defy her father. He only ever wanted the best for her.

Nix noticed the lack of words from the other girl before minx mewed in her arms as her amber eyes caught on to the ravenclaw and she looked her over, nix laughed to herself before holding the cat out at arms width while she sniffed at the ravenclaw before she gave a small sneeze and then flicked her tail. "you have been approved" nix said with a grin as she lifted minx up and held her beside her shoulder, the wildcat looked around before climbing gracefully on to nix's shoulder and letting her long tail flick down over nix's back as the two humans reached the end of the corridor

Prudence smiled a bit when Nix said that her cat was approving of her, most people she knew didn't speak of their cats that way. Then again, most cats weren't like the wild-looking one that Nix now had on her shoulder. "I'm glad I've got the seal of approval," said Prudence, falling into pace with her redheaded acquaintance once more. She half-wondered where they were walking to, if they were even going anywhere at all. She didn't often take walks for no reason, Prudence would rather conserve her strength by only walking when she had somewhere to go. Prudence shifted the stack of books in her arms, she was beginning to regret taking so many, but she was convinced that she would need them all.

Nix walked to the end of the corridor and then turned back to her walk buddy, "you still need me or can you go for a wander to your common room by yourself?" she asked with a smile before minx gave a soft mew on her shoulder again. Nix looked up to her wildcat and lifted a hand to stroke her ears and muttered softly to her ,"she has the right to pick where walks and how she lives, I'm not going to force my views of either on her" she said to the cat only to her a soft mew once again as nix chuckled to herself before looking at the younger ravenclaw girl with another soft grin

Prudence smiled a bit, "I think I can find my own way, now," said she. She really did have to get back to her studying, OWLs were staring her down, and she couldn't afford to not do well- or else she would not fit her father's mould. She needed to continue all subjects but history and herbology for the career that he wanted for her. Prudence would definitely be dropping herbology, but she did enjoy history and would probably keep taking it anyway. But her NEWTs should be a bit more tolerable without quite so many subjects to juggle. "Um, thanks for helping me clean up," said Prudence, "it would've taken me ages."

Nix gave a soft smile and nodded to the other girl ,"I'm happy to have been able to help you out, hopefully in more than one way" she said with a small chuckle before she held out her left hand and shifted her right to tuck her wand away in her combat pockets. Minx of course mewed at the lose of her strokes and so nix had to lift her right hand again to start to stroke her again before she turned to the other girl ,"feel free to send me an owl if you ever need someone to jinx anyone again, or any other help" she said with her soft smile again as minxs tail began to flick back and forth as the wildcat watched the ravenclaw girl again

Prudence smiled, it felt good to have something of a friend to stick up for her, and to help pick up the pieces if they didn't get there in time. She momentarily scratched the wildcat behind the ears lightly, knowing that her own cat Harmony adored it. "Thanks, I appreciate it," said Prudence, withdrawing her hand from the cat to go back to precariously balancing the overlarge stack of books. She had so much work to do that it made her want to lapse into a panic attack all over again, but she would keep a level head for the time being. "I'll see you around, I hope," said Prudence.

Nix nodded her head to the young ravenclaw before taking her wand out again, she could barely stand to leave it away in her combats for more than about two minutes. She tapped minx's head lightly with it's tip and the wildcat shifted on her shoulder and then jumped down to the floor before sitting and looking up at nix for a moment. Nix nodded to her and then bent over and untied her converse shoes before slipping her bare feet out of them and tying the laces together and then nodding to the cat again and looking to the other girl one last time. "I hope to see you round too, remember what I said though" she said before she stood up and then grabbed the top of her laces and clicked her tongue and minx mewed again and broke in to a run down the corridor as nix flicked her wand and muttered a summoning charm before stepping backwards out of the window only to land on her broom as she fell
