Azzurra felt immediately bad when Blaize put his head in his hands. She realized that her question might have upset him. But Azzurra didn't know how to comfort someone that she wouldn't quite call a friend. She ran a hand through her hair. "Sorry," Azzurra murmured, not entirely sure why she was saying the word. Blaize was obviously hurting and Azzurra found herself wishing there was something she could do.

Blaize slowly dragged his hands down his face, stretching his skin momentarily before removing his hands and focusing back up at the yellow hangings. Hiding wasn't going to fix all his problems forever. If he ever found the man that had attacked Emily- Blaize might have to kill him. The sudden violent thoughts surprised Blaize, they just seemed so unlike him, so conflicting to his calm, amiable nature. "It's not your fault," Blaize said.

"I probably shouldn't have brought it up," Azzurra explained, having the sudden need to occupy herself by picking at her nail polish. She knew that if someone brought up Alec, she wouldn't want to talk about it, so perhaps she shouldn't have said anything about Emily; it had to be extremely painful for Blaize to even think about her.

Blaize mentally agreed, although he still did not find fault with Azzurra. She was merely trying to be sympathetic, just like everyone else in the entire castle. He found himself often wanting distance from everyone else, to allow himself to heal in peace. Blaize did not seek sympathy, he was the kind of person that dealt with personal problems on his own, seeking solitude more than anything else. "It's okay, you're certainly a bit more tactful than some," Blaize sighed.

"Um, thanks," Azzurra said, her comment sounding a bit more like a question at the end. She fell silent once more, finally allowing her nail polish to be left alone. Azzurra thought that it might be better if Blaize were to talk about his sister more, but she certainly wasn't going to be the one to bring that up. She hardly knew Blaize and besides, she wasn't sure if talking about Emily would even help.

The moment was becoming increasingly awkward to Blaize, he had no idea of what to do or say, and was becoming almost overwhelemed by a desire to leave. Perhaps he would go and take a long walk to clear his head. Maybe he would go into work anyways, even if his boss told him that he worked too much. Blaize could always do some writing, that helped to keep his mind off things. He kept quiet, hoping that Azzurra would either select another topic to talk about or simply leave him alone.
