Annie sat in a chair at the corner of the room, watching the youngsters run around gleefully. It wasn't often they had company, much less the company of a teenage girl. Still, Annie was feeling... charitable. She paid visits to the orphanage regularly to help out, but there was only so much she could do. These kids were outcasts of the worst kind. Their parents had abandoned them. Though Annie had her issues with her parents, they never would leave her alone. They loved her. And she loved them.
A little boy with flaming red hair like hers came up to her. It wasn't a common hair color, especially when natural. Annie wasn't a natural redhead, but preferred the fiery color. It suited her personality more. This little boy was about five years old, and was missing his two front teeth. He took her hand and pulled her to her feet. "Come on, Annie, play with me!" he called brightly. Laughing, Annie obliged, sitting on the ground next to him. The pair began to play with several toy cars on the ground.
It was a blissful thing, in Annie's mind, to see these children so happy around each other. They could be miserable and mope about their situation. But, they didn't. It was beautiful. Annie wished she could care for them all, but there wasn't any other way, rather than being a volunteer as often as she could.

Silas stepped into the room, a little awkwardly owing to the higher-tan-normal threshold which he stumbled over, but regained his balance quickly. He had always been clumsy on the ground, a trait which he thankfully left behind when he was on his broom playing Quidditch. Today was a different sort of day for him, Silas wasn't working, and he wasn't content sitting around at home, but then he had recalled the owl he had gotten a week into summer, asking him to volunteer at the orphanage. Deciding that it could be fun, as well as a productive way to spend his day off, he had gone to play with the kids.
What he had not expected, however, was to see a halfway familiar face already there. Silas recognized her from Quidditch, even when she was zooming across the pitch that vibrant red hair was hard to miss. He wondered if people ever mistook her for another Weasley, not many people electively chose to have that particular colour for their hair. He offered her a friendly smile. "Hi," said Silas, lowering himself to his knees so he could be at eye-level with both the girl and the children.
There was a group of maybe a dozen kids, and to Silas it seemed that the oldest one was around seven, and about an average mix of boys and girls. It was a nice day out, perhaps they might be able to initiate a game of tag or hide-and-seek out on the orphanage's small, albeit nice, playground.

Annie was surprised to hear a voice that wasn't all that childish near her. Looking up, she saw a fellow, familiar redhead kneeling down beside her. Offering him a smile, she replied, "Hi," then returned to playing with the little boy who'd called her over. She remained silent, racking her memory to figure out why the boy looked so familiar. Finally, she realized where she'd seen him. Looking back up from her cross-legged position on the floor, she eyed the boy.
"You're the Hufflepuff Keeper, aren't you?" Annie asked quietly. There weren't many redheads in the school, especially ones that were natural. This boy was one of them, and she didn't often forget a face. However, his name eluded her. She stuck out her hand for him to shake, smiling kindly up at him. "I'm Annie Orion," she said to him, using her hand not currently outstretched to tuck a strand of her fiery locks out of her face.

Not knowing the girl's name was bothering Silas slightly, he felt that he should know at least her surname from Quidditch- though he did suppose that he was at his most focused while playing Quidditch, he very seldom heard the commentary. It was more like background noise as he trained his gaze on the chasers, never letting the quaffle out of his sight for a moment. "Yeah, that's me," said Silas, glad that the girl had recognized him, but didn't seem to know his name, either. The Weasley part had probably already come to mind, if only because of his hair, but there were a lot of his family to keep up with.
"Silas Weasley," said he, accepting her hand, though didn't have much time to talk before a little girl tapped him on the shoulder. She couldn't have been older than five or six, and from just looking at her he got the impression that she was something of a tomboy. Her brown hair was pulled into sloppy pigtails, the jeans she was wearing had holes and the knees and she had some dirt smudged on the end of her nose. "You play Quidditch?" she asked enthusiastically, her words showing off several missing teeth. "Yeah," said Silas, "Annie does, too." The girl beamed at them both.
