- A part-veela comes into existence from either being the product of a male human and veela, or having a veela somewhere in their maternal family lineage.
- Males cannot receive the charm nor pass it on to other generations, although they can receive the looks that come along with being related to a veela.
- Appearance genes from veela are very strong, part veelas are pretty, though are on the pale side with light blonde hair and blue eyes. Related to a veela or not, without these features the charm cannot be inherited.
- The charm which part-veela can use weakens with each generation, take the Delacours for example. Fleur's grandmother was a full veela, her mother was a half-veela with a very strong charm, Fleur was a quarter veela, but still had a pretty potent charm. Generally, after the fourth generation (or eighth veela) passes the charm goes away entirely.
- Part veela can turn on their charm at will, which is known to override the judgment of males, making them want very badly to please the part-veela, or do crazy things to impress them. Though this does not create real love, it is like the effect of a love potion- the charm makes attraction, or even infatuation.
- Part veela can expect a slightly longer than average lifespan, many of them getting into the early hundreds.
