Wren laughed, her husband did have a way of doing that, she loved the way their relationship worked, it was as if neither of them could do any wrong. They could be playful and just have fun with one another, even with her likely being in labour. Perhaps she had been for the duration of the day, but the first hadn't felt as strong as the two she had had over the past ten minutes. "Well, she is the oldest, she'll need to establish dominance one way or another," Wren said lightly, again putting her head on Zach's shoulder. Ruby might remind her a lot of herself, though there was no denying she had quite a bit more spunk.
Perhaps it was because Wren had grown up the second oldest, having a brother before her, whereas her daughter didn't have a sibling above her in rank. "I will, just relax," said Wren, tipping her head back a bit to place a kiss on Zach's cheek. She knew that he had a tendency to become panicky when things got down to the wire, but she figured there was still some time yet. Maybe not much, but these things could be deceptive. Wren would monitor herself closely, however, she had a bit of a reputation for quick births.

Zach wrapped his arm back around Wren as her head came to rest on his shoulder, and he pressed a kiss to the top of her hair, letting his head rest against her own. "Little madam is dominant enough..." he commented, dreading his daughter developing any more of it. He doubted poor Daniel or himself would be able to handle it. Four girls, 2 guys, one household, yes him and his son were going to need to stick together if they had any hopes of getting through this. Zach chuckled at his thoughts, shaking his head as he looked over to his only son, deciding that maybe one day, if Wren ever wanted, he'd like another boy. Though that was way off, they already had two babies on the way, then again they'd always planned a large family, he just had to wonder how large their family would actually get.
"Easier said than done my love." he said, pressing a kiss to her forehead after she kissed his cheek. No matter how much he tried it wasn't in his nature to completely relax, plus with the way Wren usually gave birth chances are the moment he tried to relax she'd give birth. Smiling he leaned back in the chair, his arm over her shoulder, his hand lightly brushing up and down her arm in a comforting, soothing pattern. "Can't believe it's finally here...soon the house will be over run with girls...2 against 4..." he sighed dramatically, before chuckling at Wren, hoping she'd know he was teasing.

Wren laughed again, little did her husband know how things worked with multiple girls in the family. She had gone through it first hand. Sure, she and her sisters had gotten along famously, but it had taken a long time for things to get that way. Of course, the dynamic of her family was all skewed to hell, Violet was dead, Seth had vanished without a trace, Wren was estranged from her parents, and she hadn't seen any of her other siblings in months. It hurt more than she let on, though she was much too busy with her husband and kids to be able to dwell much on it.
Yet again she laughed at his comment about him and Daniel being outnumbered. Perhaps someday there would be another boy for their family, they had always wanted a large family... Wren cringed as another contraction came on, it had barely been five minutes since the last... "Very soon," said Wren, breathing deeply as she ran her hands over her belly, "might be a good idea to take the kids to the Dawlishes." Sure, it might be a little premature to send them there, but she knew just how fast the process could be for her- better safe than sorry.

Zach frowned again, looking at Wren as he felt her body tense and watched as she cringed. He sat a little straighter his hand squeezing her knee as she confirmed what he had thought, soon, the girls were getting ready to make their grand entrance that was for sure. Smoothing her hair back away from her face he nodded his head, watching as she inhaled deeply, breathing through the contraction now coursing through her. What he wouldn't give to take that pain away from her, but she was the strongest woman he knew, she'd deal with it, she had with the other two but this time she was having twins, it'd be worse wouldn't it? No, she'd be fine, she was his Wren...she'd be fine as would the babies.
"might be a good idea to take the kids to the Dawlishes"
Zach nodded and was on his feet, leaning down he pressed a kiss to her forehead. "Stay put I'm going to send them through..." he told her pressing another kiss to her head before turning and ushering the children back inside the house. They knew the plan, so didn't argue with their Dad when he told them to get their bags, and they were back in front of him and the fireplace in record time. Within minutes they'd gone through and with a small, excited sigh, Zach clapped his hands together and headed back out to Wren, "How we doing beautiful?" he asked, coming to crouch down in front of her, his hands migrating to her knees, wondering if it was time to head to the hospital too.

"Don't worry," Wren called to her husband as he went and rounded up the kids, smiling to herself. He made quick work of having them grab their bags and heading inside to the fireplace. She used a single bare foot to lightly rock the swing, leisurely petting her dog who had flopped onto her back so the petting could instead be on her belly. Some women might be panicky, but not Wren, she was a veteran at this. She'd done it twice before already, and even then she had that ingrained maternal instinct in her, she knew what to do and how to keep calm.
Once Zach had gone, Wren hoisted herself off the swing, contrary to what her husband might tell her, it was good to be on her feet, allowed gravity to do some of the work, though when she saw him coming she sat back down. "Just fine, dear," said Wren, smiling. She lightly ran a hand through Zach's hair, her opposite resting on her belly. It really was adorable how flustered he got, when in most cases it seemed to be the other way around with couples. Her hand slipped lightly down his neck until it came to a rest on his shoulder. At that precise moment another contraction hit, causing her to grip her husband's shoulder a bit more tightly.
