Wren woke early with the kids that day, keeping quiet as not to wake her husband until she had finished breakfast. Currently she was in the kitchen, five-month-old Daniel balanced on her hip and Ruby sitting on the counter, trying the best she could to help her mother make vegan pancakes. "Very good, Ruby," said Wren as her daughter tipped a cup of flour into the mixing bowl, the little girl still in her pajamas beamed up at her mother, she was somehow already a real mess. Wren chuckled at the mess, it would clean up quickly enough with a simple charm, she might as well let her daughter have fun with the ingredients. Wren mixed up the batter with her free hand, and then tossed in a few palmfulls of plump blueberries.
"Now what shall I do?" asked Wren, of course not expecting an answer from her young children, though she would definitely need both hands to actually make the pancakes. She decided that for the moment she would busy herself with making coffee and heating the soy sausages from the freezer. But just as she was tipping the frozen sausages into the frying pan, Wren realized her own silliness in forgetting that she was a witch. "See what they both of you are doing?" said Wren, ruffling Ruby's hair a little, "making me lose my mind!" She smiled all the same and kissed Daniel's chubby little cheek as she pulled her wand from her apron.
With a quick flick of her wrist the pancakes were making themselves and coffee was beginning to brew- turning the kitchen into a pleasant array of smells. Just as the pancakes were stacking themselves neatly on a platter Wren heard noise from upstairs, that had to be Zachariah. "Looks like Daddy's up," said Wren, scooping Ruby off the counter and onto her other hip so they could go out into the dining room, but she paused at the foot of the stairs, wanting to see Zachariah the minute he came down.

Zachariah rolled over in bed, his bare, muscular arm reaching out for the warm body of his wife, only to find her side of the bed empty and cold. Groaning he reluctantly opened his eyes to see his wife was also nowhere to be found in the room. Pushing himself up, he combed his fingers through his hair and threw back the covers. After throwing on a pair of pants and his t-shirt, grimacing ever so slightly when he caught his newest injury over his chest.
Shaking his head Zachariah trudged out the bedroom, his steps faltering slightly as he caught a whiff of the delicious aroma drifting up the stairs. Smiling softly he turned to walk down when his eyes landed on his wife, juggling their son on her hip at the bottom of the steps. Chuckling he walked down, pausing to drop a kiss on his lips, "Morning beautiful." he greeted her with a smile as he pulled away, holding his hands out for Daniel, "Hows my favourite guy this morning."

Wren beamed, she knew that it sounded cliched, but every time Zach entered the room it was like falling in love all over again. Perhaps it was her own childish, slight naive, view of the world, but Wren couldn't help the way she felt. She loved her husband more than anything, except of course their two young children. Wren gladly smooched Zachariah back, replying with a wide beam and a quiet "good morning." She turned to the side so Zachariah could take Daniel, glad to be able to hold Ruby with both arms. As their daughter was further progressing into her toddler years she was getting a bit to heavy to hold with one arm.
"Fine as always," said Wren, "though a little clingy, he keeps fussing every time I put him down." Overall, however, Daniel was a fairly laid back baby- nowhere near as demanding as Ruby had been at his age. She lead the way into the dining room where the pancakes, soy sausages, and coffee were already waiting for them. Wren carefully lowered Ruby into her high chair, snapping her in snuggly before fitting her with a bib so she wouldn't make herself even messier than she already was.

As he took Daniel into his arms, Zachariah smiled brightl at his young daughter, dropping a loving kiss on the top of her head, ""There's my Princess." he said, tapping his finger on her nose, before Wren turned and carried their daughter into the dining room. For a moment, as he held Daniel, Zachariah watched his wife disappear into the other room, glad he had nothing to do other than spend the day with her and the kids.
Wren was easy to love, falling in love with her had been as easy and natural as breathing. Every day he counted himself lucky, knowing she loved him back. "So whats for breakfast?" he asked Daniel who giggled at his Father, grabbing the finger Zachariah used to tickle him under his chin. Chuckling to himself Zachariah stepped off the last step and moved towards the dining room. "So whats the plan for today boss?" he asked Wren with a teasing glint in his eyes as he placed Daniel in the baby bouncer set out on top of the table.

Wren beamed, she couldn't have asked for a better father for their children. The kids loved Zach. She plopped down in a chair at the table, unable to keep herself from smiling- she was always a happy soul unless she had reason not to be. Even then Wren had a knack for finding the light in the darkness. "Blueberry pancakes and soy sausage," Wren said cheerfully, knowing that by now Zach was more than used to her vegan ways. She hadn't eaten meat since she was... ten years old? Wren had allowed herself eggs and dairy while pregnant because they were good for the baby.
But once Daniel had been born she had cut them both out entirely. Wren poured two mugs of coffee, mixing up Zachariah's for him just the way he liked it before pushing it over to his spot and giving Ruby a pancake that she tore into four pieces. "Syrup sweetheart?" asked Wren, holding up the glass jar of maple syrup so Ruby could see. "Syrup!" Ruby said gleefully, slightly mispronouncing the word due to her own excitement. Wren chuckled and poured a little puddle of syrup right onto the tray of Ruby's high chair.

"Soy Sausage my favourite..." he chuckled, sitting down in his chair. It had taken some getting used to but now he was more than used to his wifes Vegan ways, he still enjoyed meat and such but they rarely ate it. When Wren poured the syrup onto Ruby's tray he laughed lightly, knowing what state his daughter was going to get herself into, which in turn meant yet another messy bathtime for them.
"So it's just us today right?" he asked Wren, he loved their individual families but with work having been as busy as it had been for him lately, all he craved was time with his own perfect little family. One he hoped would continue to grow, he craved a whole litter of kids, though he wasn't sure if Wren was actually willing to have more.

Wren beamed, she knew that Zach wasn't as strict on his diet as she was, and didn't expect him to be- though she couldn't bring herself to touch meat. Even to cook it. Oftentimes when she went to the market she found herself gagging as she dashed past the butcher to get to the rest of the things that she needed. Wren piled up generous portions of pancakes and soy sausage onto a plate before passing it to her husband before serving herself about half of what she had given him. It all smelled so good, it was nice to be able to have breakfast without feeling nauseous- it seemed that she had been pregnant for a very long time.
Especially since Daniel and Ruby had been so very close together in age. "Just us today," said Wren, "at least I don't think anyone is coming over..." She made it very clear that their doors were always open, so her siblings and Zach's siblings came over all the time. Wren never minded, though people always going in and out tended to add to the chaos that was their home with a small zoo and two young toddlers. Though she wouldn't have it any other way, she came from a busy, hectic home, it was all she really knew.

Zachariah thanked his wife for his breakfast by taking her hand and pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles, winking at her once before he reached for the honey to put on his pancakes. "Oh well thats good, though I wouldn't turn down a meeting with that sister of yours..." he said, Zachariah was disappointed he had yet to congradulate his sister in law on her big news.
"Hows Jordan taking the news he's to be a Dad, I bet he's thrilled right?" he asked, he knew how much his friend had been wanting to start a family, he also knew it had been a tense topic between Violet and Jordan for a while now, with the former not being ready to have a child.

Wren giggled when Zach kissed her hand, in spite of the fact that they had two children she was happy that they found it in them to act like the newlyweds that they were. In thinking on it, they hadn't been married that long. "Vi might come by, but I'm not sure," said Wren as she doused her own small stack of pancakes with a generous pouring of syrup. Wren had already went out and bought an entire bag full of baby clothes for her little sister- she was thrilled when she heard they would be having a little boy.
He would be close to Daniel's age, it would be good for the both of them to have a cousin their age to play with. "Of course he's thrilled," Wren said, beaming after she swallowed a mouthful of pancake, "but I think if he had it his way they'd have a honeymoon baby, too." She chuckled as she leaned over to kiss Ruby on the cheek, of course she might not have wanted a baby straightaway after being married, but she loved both her babies more than anything in the world.

"I bet he is, he's been waiting for long enough..." he chuckled lightly shaking his head as he remembered the few conversations he'd had with Jordan, of course Violet hadn't been ready for a baby but Jordan had been wanting one for so long now. As he tucked into his breakfast, Zachariah allowed himself to look over at his wife with a loving smile. It was as if he constantly had to remind himself that all this was real, that he had been lucky enough to find someone like her.
"Your beautiful you know that!" he told her, shooting her a smile his eyes conveying his honesty. Shaking his head he chuckled when Ruby made a noise of protest, trying to get his attention, so he turned to her and smiled brightly, grabbing hold of one of her hands and kissing them, "You are to Princess." he said, taking great delight when the little girl began giggling and waving her fists at her Father.

Wren smiled a bit, though she didn't blame her sister for not being ready for a baby straightaway- she had a career, and was only nineteen. Of course, that was how old she had been when she had Ruby, but that didn't matter. They were different people, Wren had always known she wanted to be a mother while she was still very young, but Violet seemed to have a bit more of a career-oriented mindset. She only nodded, owing to her mouth being full of pancakes. She might not be the most prim and proper of them all, though her mother had certainly been set on making sure her children at least had table manners.
The scoldings she would get as a child still carried over with her to that day. Don't talk with your mouth full, sweetheart! being the one that stood out in particular. Wren beamed when Zach complimented her, it had been quite unexpected, though still very sweet. "You're very sweet," said Wren, leaning across the table so she could lightly kiss her husband on the lips. Ruby had now seemed to figure out how to get syrup in her hair, making Wren shake her head lightly as she pulled away, though smiling all the same.
