Distinguishing Features: Talia, being a pureblood who never had much experience with non-magical things when she was younger, is a big fan of Muggle culture - namely their styles and fashion trends. Early on (as soon as her parents were no longer responsible for taking care of her) she started getting several tattoos with the help of a Muggleborn friend, as well as a few piercings. She has her ears and belly button pierced, and has a total of three tattoos. The Deathly Hallows symbol, on her left wrist, a small phoenix on her ankle, and her twin brother and her birthdate (3.13.00.) at the nape of her neck.
Dressing Style: Talia wears pretty casual clothes. Dressing up is practically unheard of for her - she prefers just a pair of jeans or shorts and a t-shirt. If it's an extremely special occasion she might wear something a bit fancier, but due to the years and years of her mother stuffing her into terribly tight and hideous gowns, she refuses to go near a dress of the same sort. She's developed a claustrophobia of sorts, thanks to those restricting corsets; she'll die before she lets someone get her into another one of those again.
PERSONALITY
Personality Description:
Impulsive. Carless. Edgy. Compelling. All words that can be used to describe Talia. She has never been one to think before acting or speaking, and to those who aren't accustomed to her attitude and sarcasm or the weak of heart, she can come off as harsh, vulgar and insensitive. And she usually is, unless you catch her in one of the rare times she's playing gentle and sweet. Talia has a good sense of humor, even if it can be a bit twisted and dark at times. She has no problem with getting into trouble, and even enjoys the attention that comes with it. She acts how she pleases; everything is a game to her, and that's how she likes it.
Talia is pretty much chaotic good. She's on the right side of the law, but that doesn't necessarily mean she follows the rules. She's never been one to do what she's told to, unless it's in a dire situation; she prefers to go her own way, to pave her own path. She has her own set of morals, some of which may not agree with those of the society around her. Talia has a fairly good heart, although she may be a little offbeat. She isn't overly cruel to people for no reason, she knows where the boundaries lie. She never sets out to hurt somebody. That doesn't mean she's nice, however - she isn't a saint and knows it; she won't pretend to be someone she's not. She tries to do the right thing, but often in a unique way.
Talia is clever, maybe even too clever for her own good. She's got rather deep thoughts, but rarely puts them to good use. Her intelligence is often underestimated. During her school years, she got decent scores quite easily, though nothing extraordinary. She was simply a bit lazy - preferred to settle for average marks rather than putting everything she's got into a class. Unless, of course, it happened to be one of the few classes she was deeply passionate about.
In all bluntness and honesty, Talia really doesn't give a damn what other people think of her. She's only trying to get through life and have fun while doing it - petty thoughts of other peoples opinions only distract her from it all, so she doesn't waste her time. There's no question that she's confident in herself, be it intellect, personality, or looks, but she can also be rather conceited and arrogant.
Likes: Quidditch, partying, drinking, cars, muggle culture, men, dueling.
Dislikes: Death Eaters, losing, laws/rules, pre-conceived morals, being rejected, poor weather, prejudice purebloods.
Strengths: Athletics, clever, brave, honest, dynamic.
Weaknesses: inability to talk about feelings/sensitivity, sarcastic, blunt, aggressive, reckless, arrogant, lazy.

BACKGROUND
Mother: Katherine Michelle Quinn (née Bentley), Pure Blood, 50 y.o.
Father: Sterling Alexander Quinn, Pure Blood, 53 y.o.
Sibling(s): Elijah Alexander Quinn, twin brother
Other Important Family: .
History: Talia was born into a prestigious pureblood family, where the belief system was chock full of people who were inferior to them. She was raised by a mother and father desperately trying to convince their two children that non-magical folk were abominations, mudbloods were mistakes that needed to be erased from the world, and blood traitors were the kind of humans they needed to shun and hate with every ounce of their being.
Her older twin easily bought into it. He was typically the better child, the heir of the Quinn name, while she was the problem daughter - Talia Michelle, heir to nothing. She was famous throughout her family lineage for being a disgrace. Her parents were naturally disgusted by all the "impure" thoughts that cropped up in her mind; they tried everything they could think of the set their child on the right track, but as soon as she started Hogwarts, all hope was loss. Blood meant nothing to Talia, and pretty soon they learned that she was associating with children of all types of statuses - mudbloods, half bloods, blood traitors. She purposely set out to make nice with those her parents didn't approve of, and completely ignored the pretentious children of her family's close friends.
Katherine Quinn spent seventeen years, hoping she could change her daughters mindset. She shoved her into gowns and sped her off to pureblood galas and events, started introducing her to possible suitors that she was to wed as soon as she graduated Hogwarts, and delivered punishments for even speaking the name of anyone who was below their status when she was at home during the summer.
Talia disconnected herself from the family. As much as she adored her twin brother, and despite the inescapable love for her parents, she slowly became more and more detached as they became more attached to the Dark Arts, and purity, and the Death Eater legion. No one seemed to have a problem with it. In fact, as soon as they heard that once Talia had graduated Hogwarts, she had set off to become a professional Quidditch player rather than a respectable trophy wife to some rich bloke, her mother and father officially disowned her.
At nineteen, Talia learned that her parents had been locked away in Azkaban for helping in the murders of a few innocent Muggles and Muggle Borns. Her twin, Elijah, had inherited everything - the Quinn mansion, the fortune their parents had saved up, and even their fathers position in the Death Eater ranks. Around the same time, Talia joined the Order and had found herself doing everything possible to protect those the Death Eaters deemed inferior.

this is an old, old snippet from a different board. i hope that's okay! -
With a grin on his face, Marcus Ackles swung the door to the Three Broomsticks open. His usual gang of friends, all Slytherin students, accompanied him. All of them were smiling just as he was, dressed all the same in their Quidditch uniforms. Marcus had his Firebolt slung lazily over his shoulder, and despite the cold outside he wasn't bundled up in many jackets and coats like most other students were. His group of friends were yelling excitedly, slapping each other on the backs and letting loose on the poor pub. They were, of course, here to celebrate their most recent win just a few minutes prior to the scene. The weekend match had been against Gryffindor, and by just ten points, the Snakes had beat their rivals for the first time in many years.
As captain of the team, Marcus was getting quite a lot of admiration from his house. Girls had been showering him with compliments, his team was more than pleased with his plays, and the Head of House himself, Professor Crane, was extremely impressed. Marcus wasn't sure the year could get much better... there was certainly no looming threat of exams, as those had already passed for the sixth years. The Quidditch cup was well in his reach; they'd be facing the Badgers in the final game of the term in a couple of weeks, and everybody was aware that the Hufflepuffs were no match for the Snakes this school year. Everything was just the way it should be, with one minor problem. One that could easily be fixed.
Just that day, before the match, his girlfriend of one month had called it quits. She'd claimed he cared more about his ego than her, which he made no effort to deny. It wasn't as if there was anything particularly special about the gal, Amanda Chase. She was rather needy and clung to him as if her life depended on it - in truth, he'd only hooked up with her because she was the perfect girlfriend, in appearances. She had made him look good. But a replacement could easily be found for her... there were plenty of chicks that would happily line up just to kiss the ground he'd walked on. Maybe not as good looking as her, but he could find someone close enough to her beauty.
There she was now. The blonde Slytherin was sitting alone at a table, seeming quite depressed as she dragged her fingernail around the rim of her cup. He grinned at this involuntarily, and let his eyes slide across the pub with a plan in his mind. Rather than try to replace her undeniable attractiveness, he would get her back. His gaze landed on another girl across the room. She was a Ravenclaw obviously, by the blue cloak and tie she wore. Maybe a bit nerdy if the homework in front of her was anything to go by, but she was quite pretty. He smiled and made his way over. Half way there, however, his shoulder hit against another student. He had been moving quickly, and running into the person almost sent him to the ground.
