Dressing Style: Coming from a low income household, Calypso tries to make her lack of money into a fashion statement. She'll often snag her mother’s boyfriends flannels and wear them as dresses or shirts. Most of her other shirts she has been holding on to since first or second year. Her shoes have also seen quite a few winters, matching her general look. She’ll make up for it with heavy, attention drawing eyeliner and make up. Once her jeans get a rip while longboarding, she’ll quickly cover them in other rips to make them appear new.
PERSONALITY
Personality Description: Calypso loves anonymity. She’ll often put herself in crowds of people, feeling more like there is less judgment for her lifestyle, and that there are more people like her. That being said, she doesn’t have a lot of experience with one on one interactions, making her come off more arrogant than she is. She doesn’t spend a lot of time worrying about personal opinions and small talk, but rather focuses on what she feels are important matters, feeling they have more worth of time.
Coming from the household she did, she has learned that she won’t be able to change her circumstances, and that people will judge. Her way of combating this was developing a personality that comes off as if she doesn’t care, combined with a general “fuck you”. This slips away in smaller, personal settings, and she’ll become much more self-conscious and focused on trying to appear less pitiful as she feels.

History: Calypso was born out of wedlock to a pureblood wizard and an unknowing muggle mother. Her father fascinated her mother with tales of the world he had travelled, and it wasn’t long before she became an accident. Her father lingered around, waiting to see if his daughter would inherit any of his abilities, his tales of foreign places inspiring her mythological name. When no signs came up within the first two years, he went on his way back to traveling the world, and she never heard from him again.
Being a late bloomer, it took Calypso until she was seven to begin to recognize that she wasn’t like the other kids, in more than just the money situation. Upon receiving her letter, her mother fainted, and then quickly banished Calypso from their rundown apartment. For her first through fourth year she found herself spending her summers in the orphanage.
In her fifth year Calypso took a trip into downtown London where she found her mom working in a gentleman’s pub. When Calypso confronted her, her mother broke down and admitted she had almost no money. Since then Calypso has been working a job to help support her mother, although their relationship remains rocky, and her time remains strapped between school examinations, work, and building her writing portfolio.
MUGGLE WORLD
Alias: Hana
RP Experience: Five years
RP Sample: Violet felt the rough shingles beneath her back as she stretched out, feeling somehow longer, more relaxed on the steep slope of the roof. She propped her arms behind her head, eyes scanning the inky black sky, littered with white lights glowing brightly down on the neighborhood. Sure, this house was a part of the grand neighborhood of people with fat wallets and empty hearts, but it still seemed set apart from the rest. She could see each and every other house. The dim golden glow of lights in their windows, something she had always taken for granted. Of course when you're dead, you don't need the lights, especially when you've been living in the same house for more than a year. Still, it was a pulsating feel of life she had forgotten the warmth of.
Then again, she hadn't felt much of that warmth. She was a classical, modern day teenager, even when she had been alive. Her parents had had a rough marriage, even before the abortion, meaning their home was broken. Band-Aids was all they stuck on the countless cracks in their life. It had been this house that had made them face those problems once and for all. Ripped the bandages off and forced her parents to act like adults. Forced her to realize there were others in the world beyond her indie music and dark poetry. This was where her parents and her differed. They didn't like the house for that reason. But that's why Violet loved it, which was good, as she had officially marked a year of living as a part of it. The first year of an eternity.
The night was calm, almost frozen in time, a feeling that she carried with her at all times. It had been almost identical that night that she had taken those pills. Maybe that was the breaking point. When every fiber of her being was shrieking in fear, anger and frustration, the world around her was as still as a lake on a frosty autumn morning. She had felt alone. Trapped in the silence. But it was this very silence that she had come to savor with each passing second of her undead life.
