Xiu was finding herself growing quite tired of the cold, and although the temperature was much warmer than it had been in December, it still wasn't warm enough for her liking. As she reached the edge of the lake she reminded herself that more pleasant weather would only be a few weeks away- even if the warmer surroundings would bring tons of rain with it. Xiu found it downright miserable living in the UK, although she could not imagine making a home for herself anywhere else.

She rubbed her hands together, peering out into the water. It was unnaturally still, perfectly reflective like a mirror. Xiu wondered if the lake ever experienced a tide, she had yet to see it move in that manner. Xiu sighed lightly before selecting a smooth stone from near the water's edge, and with a flick of her wrist skipped it across the water. It skimmed the surface three times before sinking, making ripples in the water as it went. When she heard the sound of feet crunching on the stone, Xiu turned her head to look at...
