Amadeus could see the way that Ascella was watching him, it appeared almost nervous to him. He recognized, of course, that it was not exactly his place to judge her actions, and he wasn't going to. He only knew that he himself would not be doing something like that. There was more protection in actually being a Death Eater than a contractor of sorts. Now his thoughts were leading him into another unfamiliar territory- what exactly was his sister doing for them? Amadeus had not thought about that until that particular moment, though wasn't sure if he would even be allowed to ask.
Surely it was something like finding information, or things that might be useful to the cause, or was his sister out there torturing and killing people? Just as suddenly as the thoughts had come into his head Amadeus shoved them away, he did not want to dwell on what his sister might be doing out there. It was stirring up concern within him, a feeling with which he had relatively little experience, and he didn't like it. Ascella was sixteen, practically an adult, perfectly capable of handling herself and whatever it was the high-ranking Death Eater was having her do for them.
"I won't tell anyone," Amadeus promised, his words holding a remarkably genuine tone in them that had never been present in his voice before. A cunning, manipulative person he might be, but Amadeus could be counted on when he gave his word. He seldom did, he didn't like being held accountable for people he did not care strongly for. But Ascella was his sister, and he would keep his silence about her secret.

There was somewhat of a long silence between the comments of the two siblings, but it didn't unnerve Izzie as much as it usually would. She took it to mean that they were both thinking quite deeply. Surely Amadeus was wondering what sort of business she had gotten herself into, or perhaps he didn't really want to know. Either way, he had to be pondering it. Izzie couldn't imagine her brother not being that curious.
Izzie nodded slowly as Amadeus said he wouldn't tell anyone about her secret. She had expected him to keep quiet, of course, but it was always nice to hear a promise like that out loud. It confirmed her feelings about her brother, at least. "Thank you," she replied, genuinely glad that he had said that. Isabel knew that when Amadeus gave his word, he would never break it. It was a trait that she shared. It was also why the two seldom gave anyone their word.
Izzie glanced behind her, checking to make sure that her papers weren't visible from between the mattresses. "Well, that's enough business, I think," she commented, wanting to brush away the topic for now. It was almost depressing to think about. "We should really try out that new broom of yours," she added, a smile coming to the corners of her mouth. "How about it?"

Amadeus' eyes flickered around the room a moment during the span of silence, recalling that it had been a very long time since he had even actually been in his sister's room. Of course with his being at Hogwarts for the majority of the year, he didn't really think on how long it had been since he had been in a particular room in the manor. Amadeus brought his gaze back onto Izzie when she thanked him for keeping his silence, and only nodded. He didn't think that it was much of anything he could reply to. Adding something like "you're welcome" seemed silly.
Try out the broom? If he were going to be honest with himself Amadeus had almost completely forgotten about the brand new Thunderbolt still in his hand. He had, however, been fairly distracted by news of Death Eaters and Ascella now working for them. His seriousness became slightly less severe as his signature smirk found its way back onto his somewhat thin lips once again. Just as eager as he was to get any information he could about the Death Eaters, he was excited to try out his new broom. It was only the best for him, Amadeus had read that professional Quidditch teams in the UK were clambering to get them.
Surely it would be the best model featured at Hogwarts-level Quidditch, giving him all the more edge when he would try out for the recently vacated seeking position on the Slytherin team. "That sounds fantastic," said Amadeus, his smirk widening slightly. He wondered just how quickly he could circle the entire property on the Thunderbolt, especially with the speeds the creators insisted it could go.
